I don't wanna join issues with uncultured being like you sir, i wasn't the one who denied you admission into Great Ife, so bros pack well. I'm just being grateful to be culturally breeded in OAU.
Why is it that this is the natural go to of OAU student when their school gets criticized? Foi, all those schools he listed are not only far above OAU, but also above all Nigerian universities put together, no b mouth, visit those schools and you will realize Nigerian schools are nothing but big villages

I am not hating but I am not sure you know what international universities look like. In Nigeria, I have been to UI, UNN, FUTO, Delsu and Uniben. In Canada I have been to Concordia University, University of Western Ontario, York University and University of Toronto.

The truth is that the only thing Nigerian Universities may be able to mouth about is landmass. If it's beauty or how they are set up, I am sorry to say that we are not even remotely close to some international colleges let alone international universities.

Some universities have classes and auditoriums that are much more luxurious than some Nigerian four/five star hotel's Auditoriums. See, leave matters. Nigerian leaders need to wake up. We are soo soooo far behind. The first thing you notice when you leave Naija is that most things wey we take dey big up, na just normal life to other countries.

The good thing is that after coming out of our bastardized Nigerian Universities, we some how manage to do well in these international universities(though it sets us back a bit, so we have to work harder than our colleagues).
Don't mind useless Nigerian students with no sense, always boasting about landmass, tell them to upload their classes and laboratories, they can't. Even top universities in the world don't have huge landmass, land that should be used for more productive things.

Don't mind him. In the recently completed law school graduation, ui sent 150 students to law school, 26 came bacj6with a first class while OAU sent 250 and 13 returned with first class. In terms of research, only the nascent Covenant University can compete with ui, OAU no even near at all, you can check all research websites Scopus, elsevier etc.
Ife was very good in the first few decades of its existence, then brain drain came under Ibrahim Babangida - which affected all - it gradually started becoming empty noise. However, one need to realise that a large chunk of the student population are often brilliant kids from remote villages, so pardon the loud noise. You need to see them trooping in to Ife town from all corners at the beginning of the semester. Most of these have never seen any real university campus so Ife remains the only barometer. UI near them, most of them have never seen. One of several examples, a friend from Ife was from Ijan Ekiti, graduated from Ife, served in Benue & worked in Ibadan for few years & told me he was just entering UI for the first time early this year. Unilag? Lailai, I doubt if the guy won't even get lost in Ojota if just by himself. Yet he can loudly analyse all our universities as an 'expert'. Again, to avoid generalisation, the points here have lots of exceptions so it's not a blanket opinion.

Let me leave story. The big five remain the big five and when you cut off the propaganda, manipulations & ego tripping they are all about the same level generally - UI, ABU, UNILAG, UNN and OAU.

You'd hardly find an OAU grad that is jobless. You just can't be jobless if you manage to graduate from Ife.Evm me that wasn't that serious in school I still got my dream job. Same with one of my closest friends that studied another course in school. In fact, we both have our deeam jobs and I know it'ssame story for a whole lot of other OAU grads here
foleskay:

Lol. So people attended oau to learn and later struggle in life, judging by your sch motto. No wonder many oau students are jobless despite being brilliant. I now see why.

when you grow up,come back

If you know U.I very well, you will know that U.I electrification is underG.

Also, your first and second VC were just ordinary professor in U.I when OAU was established just like 1/2 of U.I man power was dashed to unilag after establishment.UNILORIN itself was a college to U I.You can only be comparing yourself with the likes of UNILORIN, UNILAG,UNN and ABU not U.I.

U.I is in a league of her own!

Lol, there is only one great ife, may be you should check webometrics rating of universities and stop petty sentiment.

To think that setting up of OAU was done by Nigerians and to see that its aesthetic beauty can stand with any international university is enough reason to bekubel that there is nothing we can't achieve if we decide to get things right.

Yes setting up was done by Nigerians but not built by Nigerians, at least most of the buildings were built by foreigners. The Lebanese and Israeli did wonderful jobs!

Indeed, when it comes to campus beauty and serenity in Nigeria, a magnificent West African estate, the OAU, comfortable sits on top.

With a perfect blend of inspiring architecture and nature, the university is overlooked by a touristic mountain from where the Nigerian academic giant can be viewed in a glance. The planning of the school is such that there are special designated areas for academics, hostels, sports, banking, markets, staff quarters, a university farm etc.

Rumor has it that this citadel of learning is well on its way (if it already hasn't) to generate her own independent power supply that will help boost adequate research activities. This is expected to translate into better global ranking for the university in the coming years.

The University, which also has produced numerous notable alumni including the current president of the African Development Bank, Akinwunmi Adesina, is perhaps the only one such in the country where some form of space research takes place.

These are some random aerial and other pictures from "Great Ife" as it is fondly called.
