The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has scheduled its screening and physical fitness assessment on recruitment for Sept. 24 to 29.

FRSC officials Mr Bisi Kazeem, the FRSC Public Education Officer, said in a statement on Friday that the screening would be conducted in all the state capitals.

Kazeem advised applicants to check their email used for submission of the applications on Sept. 19 for information on the exercise. “The email information will contain the venue, date, time of screening and required items to be taken along for the exercise,” he said.

According to him, shortlisted applicants are to come with the summary data page earlier received and email notification slip which shall admit them to the screening venue.

The FRSC image maker said that any candidate without the printout of the summary data page and notification slip for the phase of the exercise would not be admitted into the venue. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports the FRSC recruitment started on May 28, with the uploading of the application forms on FRSC recruitment portal.

In our Discussion with him, He explained How His people-Udi people called on him to represent them for the first time since Independence and also bought nomination form for him.

In His Words “My People, having not been to the senate for over 50 years, in fact since independence”. “There was an agitation that Udi people equally have competent people to represent Enugu West Senatorial zone, thus I was encouraged by my people to go and represent them”.

“I felt at this point when my people has never produced a senator, Awgu, Oji-River, Ezeagu and Aninri has produced a senator 2, 3, 2, 4 times respectively”

It is the turn of Udi to produce a Senator for the zone and I, as a son of Udi, and a loyal party member since 2002 is qualified in all angle to represent my People and hoping that our party, the PDP will read in between the line and nominate me as a matter of necessity to represent Udi. At least, for the first time, while my opponent is seeking to go for the fifth time” he said.

We asked him what was his chances of getting the party ticket, Mr. Onyema said he’s not worried by whatever anyone is doing, that the few leaders of the party in the zone that were among those that went to purchase and present nomination form to his opponent are just a figment of the party. That majority of the people of the zone that will decide are in support of him.
He also said over the years he has never betrayed the love he has for his party the PDP but they have always ranked or advices him to allow ike ekweremmadu but never fulfilled there promises afterword.

We asked him again what if PDP fails him again?

“If I fail to get the ticket of the party in a FREE AND FAIR PRIMARIES, I will go back to my practice despite the fact that even if I win, I will continue to practice”

But If the process is marred with irregularities, we will revisit their actions. I was denied in 2003, 2007 and 2011, all in the interest of the party. I concurred, but I won’t accept it this time around. I will react. I’m an Attorney of the Supreme Court, I will say no and I will demonstrate it,” he added.

Mr Onyema boasted that he have the structure in Enugu West to win the election and should their Party, the PDP, makes a mistake and give their ticket to the wrong person, they will fail.

“Let me tell you, if the PDP makes a mistake in the choice of their candidate, they will fail, this has gone beyond the party membership because for the first time, Enugu State is in the opposition to the federal Government. “ There are other parties in the state that has candidates that can win election waiting for us to make mistake”.

He said that if he had talked to Ekweremadu who is his master to step down for him because even the incumbent Governor in 2015 stepped down for Ekweremadu to return to the Senate. That he should quietly step down and bless him having served him judiciously and suffered a lot of persecution because of his loyalty to Ekweremadu.

When asked what he’s going to the Senate to do, he said he’s going to help formulate policies that will bring decorum in our society and security to the responsible citizens of the country. He said he will push “A bill for legalisation of firearms” as this will help improve the security situation of the nation.

“I have 17 bills (Which can be found on www.oauonyema.org) that are people oriented that that I will sponsor in the Senate”. “We are coming prepared because we are coming to serve”

On the possibility of him defecting to another Party, he said that it is not on his table, but if he is treated badly again in the party, he will consult his people and discuss for a way forward.

When asked the condition under which he will support Ekweremadu, Barr. Onyema said he can only support the party and by implication the Deputy Senate if he looses to him in a free and fair primary election. “My brother I will not shift ground if I loose under a free and fair primaries, I will not support any other political party.
“You know the reason? it is the same people of Enugu West that are involved in the primaries. So if I loose the primaries, it means they don’t want me and I will go home”

He also added,
I will do in a year what my mentor couldn’t do in 16yrs as i already has numerous completed projects I did on my own.

