*FIGHT FOR THE CONTROL OF ISI-UZO PDP RAGES AS ALH SANI WOOS EDEOGA TO HIS GROUP* It is no longer news that the former gubernatorial candidate of Labour Party in the 2023 general election, Hon. Chijioke Edeoga has made his long awaited return to the PDP amidst funfair. However, his eventual return has instigated various covert and overt political activities especially in Isi-uzo local government area. Notably, Alhaji Sani Friday Nnaji, the acclaimed leader of the group opposed to Hon. Augustine Nnamani has been very swift in his quest to bring the defected Edeoga and his followers under his group. He has for months deployed the services of one of Edeoga's trusted men, Chief Eric Ebeh for the task. Onwa as he is fondly called has not disappointed in this latest assignment, he has been diligently working to align most of Edeoga's associates to the new godfather. This strategy they believe will lead to Edeoga's surrender of his group to Sani since most of his allies will willingly point to that direction. It is believed that Alh.Sani has deployed huge sums of money in luring Hon. Edeoga to his group. Just on Sunday 30th March, 2025 Hon. Edeoga and almost all his political associates were present at the Eid El Fitr celebration organized by Alhaji Sani and was rewarded by the later with huge financial donation to help host his associates after the defection. Curiously, Alhaji Sani Friday was not present at the PDP state Secretariat nor at the home of Hon. Edeoga, venue for the defection celebration but later in the middle of the night went to Hon Edeoga's House alongside his followers. Hon. Augustine Nnamani, his political godson Barr.Obiora Obeagu and the Chairman of PDP Isi-Uzo LGA, Hon. Jacob Abonyi were all present. We keep watching as this political drama unfolds.

A former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, Dr. Haruna Sanusi, and Major General Nguni, were also alleged to be involved in the defence contract and are being investigated by the agency. The investigation showed that the contracts were for the supply of arms and ammunition, provision of logistics items and equipment to the Nigerian contingents in peace keeping missions. The N35 billion was a loan bond obtained by the Ministry of Defence in June 2008 from the Debt Management Office (DMO) for provision of logistics for peace keeping missions. The investigation which was confirmed by the Spokesman of the EFCC, Mr. Tony Orilade, showed that some of the contracts were not completed while advance payments only were allegedly made. At the centre of the contract saga is Mr. Donald Peterson, Managing Director of Richfield Technologies Limited, VTB Export & Import Limited, Freerose Limited and African Integrated Services Limited. The investigation cited a statement made by Mr. Peterson “under caution” who said he had done many contracts for the Ministry of Defence which included the supply of Terrex Crane, truck recovery and communication equipment. He said he was awarded contract for the supply of communication equipment for the sum of N1,020,287,357 for the supply of truck recovery vehicle (10 tonnes) at the sum of N50,000,000 shipped from China and delivered to the Nigerian Army Depot in Lagos; supply of Terrex at the sum N269,000,000.00 which was shipped from the United States to the Nigerian Navy in Lagos; and trainer stimulator awarded at the cost of N433,317,213.00.
