Are you saying that in heaven, there will be Saturday in God's heavenly calendar? And that the calendar will cater for about 11 sabbatical systems? I don't think so. The statement is figurative of constant worship of God even in His new system of things.

Of course, Jesus course on Earth was to fulfill the law. After his death the law had been fulfilled. If the law is not out of the way now, we would wonder if Jesus would be coming to fulfill it a second time.

Romans 10:4 says that Christ is the end of the law. What do you understand by that?

Paul uses telos in Romans 10:4 to convey that the objective
or goal of the law—the "aim or purpose" of it—is to point us
to the mind and character of Jesus Christ.
n Romans 10:4 , Paul’s words are
translated: “For Christ is the end of the
law for righteousness to everyone who
believes.” Regrettably, most translators
render the Greek word telos simply as
“end” instead of giving Paul’s intended
meaning of that word in this context.
Reasoning incorrectly that faith makes the
law void, they have adopted an illogical
assumption that Paul plainly rejected in
Romans 3:31 . This passage reads: “Do we
then make void the law through faith?
Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish
the law.”
To discover the proper translation of a
word that can be used in more than one
way, its context has to be understood
correctly before any effort is made to
determine the right nuance of meaning that
the author intended. Here is a simple
example. One might ask a college student,
“To what end are you attending college?”
The word “end” in that context would refer
to the “objective” or “goal” the student has
in mind. Receiving a degree would be only
the “end result” of his college years of
learning, not the end to his ability or desire
to learn.
The Greek word telos, translated “end” in
Romans 10:4 , can convey variations in
meaning, including “ ‘the aim or purpose’ of
a thing” ( Vine’s Complete Expository
Dictionary of Old and New Testament
Words, 1985, “End, Ending”). This is very
clear in the New King James Version’s
rendering of 1 Timothy 1:5 , where telos is
properly translated as purpose in the clause
“the purpose of the commandment is love.”
In this same verse the NRSV translates telos
as “aim” and the NIV renders it as “goal.”
Paul uses telos in Romans 10:4 to convey that
the objective or goal of the law—the “aim or
purpose” of it—is to point us to the mind
and character of Jesus Christ ( Galatians
4:19 ; Philippians 2:5 ).
Jesus Christ, the living Word of God, is a
perfect replica of what God’s law teaches.
Pointing us to His character and work is the
“aim” of the law. Rendering of telos as
“end” in Romans 10:4 distorts Paul’s
intended meaning—something Peter
forcefully warns us not to do ( 2 Peter
3:15-16 ).

Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

We are commanded to teach and obey the law this proves that Jesus did not fulfill the law to abolish it.

Same Jesus told a man to go and keep the law in order to inherit eternal life.

Matthew 19:16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. 19:18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, 19:19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 19:20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?

Understand my position. I said that while christ was alive, the law was still in force. Jesus lived by the law, although he keep emphasizing the principles behind the law. Such principles are still valid. But after Christ's death, the law ended. Col 2:14 helps us see this, 'Christ nailed it through his death'. verses 16 to 17 stated that none should be judged on the requirements of the law again. It is just a shadow. Christ is the realty. It was after his death all these happened.

When someone has fulfilled the law, what need is there for the law? Will christ come back to refulfill it? Jesus didnt come to destroy the law, but to fulfill it. Yes, while Jesus was alive, he didnt disobey the law. He lived by it, that was the was to fulfill it. The principles found in the law is still good for us all. However, it has lost its authority as a means to weigh righteousness. But we can learn something from it even today.

There are principles in the law that is of interest to us all. However, had that man continually followed Jesus, he would come to know when the law finally ended. Jesus could even at that time state that any who follow him be circumcised. But later, that was no longer required. why? because Jesus death ended the law. Remember if you adhere to the law as a means for justification, you are obligated to keep every single pin of that law. Not just the weekly sabbath, but even other more that 7 sabbatical system. Do you keep all those?

Thats true, telos does not only mean termination. but Vine's Dictionary that the above mentioned did not agree with the writers application of telos. The definition of telos that was taken is the fifth one. In Vine's work, he explained Rom 10;4 with Gal. 3:23-26 as the best explanation for that Romans 10:4. And verse 25 of that Galatians is in support of the law being out of the way. I understand the point the reference you quoted is making, I only wonder why the writer is not seeing the point since he read Vine's dictionary.

Paul stated that Christ is the end of the law, he continued by saying that anyone exercising faith may have righteousness. If you check verse 5, you ll notice that Paul quoted the law. That portion quoted conveys the sense that you can be righteous if you observe ALL the laws. However, the law of faith has a different slogan. That by such confession of faith in Christ, one can be saved. Now, not saved by obeying the Law, but saved by the law of faith. Paul drew a contrast from the law and faith. He was not linking the two. This agrees with the conclusion that telos there should be translated "end".

Yes
The sabbath was instituted by God before the fall of Man. it Was
God who gave us our 7days a week calendar so Saturday will exist.

Genesis 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

You will agree that the 7thday in this verse is not figurative.

How can fulfill mean to abolish?
Will that not make Jesus a liar. because that same Jesus said he has not come to abolish the law but to fulfill it.

What is the sense in saying I have not come to abolish the law but to abolish it.
It means that Christ

So, you are saying that there morning and evening in heaven, and that God has a cloth in heaven? These exist only in the physical universe, not in heaven. If the sabbath law was to hold in heaven. know that it is not just the weekly sabbath that law recommends, there are others.

