Diera is more of the shopping centre and easy to access but the one on kuwait street u will not see many nigerians there and u will need to take a train to access the shopping area. It depends on you and the purpose u are travelling. If just for pleasure kuwait street is okay but for business and pleasure diera is a better option.

Family / Re: Disposable Or Washable Diaper Which Is Better by rexxx: 6:22pm On Dec 28, 2012
The reason of this thread is to expose people to the idea that washable diapers have improved and is now more easy to use for example you don't need to use safety pin and the nappy are just shape like sanitary pads so u are not washing any big towel. How many families can afford to spend so much on disposable diaper. A cartoon of huggies diaper goes for between 8k to 10k. How many families can afford to spend so much. Washable diaper has advantages from economical to environmental advantages so why won't one consider it as an option
Family / Disposable Or Washable Diaper Which Is Better by rexxx: 2:50am On Dec 28, 2012
Let get your opinion on which diaper you prefer and why.

Washable or reusable cloth diaper
The reusable cloth diaper isn’t what it used to be.  Some cloth diapers now have double or triple layers and a multiply, fiber-filled strip, making them more absorbent than older styles. Some styles of cloth diapers now come with Velcro strips, eliminating the need for those large safety pins.  You can easy wash them at home using your hand or washing machine.

Disposable diaper
There are also various types and styles of disposable diapers, ranging from simple plastic covered paper diapers to the newest high-tech, cartoon covered, absorbent gel material filled, elastic legged disposables.

The question now which one do you prefer and also will use considering our economic environment

Babies basically have loose stools for the first few months of life, so changing a newborn 7 times a day is not unheard of. Slowly, frequency begins to consolidate, reducing to as few as 4 diaper changes a day by four months of age.
That’s a whopping 1,470 diapers in 365 days if we use 4 diaper change a day. These cost can be reduced by using washable nappies. Cloth nappies have evolved over the years and have become easy and very convinent to use. No more pins and large towels. Find attach a pix of what it looks like now. Trainers pant is another money saver, when u are ready to potty train u start wearing the child washable trainers pant instead of the disposable ones. The disposables could be used when taking the child out of the home.

Just going through the responses and am wondering how will naija problem get solved with comments like this above. We do not have the do it yourself altitude. Have you asked yourself actually how wipes are made. Paper rolls are actually thicker than tiolet rolls. If wipes are 200naira and you use it till a baby is two or sometimes three and you learn how to eliminate that cost.....guess one would have save something worthwhile after that period
Family / Money Saving Tips For Our Homes by rexxx: 7:12am On Dec 27, 2012
This thread would like to compile some helpful tips for saving money in our homes especailly for mothers and mothers to be.You can actually reduce your expenses by finding alternates to items that we spend lots of money on,considering the economic environment we find ourselves presently in the country. Let's share our individual money saving tip it could be a life saver to someone. Thanks
Tip: Do you know there are lots of things we could do ourselves instead of buying. Take babywipes for example, homes with new borns and toddlers spend a fortune purchaing this item. You can actually do it yourself in just 20mins.

What You Need

Round plastic container

Thick, strong roll of white paper towels

Sharp knife to cut paper towel roll in half

2 cups water that has been boiled and cooled to room temperature

2 Tablespoons baby shampoo or baby wash
1 Tablespoon of baby oil

Here's How:

1. Cut the roll of paper towels in half with a knife and remove the inner cardboard core.

2. Mix liquid ingredients in container.
Place the paper towels in the container with the cut side facing downward.

3.Secure lid tightly and allow to sit until all liquid is absorbed into the paper towels.

4.Turn the container upside-down and allow to sit for 10 minutes.

5.Open container and 'start' the roll by pulling a towel from the inside of the roll.

Wipes are now ready to use.

Tips:

Save the other half of the roll for use next time you make wipes

Make sure the container is closed tightly after each use to prevent drying out.

Try it out and post comment and results
