My Fiancée Wants To Abort My Unborn Child Because Of Nursing Council Exam by KingEzo: 6:04pm On Jan 10, 2020
Hello Nairalander,

please I need your advice. I am 31 years and my fiancee is 29 years and we have been dating for the past four years.

She discovered that she's pregnant on new year's eve. We discussed the issue throughout the new year and we agreed to keep the pregnancy that she's going to write her nursing Council exam later. I told her that she should give me some time so that I can go and discuss with my parents and organize introduction then do the engagement in a little way but she said her mom won't be happy with her that she needs to do big wedding because she's the first child of her mom.

She later told me that she's going to inform her parents before taking any step. To my surprise she called me this evening that she is going to terminate the pregnancy because her family has been raining insults on her since she got home.

She said her grandma is even coming to the city with her so that she can terminate the baby. But I told her that I didn't support it that I can't terminate pregnancy, I told her that she can write the council exam after delivery but she insisted.

Sir-Ma should I support this their action?

OP sorry to burst your bubble your spouse family seem irresponsible.......a grandmother following her grand child is the height of moral bankruptcy. It's time you have a rethink about your spouse and her family that's if you don't also share same moral outlook.
BTW when you both were having series of unprotected sex what where you guys expecting?

Was the pregnancy a mistake? The last time I checked, a woman can only get pregnant through unprotected sex, or careless sex. Before you found out about the pregnancy, what was the plan? Did you have a serious relationship with her? Were you thinking of walking her down the aisle?

I'm curious to know, cos as it seems, her mind is already made up. And insisting that she keeps it when both of you are obviously not ready for the next step is selfish on your part. How much time did you ask her to give you? What if the time elapses and nothing positive happens?

Look, the one who will bear the brunt of the pregnancy is your girlfriend, and not you. Do you know how many women die daily due to complications arising from pregnancy and childbirth? So, she can decide to do whatever she wants with. After all, it's her body and not yours. The one who bears the load feels the weight.

If you insist that she keeps the pregnancy, then you have to do her bidding by organizing a flamboyant wedding ceremony for her. Everything has a price, and it's the price you have to pay for not zipping up and planning ahead.

It's obvious the family doesn't value you or the decision you both took

It also seems she doesn't even consider what you both have worth fighting for....so, why bother?

Talk to her family if you can, but recognize that marriage....talkless of a baby is no small responsibility. You have to be prepared and not just bump into it by mistake

She has chosen her family decision over yours

It's possible you will go into a marriage where your in-laws takes upper decisions over yours, there by making you a puppet

She wants an elaborated wedding of which economically, that's not what you want

How are you sure you can really fit in

Just tell her if she terminates the pregnancy, the relationship will be terminated

It's now left for her to obey you or her family

Make your stand clear and don't be a push over

What has an engagement/introduction got to do with having a big wedding? These are very separate events.

She's really not interested in getting married to you, and going by her family's insistence on aborting the pregnancy, I don't think they are interested in having you as their in-law either.

Sorry.

Modernisation has created the impression that we can do things our own way and ignore bible standards, however, there is some wisdom to its principles.

The truth is without any formal marital relationship, your fiancee with the support of her family can decide to terminate the pregnancy regardless of what you think or want.
Your opinion only matters if she is your wife.

Engagement Davido style Abi ?

Baby mama tinz ? Engage today, marry in 100 years.

You think it's every family that wants 9 month pregnant belly on wedding day or wedding blessing 10 years after baby drops.

I see you're looking for how to destroy her life ,stop her career and saddle her with a new baby while your own life goes on.

Madam is not ready to bring a baby into a poverty stricken lifestyle that's why she's wanting to pass her exams and start off her career.

Good she is thinking of herself and her future first. If things go bad, and you disappear, she will.have to put her life on hold to raise her child while you move on to the next.

If you were such a sanctimonious guy,you should have resisted sex before marriage but you were kpanshing raw.

Next time, use condoms to avoid stories that touch.

You are spot on bro, a grandmother supporting such speaks so much about this family. This is a vain family if you ask me, you need to take a step back and ask yourself if you can deal with these people, a 29 year old woman without her own mind is a disaster waiting to happen

Exactly you made so much sense.

He wants to put someone else's life and plan on hold while every thing goes his way. He better allow the girl do what she wants, kpata kpata both will go their separate ways, but it will spare them a future full of regrets

@op, if at such age your girl can not still make decisions by herself i wonder the kind of lady she is. To make matter worst, the grandma (what a shame) want her grand child to commit abortion.

In all of this it left for you as a man to decide if you want to continue in such a relationship . Because from all indication you do not have a say in this relationship not to talk of when you guys later get marry.

When people have unprotected sex the outcome is pregnancy. The two of you were just fvcking without a future plan and now you're here disturbing us with your issues. Mscheeeeeeeew.

Anyway, run from that lady because the family doesn't see you as a reasonable prospect for their daughter. Do you think they would be averse to the pregancy if you were a black Bill Gates or Zuckerberg? You are likely one of those broke guys wey no get shishi for pocket but una preek dey always strong like concrete, and now you want to use said preek to scatter someone's life. Olókó strong. Dick Fury oshi.

Hustle o, make dem no use you do bad example. Mscheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew. In short, you and your girlfriend are very yeye people.

Though I believe abortion is wrong. You have no grounds for objection.

1. You are not married (not even introduction)
2. She will be the one go through the pain, let her think it through and see the gain or otherwise.
3. Will you have chosen her over your family. All you are asking her to do is reject her home for your sake.

It is her choice.

Accept it, even if you don't support it.
