Allansmith:
Good Morning everyone...

Please my 1yr nd 7months daughter has rashes on her arm plus her face and forehead and then lately started having boils all over even on her eye lid and it's giving me worries but friends are saying it's her own pattern of teething that some babies stool alot while teething...am thinking of giving her antibiotics is this okay... though she is taking Babyrex at the moment but the book increasing is my worry...

Please help advice on what can be done.

I’m of the opinion that it has very little to do with teething itself. Boils especially is not related. Rashes could be as a result of sweating a lot on the area. I believe she should be active at that age. Teething can lead to mild fever cos of the pain. However stooling associated with it is as a result to the unclean hands and objects they put in their mouth in an attempt soothe the itch and pain.

For the boils; I recommend original ampiclox suspension. If u keep strictly to the timing, it dries up boils like magic. But u MUST time and follow up STRICTLY. Otherwise, it could dry up the current ones but another might crop up. Strict follow up with timing stops recurrence. This is my observation thus far.

As for the rashes; Rashes always takes it’s toll and go. It only worsens if it’s opened and infected. Apply prickly heat or agnesia powder after bath, morning and evening, as many times as she baths. No need to overly scrub the rashes. Dry the area frequently of sweat when she’s playing. Keep her cool as much as possible. It’ll run it’s time and go.

Breastfeeding whilst pregnant doesn’t harm any. U just have to eat well and be untop of your vitamin game. Fruits and veggies included. Just keep yourself up to demand and your good to go.
Thanks for the input

Please experienced mothers. What should be used on baby's navel after the stump falls off.
My mom says to use baby mentolatum, but I'm a bit sceptical about it. I need your inputs please.

Hello mothers who still have their maiden names as surname in the house! How did you go about your child(ren) birth certificate. Did you use your names as is it or include hubby's surname too?

I asking to know if its going to raise eyebrows especially when one intends to travel out.

you should research the country you are going to. In England for instance, the baby is by default in hospital given the surname of the mother.... so if all your Identity documents still have your maiden name, that is what the child will be named as. when you go to officially register the birth, you would need to show some proof that you are married, otherwise the baby WILL NOT automatically get the father's name. it may not even
state the father especially of the father is not present at the time of either birth or registration of the birth. (No eyebrows raised anywhere - only in naija embassy or high commission when you want to get naija passport - however a letter from the father with his details etc will usually be ok to move things along)

so it may be useful to carry the original copy and a duplicate of your marriage certificate on hand. and perhaps copies of Passport details of the your husband. as the minimum

Also research the country you are going to give birth in as each one may have slightly different requirements.
If you say where you are headed, others who have experience of said country will chip in.

PS if you are going to the USA, bear in mind that each state will have a different criteria, so you need to know what is required for that particular state.

Clean as often as possible using methylated spirit and cotton wool. I used menthelatum too. It's mild on babies.

Good morning Mamas, does anyone know what could be the cause and possibly cure to this irritation on my baby’s body? I noticed it early December and I initially felt it’s the weather cause we stay in Abuja. It kept spreading and I had to complain to the doctor and she prescribed tribotan. I used it for 2 weeks and I saw no changes instead it kept spreading the more. I visited the hospital on Monday and another cream was prescribed, of which I was told to observe for 2 weeks. I’m currently using the cream but I’ll like to know if the cause could possibly be something I’m not doing right. I’ll rwall appreciate your inputs as it’s making me worry
