Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has continued to receive more endorsements for a second term in office, as former councillors in the state under the auspices of Ex-Councillors Forum, between 1999-2015, unanimously agreed to rally support for his re-election in 2019. The ex-legislators, who gathered in their numbers at the Government House, Enugu on a solidarity visit, said their decision was based on Gov. Ugwuanyi’s outstanding performance in office, especially “in the areas of infrastructural provisions, workers’ welfare, restoration of political stability and above all, the creation of enabling environment for peace and security in Enugu State”. Moving the motion for the endorsement of the governor for a second term in office, Hon. Barr. Ike Owoh, who represented Abia Ward in Udi Local Government Area, between 1999-2002, stated that he was constrained to move the motion to enable the governor “to continue with his good works in Enugu State”. Seconding the motion moved by Hon. Owoh, the former councillor who represented Oduma Ward II in Aninri L.G.A (2007-2015) Rt. Hon. Nwafor-Odii Onyii Tunde, said he was “driven by unreserved sincerity and honesty of heart with the utmost conviction” that Gov. Ugwuanyi has “performed excellently in this first tenure of his governance of the most peaceful state of the federation – Enugu State”. Hon. Nwafor-Odii stressed that the governor “beyond any human imagination, deserves a non negotiable second tenure in the office as consented to by the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (1999) as amended”. “On this brief note therefore, I speak unequivocally to second the perfectly delivered motion of endorsement of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi (Gburugburu) by my colleague, as our number one and only candidate for 2019 governorship election so as to accomplish all his well directed visions and mission for the people of Enugu State”, he seconded. Adopting the motion unanimously, after it was put to a voice vote by the leader of the forum, Hon. Chidiebere Okoh, the ex-councillors endorsed Gov. Ugwuanyi for a second term in office and also presented the Endorsement Certificate to him as a symbol of their support and noble resolution. They reassured the governor of their firm commitment to mobilize and campaign vigiourosly for his electoral victory in the 2,956 polling units, declaring: We are ever ready to fight the battle for you”. Earlier, in his remark, the group’s coordinator, Rt. Hon. Kizito Awalu, applauded Gov. Ugwuanyi for his absolute faith in God, and congratulated him, on behalf of his colleagues, on the historic victory recorded by the Rangers International Football Club of Enugu, in the finals of the NFF/AITEO Federation Cup, pointing out that it was a clear manifestation that governor always trusts his faith in God. Gov. Ugwuanyi, who thanked the elated ex-legislators for their solidarity, goodwill and support, reassured them of his administration’s commitment to the growth and development of the state. Over 25 people killed as police extortion causes accident in Osun More than 25 people lost their lives, around 11:50am yesterday, after a truck rammed into 4 vehicles at a police checkpoint along Erin Ijesha-Akure road, Osun State. According a survivor, Prince Adegbite, 3 private cars and an 18-seater commercial bus were crushed by the beer truck, with about 25 people dying instantly. He claimed that a gridlock had formed as a result of the extortion activities of the policemen at the checkpoint, making it possible for the truck to crush the vehicles, after its driver lost control. He added that what baffled him most was that all the policemen fled, immediately the accident happened, and it was the civil defence, FRSC officials and some soldiers who came to help evacuate the victims. Former Enugu State governor, Sullivan Chime, has said the 2019 general elections will be ‘war’ in the state, because his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) is ready to square it up with the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Chime, who spoke after his inauguration as Chairman of the APC Reconciliation Committee in Enugu, yesterday, said there were bound to be grievances after primaries in any party, particularly in the third world, unless such a party was dead. He expressed delight with the rancour-free manner the primaries were organised in the state and noted that some aggrieved persons pursued their cases in the most civilised way, as stipulated by the party. The former governor dispelled insinuations that the governorship ticket of the party was contentious, stressing that there was no parallel candidates’ list from the state in the party’s national headquarters. “If you’re going into an election and the opposition is happy with the candidates you selected, know it that you’ve lost that election; but if they’re jittery; it means you’ve done a good job. “We are going into the 2019 elections from the position of strength. We will go round and appeal to aggrieved people, and by the grace of God, they will listen and accept. We must have a way of appeasing everybody. We can’t go into this election which I call ‘war’ divided. We will surely go into it strong. I believe before the end of this year, we would have a united party; we’ll campaign together and shame the opposition,” Chime said. Inaugurating the six-man committee, State Chairman of the party, Dr Ben Nwoye, said their task was to calm frayed nerves arising from the just concluded party primaries in the state. He tasked the committee to ensure they reached the aggrieved persons and their aides, including aspirants who may have defected to other political parties. He named Chief Gbazueagu Nweke Gbazueagu, former Gombe State military administrator, Group Capt. Joe Orji (red) and Chief Pascal Agubuzor as some of those who had left the party, while Director General of the Voice of Nigeria (VON), Osita Okechukwu, is still pursuing his petition at the party headquarters. Nwoye also warned that anybody caught engaging in anti-party activities would face the full weight of the law. Meanwhile, Enugu State Secretary of APC, Chief Robert Eze, has assured the public that there is no crisis in the party. Chief Eze made the declaration in a chat with Daily Sun at the party’s house in Obollo-Afor, Udenu Local Government Area, yesterday, during a meeting of stakeholders of the party. He said the party has been able to conduct a credible and transparent primaries in the state, which produced candidates in all the political positions in the 2019 general elections. “The APC primaries in Enugu State was a peaceful one. Senator Ayogu Eze emerged as the gubernatorial candidate. It made those sponsored by PDP and other interest groups to come together, align and re-align to get one person as the flag-bearer. All the aggrieved persons have come together to work for one person.” Asked why there are three governorship candidates from APC with each claiming to be the authentic candidate, Chief Eze said, “in any political party, there is what we call nuisance value. There are people who want to sink the money given to them by the opposition party. “We have the people who actually came in, not necessarily to win the election, but to make noise and showcase themselves, knowing their nuisance value. “One of the gubernatorial candidates scored two votes and he is shouting, telling everybody that he won the primary election. Somebody scored one, the other person seven and the other person eight. “The person who scored above 100 votes did not make noise, but somebody who scored one vote is saying he has won the election. I want to make it clear to you that most of them are not registered members of APC, ab initio. They jumped in to destabilise APC in Enugu State.” Source: 042report http://042report.com/2019-elections-ex-gov-chime-declares-war-on-ugwuanyi-and-pdp/