Meet Nigeria’s Oldest Prisoner.

Pa Celestine Egbunuche (left) is serving his sentence in Enugu State prison. And he is the oldest Nigerian prisoner.
Anywhere in the world, 100 years is usually marked with fanfare but not so for Nigeria’s oldest prisoner, Pa Celestine Egbunuche, who clocked 100 last Saturday; August 4, within the confines of Enugu Maximum Prison.
The centenarian, who hails from Akokwa in Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State, was condemned to death along with his son, Paul and another relation, now 78
They were said to have been engaged in a fight over a piece of land and in the process, somebody died. With such fate, Pa Egbunuche has for over 17 years lived in desolation and hopelessness.
But all hope is not lost as a non-governmental organisation, Global Society for Anti-corruption (GSAC) is pushing for his release. GSAC has appealed to the Federal Government and Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State to use their board of mercy and release Egbunuche, his 78 years old relation and son from prison.
Zonal Resource Executive of GSAC, Amaka Nweke commended Chief Judge of Enugu State, Justice Priscilla Emehelu for her recent prison visit where many inmates were granted freedom and pleaded with her to look into the case of Pa Egbunuche whom she said their investigation showed might be Africa’s oldest inmate.
According to the NGO, Egbunuche has suffered from diabetes over the years, adding that with his age and failing health, it will be proper to release him. If eventually released, the organisation would also want the Federal and State Governments to take care of Pa Egbunuche’s rehabilitation.
Experts said that in other jurisdictions, inmates above 65 years are eligible for either parole or state pardon.
Meanwhile, the inmates of enugu Maximum Prison have not had the luck of receiving Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to perform the usual granting of amnesty during ceremonial occasions like the Independence Day, Democracy Day and yuletide.
During a recent visit by our reporter, some of them claimed that they had turned a new leaf and appealed to the Governor to emulate his counterparts in Anambra, Ebonyi, and Abia by granting them amnesty.
Their cries seemed to have attracted the attention of the chief judge, Emehelu, who during the 2018 jail delivery sessions in the three prisons in the state pardoned about 130 inmates.

The Nigerian Police Force Enugu state command have arrested a notorious armed robber Chukwuebuka UmeOhanekwuru on T shirt also Known as EKWENSU(SATAN).
Speaking to 042report, Ekwensu, narrated that he was staying in Aba Abia State, where he had settled for shoe making but when things went apart and he was no longer measuring up with the challenges,he had to migrate to Enugu where ventured into selling of weed within Coal Camp.

He also disclosed that he is a cultist attached to bagger confraternity which he joined during his secondary school days, but noted that he has not gain anything positive from the membership since 2014 that he joined. Suspect is a weed dealer.

Also helping the operatives in their investigations is one Emmanuel Mbala an alleged motor mechanic at Coal Camp Enugu state. He also disclosed that he knew Chukwuebuka(Ekwensu)as he usually go to him at near st peters Anglican church field at coal camp axis to buy marijuana .

He further disclosed that he collected the gun which he was caught with, from a member of his gang.

Both Ekwensu and Emmanuel Mbala are regretting their acts ad are advising those wishing to trade on the part of criminality to eschew that and be law abiding.

A Zimbabwe based clergyman, Pastor Tito Wats has been arrested by the police authority for financial crime.





According to the police, Pastor Tito Wats told thousands of people that it was Jesus who appeared to him, then gave him tickets to people for $500 especially sinners so that they could also enter heaven.

South East Governors meet in Enugu on Dr. Alex Ekwueme's Burial



The Governors of the South East geopolitical zone met today at the Government House, Enugu, to deliberate on the preparations for the burial of the late elder statesman and former Vice President, Chief Dr. Alex Ekwueme, scheduled to hold on Friday, February 2, 2018.

Briefing journalists after the meeting, the Chairman of the South East Governors Forum and Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Umahi stated that the South East Governors are "very committed" to the programme, stressing that their presence at the gathering "underscores the seriousness the governors have attached to this important burial of our late father".

