chinolization: Scratch-face
Tribal Marks? Should I take that as an insult from you? Definitely No!...I'd rather thank you for reminding Me of a Yoruba tradition.

Flatty, for your information, tribal marks have always been part of Our culture as Yorubas. As a matter of fact, only wealthy individuals put them on back in the days.

Below is a Picture of the late Samuel Ladoke Akintola, Premier of the Western region from 1960 to 1966. A British-trained Lawyer and an impeccable Orator...He had the marks too!

Can you please post more pictures of Yorubas with tribal marks, Flatty! They also remind Me of My late Grandmother. She had the Ijesha-styled tribal marks. Thanks, Flatty!

PoliticsRe: Random Facts About Ebonyi by 0merta(m): 7:24pm On Jul 21, 2014
Have the Ezzas and Izzis stopped slaughtering and eating themselves?

Their rivalry dates back to the beginning of the 19th century. Not only do they kill themselves in intermittent, internecine and fraticidal Wars, they are also known to take the Corpses of their Victims home to be roasted as Suya.

This, no doubt, is a fact too!
PoliticsRe: Random Facts About Ebonyi by 0merta(m): 6:54pm On Jul 21, 2014
Along with states like Zamfara, Jigawa and Yobe, Ebonyi is also ranked by the Federal Ministry of Education as an Educationally Less developed State (ELDS) and therefore, Indigenes of the state require lesser marks to get admitted into Federal Universities, other Federal higher institutions and Unity Schools...

That's a fact too! grin grin grin

MOBJECTIVE: well, I've learned something new. smiley. From the perspective of any other individual in Nigeria, i'd say he deserves the honour for his work in keeping Nigeria unified. However, as an indigene of Anambra whose father (now a professor of medicine) recounts how he ate lizards during the war , I can't simply ignore the means he used to end the war. Millions of children's lives is not justifiable in anyway whatsoever, and one day he will be stripped of the honour he has been given, when Nigeria puts this part of history back in her curiculum and a less tribalised generation demands Justice.
Your father ate Lizards and you are here complaining? As if Lizards ain't good sources of protein and very popular as food in most Asian countries!...E be like say you dey mad, abi?

How about your other Igbo Kinsmen that had to slaughter, cook and eat their dying kwashiokor-infected Kids so that the healthier ones could survive? How do you think Cannibalism started among Igbos...

MOBJECTIVE: Azikiwe was thousands of times better than mass muderer awolowo. Be has a masoleum being built for him and the abuja airport named after him, to name a few. What does Awolowo have to show how great a man he was? mstcheww

#havingsometribalfun cheesy
Do you know that Awolowo was and is still the only Nigerian Non-President or Non-head-of-state to be bestowed with a GCFR National honour?

Do you know his portrait graces the 100 naira note, depicting that he was even considered before Azikiwe, whose portrait graced another currency years later?

Do you know that Awolowo's feats as Premier of the Western region made Azikiwe look like a Crook as Eastern region's Premier?

tit: Pa Awolowo was a great man.
He was the first person to introduce tribalism in Nigeria in 1951.
I am a faithful follower of Pa Awolowo!
How was he a Tribalist? Can you educate Me, please?

...by cajoling his Kinsmen, Yorubas to cross-carpet from NCNC to AG? The last time I checked, cross-carpeting is still not an offence or crime!

...by making them understand the benefits of having their kind (a Yoruba) lead them instead of an Igbo Man?

I wonder what would have become the lots of We Yorubas if Azikwe had been elected the Premier of the western region in 1951, considering the fact he failed as Premier of the Eastern region thereafter, after greedily "chancing" and unseating the erstwhile Premier, Eyo Ita, who was from a minority tribe...

T9ksy: And the ibos adore a man who led them into a suicidal war only to scamper to safety in the middle of the night abandoning them to the fate of those he claimed were committed to wiping their race, out. He sacrificed 3millions of them for his ulterior motive yet the ibos worship him.Tells a lot about the psyche of average ibo man.
You forgot to add that he was dressed like a Harlot before fleeing for his "dear" Life...after leading innocent Folks to untimely deaths!

Ojukwu aptly defined the word "Cowardice"...

Awo may you never find peace in the world beyond.
may the soul of biafrans children you starved to death cry against you for ever.

No be only "Which", na "Winch"...Olodo like you!

AlfaSeltzer: Awolowo is the embodiment of everything wrong with humanity. The jury is still out on whether the person was entirely human. He was evil personified. The highest post he achieved is minister in charge of genocide. But yorubas adore him. He is their demi-god. Tells you a lot about yoruba people. Spits.
AlfaSeltzer: western goat, this thead is about awo the frog.

RareDiamond: It is a known fact that Awolowo display strong tribal loyalty than national loyalty hence the general refusal to accept him as a nationalist. His hatred for other tribes made him to propagate strong discriminatory and tribal bigoted policies. He was also instrumental in causing crisis in the western region due to his unpatriotic dispute with Akintola.

I use to view awolowo as a nationalist due to false and malicious western (Oduduwa) propaganda but now i see him at best as a yoruba leader with policies unfavourable to the yorubas.

Was Awolowo justified in his actions
Awolowo's the best thing to happen to We Yorubas!

His accomplishments and legacies are still being felt and enjoyed by We Yorubas till today!

As per his rift with Akintola, Awolowo was the Party Leader for crying out loud and he had the right to call Akintola to order when the latter was going against the Party ethics and policies...

Policies unfavourabe to Yorubas? Are you being sarcastic or something?

You must be a Fool!

You're absolutely right, you know! We sure agree to disagree, and disagree to agree!

My point is that NOT all Igbos like Ojukwu...There are Millions of Igbos out there that still hate him even in Death. That's the point I was trying to prove to the Nigger I quoted!

jusRadical: Who is this your iheanacho? Who knows him?

Your iheanacho is insignificant to the millions that hold Ojukwu in high esteem.
Not only My Mr Iheanacho, Nigger!

A lot of Igbos out there never fancied Ojukwu. Don't let your love and respect for him becloud your sense of objectivity.

Even past Igbo Leaders like the late Zik and Michael Okpara never supported Ojukwu's Seperatist Policies...

VICTORCIZA: obiageli please read nairaland rule 14 and 18.
Ojukwu to us is a hero, you have every right to your opinion after all you are from southwest but as far as ndi igbo is concerned Ojukwu is an iroko who command respect even at death!
hold on to your opinion if it makes you happy but i am not buying it
Ojukwu, a hero? You sure?

And Anambra Igbos didn't deem it fit to vote him when he contested for the Senate twice; he even got floored by Jim Nwobodo, a Rookie in 1983...

And he never won a democratic election in his entire political career, even in Biafra states! The two times he contested for the Presidency in 2003 and 2007, if I ain't mistaken, he lost, even in Anambra, his home state...

In as much as most Igbos idolize him and revere him as a Hero, some Igbos actually hate him and wish he never came into existence, like My former Neighbour, Mr. Iheanacho. That Man no like to dey use ear hear about Ojukwu at all...
