But last election showed otherwise that anioma at least has voting strength...and enough one ooo

Though if it comes to urhobo, Ijaw, and Isoko teaming up. What you guys failed to understand is that it will be quite hard.

Urhobo and Itsekiri teaming up is possible because of how they believe Delta belongs to them but with Ijaws is will be quite hard and hard.

After how many years, it was last year that anioma produced vice chancellor in Delsu.

Okowa should subtly fix and ground anioma in delta politics before leaving office. He can do that.
what happen during the last election was just PDP factor and ibori factor too .when it come to teaming up against anioma urhobo will always count on ijaw and isoko is open fact no matter their difference.secondly anioma people don't vote like Igbos of east they will tell you that is a waste of time.in my polling unit we have up to 900 register voters but people that came out was not upto 120 people.

This is why I believe
Anioma people need their own state. I still believe that it should be the next state to join the south east but some people think it’s a bad idea because of the on going identity crisis.

I personally believe that if Aniomas get their own state, then they can have a safe space that will enable them progress Faster and a conducive environment to solve the identity issues.
I didn't want to talk about anioma state here before some people here will think that I accepted Igbo because of anioma state but the truth is that anioma state will solve 95% of the problem.

This is just the plain truth.

I know some emotions are flying around here. But if Aniomas get their own state and have a better control of their politics and economy, the need to deny igbo or the incentive to deny igbo will be mostly killed off.

The only way Anioma can be liberated is if they're removed from Delta and added to the SE. Either as the 6th or 7th SE state.
The identity crisis many of us face in the SS is because we're isolated from the Igbo pride. Imagine speaking pidgin, instead of your Igbo dialect to others simply because you want to feel more south south like the average Ijaw, Ogoni, Urhobo etc. We are alienated from the Igbo identity in many ways, that it takes strong individual conviction to stand tall as Igbo. I for instance during my teenage age didn't really understood what it meant by being called Igbo, because I was informed that you can't be a Rivers man and still retain your Igbo identity. I was more Rivers man than even Igbo until my early 20's. You look around to the left and your neighbors are denying Igbo for political gains, and you ask wtf is going on.
The political loss of Ndigbo in national affairs seems to be dragging us backwards. Ndigbo must get it right politically and use their weight to liberate us out of this SS. The earlier Ndigbo insist that the SS Igbos are given states of theirs and added to the SE, the earlier the denial nonsense is defeated for good

State creation is out of the equation because it won't fly.

Inclusion is necessary for unity and progress, and avoidance of internal strife and sabotage.

The Igbo communities/dialects who deny being Igbo are doing so as defense mechanism . I see a lot of internal ethnic fights here about who is superior or inferior Igbo. If you say Ikwerre ,Anioma,or Ngwa are not real Igbo , what happens when someone from Ikwerre or Ngwa community ascends to position of power ? Do you think the individual would help or sabotage Igbo cause? I think the individual would sabotage and even deny being Igbo.
I observe this internal strife and sabotage in all Nigerian and African ethnic nations.

Beachlife, you are a newbie here. We have been dealing with non-igbo trolls with multiple accounts starting fake fights to disrupt this thread and so many other igbos related discussion threads.

In the past, we used to confront them but when we found out that they had the full blessing of the moderators on this forum, we decided to start ignoring the fights.

To an outsider like you, you will think it’s igbos fighting each other but it is not.

The only people that are deceived and engage the trolls are new people that just sign on to Nairaland.

And for a person who is not an illiterate and prances herself as an intelligent girl I am constantly perplexed by your level of reasoning...its shameful and disgraceful !

While you guys are at it , here is a shocker....Ndokwa are being heavily Igbonized. However, I am not here to preach Igbo unity but in as much as we are distinct from one another that doesn't stop us from working together for a common good.

what is the meaning of SS igbos?
oga stop living in self delusion the language that Anioma tribe speak is far different from igbos, they may somehow sound a bit similar but they're entirely different.
the language of Igbos of the 5 states of SE is far different from that of Ikwerre, Ndoni, Etche and Anioma of Rivers state and Delta states respectively.

Firstly it is only someone from Edo state or yoruba will be going about peeping through Igbo thread and feeling agitated.....Correct me if I'm right.

Next he will tell you I am from here and there. Well give thanks to nairaland for helping to create people who are not proud of their community and fatherland. People who feel that their fatherland is a disgrace whenever it is mentioned. People who are not man enough to discuss their fatherland let alone naming it. They will rather claim another person's state because of the ruins and unworthiness of theirs.

@bolded next time ask questions before rushing to exhibit your Ignorance.