The Enugu State Governor’s wife, Mrs. Monica Ugwuanyi has advised parents, especially the mothers, to ensure proper immunization of their children at designated hospitals to enhance their health status as future leaders. Mrs. Ugwuanyi urged the women to document the process of the immunization by ensuring that the dose given to their children is recorded in their cards and presented to the doctors whenever it was time for the routine exercise to avoid double dosage. The Enugu Governor’s wife, who gave the advice during the flag off of the first round of 2018 Maternal, New Born and Child Health week, held at the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) Teaching Hospital (Parklane), Enugu, also advised the women to make it a point of duty to take their children to hospitals when they fall sick for proper treatment. She appealed to them to keep their children and environments clean, advising: “anytime you want to clean a child’s mouth, wash your hands properly and make sure that the towels are clean. In case the towel falls down drop it, children are very delicate and should be treated with care”. Earlier in his speech, the state commissioner for health, Dr. Fintan Ekochin, expressed delight that Gov. Ugwuanyi’s administration has continued to sustain the tempo of the immunization programme in the state “because of the type of governor we have – a leader who ensures that good things are upheld while other good ones that were not present are also brought to the state”. He stated that because of the governor’s commitment and unrelenting efforts in the health sector, child and maternal mortality has dropped drastically in the state. http://042report.com/enugu-governors-wife-advises-women-on-proper-immunization-of-children/

Why 2019 elections may not hold – Wike Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers State has said that he is not sure elections will hold in 2019 following recent happenings in the country. Wike said this while hosting a group of lawyers under the aegis of class 84 of the Nigerian law school at the government house, Port-Harcourt, the state capital. He said the time had come for Nigerians to rise and speak up against the wrongs being perpetrated in Nigeria He said: “The judiciary has been so much intimidated. It is unfortunate that the Nigerian Bar Association gave out themselves when they saw the intimidation of the judiciary, instead of them to rise and to say look, we can’t accept this. “Today, because of fear and intimidation, it is difficult for any judge to sit and say I want to write a judgement, it doesn’t matter what will be. “Then the security will come and tell you we saw N1million in your account, come and explain, and the judge will say, instead of this embarrassment, let me do what they want me to. “With the way it is now, I don’t know whether there will be elections in 2019.” He urged Nigerians to hold gatherings that will proffer solutions to the problems bedeviling the country even as elections drew near. @042report http://042report.com/why-2019-elections-may-not-hold-wike/