The writeup of Isaiah is prophetic. Dont think that God is going to use the jewish calendar with its lunar months.

Who created Morning and evening, the Sun and moon to rule each time of the day?

God created the Sabbath for a purpose which is a memorial of his creation.
are you telling me that God was naive when he instituted the Sabbath day or that he did not know there was no day and night in Heaven?

Stop confusing yourself the 7sabbatical Sabbaths were not part of the 10commandments hence they were done away with the death of Jesus.
but the 10commandments were written by the finger of God and are eternal.
Is there anytime in this life or another that bowing to idols and other gods or using the name of God in vain would stop been sin?

If the answer is no than why is the sabbath commandment different?
Does man have the power to change God's law or pick the one he wishes to obey or not?

I ve heard that position before. however, I think that is not consistent with the rest of the scriptures. For example, talking about the law being done away with, see what Roms 7:6,7 says

"But now we have been released from the Law, because we have died to that which restrained us, in order that we might be slaves in a new sense by the spirit and not in the old sense by the written code.
7 What, then, are we to say? Is the Law sin? Certainly not! Really, I would not have come to know sin had it not been for the Law. For example, I would not have known covetousness if the Law had not said: “You must not covet."

Paul gave the example of the law we were released from. it includes the ten commandment.

All the commandments in the law are still part of the law that if you fail one, you fail all. Jesus did mention that the second greatest commandment is love for neighbor (matt 22:39). Is that command part of the 10 commandments? So, you are implying that in the future, love for neighbor, the second greatest, will be done away with? That is just one, their many beautiful commandments in the law that are not of the 10.

All these are part of the commands done away with. like, i said before, it does not mean that its principles are not relevant today. it is.

Romans 3:31.

verse 27 answers, "Law of faith". Christians are declared righteous by this law of faith, which is also the law of Christ. verse 28 explands by stating that it is not by works, ie, works of the mosaic law, but by faith. verses 29, and 30 shows that it is by this law of faith that someone uncircumcised is declared righteous. That would be against the law had the law been in force.

I know, and part of James point is that they were not obeying the love of neighbor law. (see verse cool but that law is not part of the ten. It is even more important than the others mentioned there. Yet, you cant observe neighborly love in isolation of the other laws mentioned there.

Happy New and rewarding Year to you CaveAdullam. I am filled with awe, even, still, long after finding out the meaning of your moniker.

I digress, but back to the new year 2020. Not many have thought of the significance of 20, actually repeating itself in this new year, you know repeating just like in those sort of "truly, truly ..." John 1:51, John 3:3 etcetera Johannine biblical intro phrases, and the thing is, it is repeating itself for a "credible" and truthfully significant reason(s). Yeah, its the season thanks to one mister PrecisionFx, for getting me to use the word "credible" here, lol. "Credible" is in vogue thanks to him, lol. Anyway, as I was saying, the new year, apparently is sounding off a robust and/or uncompromising message(s) to whom and/or those applicable, by deliberately and consciously repeating the number twenty twice.

I know there's the negative and positive sides of the number 20, but I strongly believe that because of the 20 repetition being done, in this case, twice, then this year is really all about the positives, and so its identifying with those, more so than with the negatives.

For the sake of twenty, God will not destroy (i.e. Genesis 18:31, lol) Happy rewarding 2020, CaveAdullam.

With that said and done, here's a Happy 2020 to the, our ọga, at the top, Seun.

verse 27 answers, "Law of faith".

Which one is neighborly love?
So you do not know that the two new commandments Jesus gave to love God and ones Neighbor are tied to the 10commandments and they are eternal?

Matthew 22:35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, 22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 22:38 This is the first and great commandment. 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

How can you obey God and love your neighbor without obeying the 10commandments?
The only evidence of you loving God is by you know using his name in vain, bowing to other gods, keeping the sabbath.
Also the only evidence that you love your neighbor is that you so not lie against your neighbor, steal, kill, covert your neighbors wife .e.t.c

As you can see the love commandments has the 10commandments as its foundation and God is love hence it can never be done away with.

All these are part of the commands done away with. like, i said before, it does not mean that its principles are not relevant today. it is.

matt 22:39

You make me laugh. all you do is cut and join Bible verses without making consistent points.

Please define Sin?

Stop confusing yourself, mixing or seeing all the word law in Bible as referring to the 10commandments.

Which one is law of faith?

Paul has already told you that faith does not nullify the law rather that we should establish the law.

You read out of context.
Paul is simply saying that we have been released from the penalty of the law which is death.
Remember that people were stoned to death for breaking any of the 10 commandments.
Why because the wages of Sin is death.

Paul asked the people that since we are no longer to stone people are we now allowed to continue to sin(break the law) he gave the answer as no. rather we should establish that is keep the law.

Remember God cannot change, what God called and saw as sin 10000yrs ago he still regards as sin today.

If people were stoned for breaking the sabbath, committing adultery stealing, disobeying parents.
then tell me why they would not be punished by God for doing the same now?

How can the law be done away with when Jesus died, since it was to uphold that very law that Jesus had to die?

How do we know what Jesus will do and not do?

Me you and billions of people did not have the priveldge of meeting Jesus.

So how do we know things we can do and things we are not allowed to do in order not to offend Jesus?

Don't we have detailed explanation of what may offend Jesus listed in The Gospels According to Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, with the Holy Spirit's direction?

I stole a Bible in order to read and know God did I commit Sin?
