I love this car for its efficiency, durability and fuel economy but it's the last car I would use my money to buy.. what a thief magnet ( even when stationary).

But isn't there a way someone can lock up the wheels of these cars when parked, so even if the thief gets access to the ignition, he can't unlock the wheels

Another reason to buy a Honda instead.

I hope the car is comprehensively insured?

Tracking involves immobilization of car if stole.

They wil keep this vehicle somewhere till everything goes down. Then look for either a soldier or police to convey it to another state.

Not even now police are not fully functional. Post the purchasing papers containing the chassis should Incase anyone sees it.

They will sell it as parts.

Hot cars like this corolla should have minimum of 2 trackers. The decoy one and a main one.
The decoy one could be the one that is expensive and connected to the electrical system. Ie the one that can disable the car. That is the one criminals search for and disconnect.
You should then have the principal one. It could be one of those cheap ones on aliexpress 5-10$. You can "plug and play" into your obd 11 port or even your cigarette lighter.
Anyway hopefully you get you car back IJN.

There is steering lock. But having to do this all the time is not convenient. I has a steering lock for my camry but I seldom use it maybe cause I had a super alarm system.

Chances are this car will be butchered and sold for parts.

Seems like if you drive a 2003-2007 Corolla, you need to install not only a tracker but anti-burglary alarms on it. Park it in a garage and not hang out at night.

You actually can Bro depends on the position of the tracker. By the way, the idea of a tracker is to get to the car, probably disable it before it's dismantled

Do you know how many cars are in Lagos alone? 24 is less than 0.0003% of the cars in Lagos. Not a good survey sample.

Get and post the chassis and the engine numbers as well. the chassis number is very important.

What if they have removed the license plate and resprayed it? How would one identify it without you sharing engine number, chassis details and all?

Do you know that Sophiscated car jackers dey punch new chassis number

Or shipped to another country and sold at ridiculous rate

A larger percentage of cars brought in Africa are stolen cars especially luxury cars

That's why I always advice people to install Kill Switch and high end tracking system and possibly a steering rack lock in their automobile