Gov. Umahi noted that the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, who was represented by his deputy, Prince Eze Madumere, was "out of the South East" and couldn't attend the meeting in person.

The Chairman of the forum added that the governors studied the budget for the burial, disclosing that the timetable was out and the details are with the Director General of the Forum.

"We as Governors of the South East have set up a Committee headed by the Director General of our forum and he has been working very hard with the members of the committee especially the committee members from Amambra State".

He said that the forum also reviewed its previous deliberations on the railway for the South East, gas to industrial zones and other issues such as the recently held South East Economic Summit.

Travelers are currently trapped along the ever-busy Asaba-Onitsha road as heavily armed security men have blocked the River Niger Bridge.

Press observed that the officers, who split themselves into groups, also blocked the Enugu – Awka highway, resulting to a heavy gridlock.

​The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Zaki has said the incident that occurred between the convoys of Governor Nyesom Wike and the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi was a mere traffic infraction.

CP Zaki, however, said contrary to widespread reports, there was no assassination attempt on the life of any of the political bigwigs.

The Rivers Police boss at a media briefing in Port Harcourt said investigation revealed that Governor Wike’s convoy was four hundred meters away from the point of the incident, adding that the Minister of Transportation had left the scene before the eventual arrival of the Governor.

CP Zaki said, “For purposes of putting the records straight and in view of the public outcry in the Media which greeted these claims, I hereby make the following clarifications;

“That on 11/11/2017 at about 1500hrs at Nkpogu junction, while the Hon. Minister of Transportation was passing through Elekahia to Nkpogu and at Nkpogu roundabout, a Police outrider in the convoy of His Excellency intercepted the Black Lexus 750 Jeep the Minister was driving just, as it was about negotiating the roundabout. The outrider was there to make way for the on coming convoy of His Excellency which was about 400 metres away.



“Police Investigation report revealed that two of the Minister’s convoy vehicles were already ahead of him while he was intercepted and stopped by the outrider.

“It is not known how the outrider fell off his Bike as dent marks on the Lexus 750 Jeep were seen on the passenger’s side of the car.

“A rowdy situation now followed with the Minister ferried by Security Agents away from the scene of the incident.

“At this point, the Governor’s convoy was not within reach to the scene of this incident.

“The Governor’s convoy eventually arrived the scene without the presence of the Hon. Minister.

“Questions were thereafter asked by the Governor’s entourage as to what happened while the last lap of Policemen from the Minister’s convoy where questioned by the CSO to the Governor as to their presence at that location and material time.

“I am aware that some altercations did occur around the scene of the incident. I wish to stress here that, the lives of the two dignitaries were not threatened as a result of this minor traffic incident.

“It is of note that, the meeting of the two convoys at that point was coincidental and has no semblance of threat to life or intention to eliminate any person.

“The Governor later proceeded to carry out a routine road inspection within the State, while the Minister attended the function that brought him to Port Harcourt.

“I want to make this abundantly clear that all acts touching on misconduct by any Policemen in the course of this incident will be thoroughly Investigated and appropriate disciplinary action taken against any person found wanting.”

Police Rescue Suspects Who Kidnapped and Rapped A Lady From Mob In Enugu

For Suspects Monday Okoro who claimed he hailed from Obinkita Arochukwu Abia state, an ex-convict recently released from Enugu Prisons because of his nefarious activities and Cohort identified as Chidiebere Oke who also claimed he hailed from Onueke Village of Ebonyi state, there lives would have been caught shot by irate mob who had descended heavily on them thereby giving them beating of their lives because of their alleged nefarious activities of swindling their female victim of some amount of money and also gang raping her and later placed her on the virge of making payment to them anytime they call her.

Their victim who happened to be a lady narrates her ordeal as follows: On that fateful day being 26/10/17 I came out from our street to Emeka Abalu in Phase Six Trans Ekulu Enugu to board a tricycle going to Enugu Town and unfortunately ran into this keke Napep with some boys and unknown to me that they are fraudsters and hoodlums operating as tricyclist and from there they started telling me that they are foreigners seeking for a certain address before I knew what was happening, I lost my consciousness and was taken to where I was gang Raped by three of them after collecting all the money in my possession. The Victim added that they later left her at that place and left but continued calling her the following day with a threat that if the remaining balance of the money is not paid that the man that owns the chemical for the production of the currency will add another money and that will be too bad for them and that she should remember the oath taking of not revealing the transaction to any body to avoid sudden death.

