The Presidency says the Federal Government used what it termed “backchannel negotiations” to facilitate the release of pupils of Government Girls Science Technical College (GGSTC), Dapchi, Yobe State.

This was according to Mansur Dan Ali, Minister of Defence, and Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture, who briefed State House Correspondents shortly before the commencement of the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday.

The Presidency in a statement via its official Twitter handle, further confirmed that no ransome was paid to secure the release of the girls.

Listen to one of the early standouts off Wiz Khalifa’s new mixtape called “No Dirt.” Wiz Khalifa has been relatively quiet when it comes to releasing new projects over the past couple years.

Sure he dropped off 2 small EP’s this Summer with Pre-Rolleds & Bong Rips in June, and also shared an album called Khalifa last year, which acted kinda like a compilation project from T.G.O.D., but the last time the Pittsburgh native treated fans to a mixtape of his own was back in 2015 with Cabin Fever 3.

Soon right after, Wiz quickly went to teasing & promoting his Rolling Papers 2 album, and even though we’re two years removed from his first initial tweet about it, the album has yet to arrive.

A couple weeks ago, Wiz informed us that the album was finally done, but before we’re treated to it he’s going to release a new mixtape first on November 10th called Laugh Now Fly Later, which happened to have just surfaced a little while ago now that that day is here.

The 10-track project is led by the previously heard single “Letterman” and features an alone appearance from West Coast rapper Casey Veggies, who appears on the intro track “Royal Highness.”

Looking to highlight one the new records, here goes one the early standouts called “No Dirt.” Going in over the bass-heavy, Sledgren-produced beat, Wiz isn’t about that low-grade weed here, and raps about his luxurious lifestyle & flower.

He even calls out the whack artists in the industry in the process, rapping “Gotta be sharp, the game’s filled with whack artists/ I ain’t hating on you dawg, get yours, but don’t ever think I’m convinced.”

Highlighted by its laid-back vibe & effortless rhymes, “No Dirt” is another strong addition to Wiz’s growing catalog of weed records. Suggest you roll up and enjoy the new vibes. Laugh Now, Fly Later available now on iTunes.

Listen to the only collab off Future & Young Thug’s new project with “Patek Water” featuring Offset. It’s safe to say Young Thug & Future’s relationship has been a working process over the years. From dissing one another on tracks in 2015 to a couple twitter exchanges last year, Future & Thugger were not always a fan of each other.

Hell just last February, when Future announced that he was dropping his EVOL mixtape on the same day as Thugger’s Im Up tape, Thugger clapped back by saying “boy slow down dropping all that BS music,” which caught Future’s attention who responded with “Yo bitch wish u was me…in real life.” Thugger didn’t like that one, and responded back with “yo family/team wish u was me lil nigga….”

But thankfully all that BS is in the past now and the two superstars are on the same side. After connecting on records like “Relationship” & Chris Brown’s “High End” recently, the two ATL superstars decided to come through today & release a new joint mixtape called Super Slimey which was announced just hours earlier on Thursday.

Looking to highlight one of the 13 new songs, here goes an early standout from the tape called “Patek Water,” featuring the lone appearance from Migos’ rapper & Cardi B boyfriend Offset. Going in over production from Southside, DY & Rex Kudo, the three ATLiens rep the luxurious watch company to the fullest and boast about their money & icy jewelry in the process.

All three of these rappers kill their respective verses, but I personally think Offset might take the crown here for dopest rhymes, switching up his flow & showing off his triple-time rhyme scheme per usual.

Its music video came out September 29th. In it, Adam plays a butcher stalking a woman (played by his wife).

Both the video’s premise and final scenes have attracted controversy for their sexual content, liberal blood use, and perceived glamorization of unhealthy relationships.

Rapper Kendrick Lamar returns the favor to U2 with his assistance on “Get Out Of Your Own Way.” Kendrick Lamar and U2 are undoubtedly one of the strangest collaborations of 2017. The second the DAMN.

tracklist surfaced with only Rihanna and U2 as the project’s two features, many were curious to where Kendrick and U2 may find a musical middle ground. Nonetheless, they shocked the world with “Bleep.” Today, they’ve reunited for a track on U2’s forthcoming project with “Get Out Of Your Own Way.”

U2 just dropped off the latest release off of Songs of Experience, their fourteenth studio album and the follow up to 2014’s Songs of Innocence. It’s exactly what you’d expect from U2, it’s a radio-friendly rock tune that’s aimed to please the 40+ demographic.

However, the interesting part of the song has they included a surprise appearance from Compton’s own Kendrick Lamar. If you’re expecting Kendrick to come through with a high-powered, motor mouth verse, you’ll be highly disappointed. Instead, Kung Fu Kenny pops up on the song’s outro with a profound spoken word piece.

Kendrick offers humility in his few bars, addressing stardom and wealth and the reality that comes with it. If you’re not a huge U2 fan, you’ll still be impressed with Kendrick’s contributions to the song.

Kendrick’s made a significant amount of appearances this week. On Monday, Rich The Kid dropped off the video for “New Freezer” with Kendrick. Prior to that, he popped up on Rapsody’s “Power” video off of Laila’s Wisdom. He was also spotted shooting an upcoming video for “Doves In The Wind” with SZA this past week. Despite the fact he hasn’t really dropped off any new music since his album, he’s still been working.

Minneapolis rapper LA has scored a big feature on his new single "I Made It," getting some help from the ultra-prolific Trap God Gucci Mane. LA definitely comes off as someone who may have been taking notes throughout Gucci Mane's run, as he proves on a hook that is as simple as it is catchy. While the writing and structure of the aspirational record sound reminiscent of Gucci's (or even Jeezy's) well-worn formula, LA makes up the difference with a confrontational delivery that puts him at odds with the current wave of melodic rappers -- ultimately, it works to his favor.