Something has badly gone wrong with the APC gubernatorial candidate of Enugu state, Senator AYOGU EZE. The onetime spokesperson of the Senate has lost colours. Ayogu was merely not himself sitting before the vibrant Seun Akigboloye of Channels TV Yesterday evening on CHANNEL TV SUNDAY POLITICS. The interviewer did not help matters but escalated the situation by bombarding the restless senator with very difficult questions. Read as follows: "Are you sure your name is in the list?" And Ayogu could not emphatically clear himself. He obviously felt more shaken when the interviewer reminded him that many APC chieftains do not yet support his candidacy. The worst was the answer he gave when asked if he thinks that he Ayogu has the personal popularity to unseat the sitting Governor Ugwuanyi. And Ayogu answered "it is about the people ". What that means he could not explain. And this made the interviewer to remind him that he Ayogu has been obviously absent from politics of Enugu state which Ayogu almost accepted in awe. Too bad for a man who wants to be a governor. "What is the name of your ward chairman?" ... And Ayogu stammered to say "Sombody Ezugwu'. He obviously did not know. He again said that he will install cable cars to enhance tourism in Enugu state. Imagine this .....as if state tourism is about merry-go-round. Another watery comment from him is that he will bring in "donors" for investment in the state instead of giving an idea into state revenue generation. Ayogu is obviously not psychological prepared for the drills of contesting any election. Probably he only wants to run for the governorship as a away to continue the "battle" between him and Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi that started about 4yrs ago he lost in the PDP primary contest. Frankly, Ayogu Eze will make worse his political image if he continued with this contest -- ofcourse quitting at this early stage would earn him a more reputable cum honourable status. http://042report.com/ayogu-eze-alledgely-facing-political-confusion-as-he-fidgets-on-tv/

SUMMARY OF NNAMDI KANU LIVE FACEBOOK POST . He thanked all those that are helping IPOB. He promised to name those they were saboteurs, in the near future. He said he was not a fugitive , but that he ran away when the Federal agents came to his father's house with the intention to kill him , but ended up killing 28 people plus his dog . He said the Federal Government charged him for arms running and treason . That he did not run any arm but only have microphones as his only weapon . He said the Federal Government hijack justice by preventing him going to court to defend himself. That before the day of the hearing of the case , where he had prepared to disgraced them lawfully and to expose the alleged charges against him , that they envisaged he win the Nigerian public to himself at the court ,they decided to waylaid him, in a bid to stop him from appearing and destroyed his father's house . The reason he ran away to save his life . That IPOB is still insisting on Referendum, and that only on that ground that the movement will stop their agitation, and that they will seek this agenda by pursuing local and international laws . Then he went on with aggressive ranting that the Federal Government are terrorist to the Igbo and that Naija/Deltans . That Igbo and the Naija /Deltans are brothers and sister, but that the state sponsor agenda, is to divide and rule them by planting moles and issue that will wipe up bitterness between them . He encouraged them to work together and that their movement is non -negiotaible ... Before Facebook went off when he was still talking . @Tino #042report |

Anambra Government Bans Churches From Holding Services In Public Schools he Anambra Government has banned religious bodies from using either public schools or its facilities to conduct religious services across the state. The state Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr Don Adinuba announced the ban on Friday in Onitsha. Adinuba said the ban became imperative because of the ongoing seeming ownership tussle of Bishop Crowder Memorial School, Onitsha, being contested between the state and the Diocese on the Niger, Anglican Communion. The Church, through its legal Secretary, Mr Tabugbo Anaeto, is claiming ownership of the school. Members of the Anglican Church recently staged a peaceful protest and subsequently released a statement, accusing the state government of its alleged refusal from allowing it to assume ownership of its property. Anaeto, in a statement alleged that the state government had refused to make public the report of the fact finding committee on the ownership of the school set up by former Gov. Peter Obi. But the commissioner dismissed the allegation, saying that the school established by government during the colonial era had operated since then by the state government till date.