It was further gathered that following the incident, it was promptly reported to Trans Ekulu Division of the Nigeria Police Force Enugu state command who swung into action. While operatives was looking for them with their Keke, information got to them that same men have been uncovered by some angry mob around Park Avenue axis of the state and descended heavily on them thereby leaving them in a battered stage before the operatives got to the scene and discovered that they are the same people being looked for although the keke driver had managed to escaped from the scene with his keke before the irate mob. Suspects are helping the police operatives in their investigations in relation to their alleged fraudulent activities and Rape. They revealed that they usually hire Keke Napep and pretend as if they are Keke Napep operators within Sani Abacha Trans Ekulu and Phase six axis to enable them get their victims. Manhunt have been intensified against the fleeing Keke Napep driver.

Meanwhile, the state Command of the Nigeria Police Force is advising members of the public to weary about the antics of the hoodlums who masquarade as keke Napep operators, Taxi cabs or okada riders with a view to wrecking havoc on law abiding members of the public.

Gov. Ugwuanyi honours another Enugu indigene with 9 A1s in WAEC

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State yesterday at the hallowed chambers of the State Executive Council (EXCO) honored another indigene of the state (Amankwo Obuno, Akpugo, Nkanu West L.G.A), a 16-year-old student of Dowen College, Lagos, Miss Nnenna Eneh, who scored A1 in all the nine subjects she sat for in the 2017 West African Examinations Council (WAEC) examination.

It would be recalled that the Enugu State Government had recently honoured Miss Cynthia Chinecherem Ali, the best graduating student of Shalom Academy Nsukka in 2017, who had the same result in recognition of her outstanding academic performance.

Addressing journalists after the meeting with members of the State Executive Council, the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Uchenna Eze, who was accompanied by his counterpart in the Ministry of Information, Mr. Ogbuagu Anikwe and the student’s father, Mr. Fidelis Eneh, said that Gov. Ugwuanyi expressed delight at the brilliant performance of Miss Eneh, adding that the state government was thrilled by the number of its indigenes that are “doing wonderfully well” in academics.

The commissioner disclosed that the state government honoured her with a cash gift and certificate of recognition as an ambassador of Enugu State, stating that the gesture will motivate her further to do better in her future endeavours, as well as spur other young ones to work harder.

“With this kind of brilliant performance, we believe that the sky will be her limit and we are praying that other young ones will emulate her, as hard work is the only road to this kind of achievement. The EXCO approved a cash award and there will be a certificate of honour bearing His Excellency’s seal”, Prof. Eze said.

Responding, Miss Eneh, who was represented by her father, said she was “extremely delighted with the honour by His Excellency and the EXCO”, and thanked the governor for his commitment towards qualitative and affordable education in the state.

Mr. Eneh, regretted the absence of his daughter at the event, explaining that she would have loved to be present to personally receive the award but had travelled out of the country to further her education.

“Your Excellency, you invited me her in view of my daughter’s performance. I hope she would have been here by herself. That would have made her day. A few minutes ago I was reading something somebody was commenting on His Excellency’s commitment to education.

“Incidentally, if this is the only thing the girl will be associated with, His Excellency’s directive here has made her vision a reality and I sincerely thank the governor on behalf of the young girl for this gesture”, the student’s father said.

Reports all the way from South Africa, says that a correctional service official in Losperfontein prison in Brits has committed suicide, after her relationship with an inmate was exposed.
The department said it had been made aware of the images circulating on social media.

Her name has not been released yet.

The department’s regional commissioner for Limpopo‚ Mpumalanga and North West‚ Mandla Mkabela‚ expressed sadness at the incident.
“We have dispatched a team of senior managers and our employee assistance programme specialists to provide necessary support‚” Mkabela said.
