A thread comes up, portraying often negatively-stereotyped Policemen in good light, showing the whole world the uncommon, enviable and commendable patriotism exhibited by the underpaid men in black, and you think it doesn't deserve being on the front page...

You shouldn't always play the tribal cards, you know!

Knowing your Kinsmen were the perpetrators of the dastardly act, you should have just kept mute and be an observer on the thread instead of commenting and sounding like someone with the IQ of a bag of garri...

I think the National stadium in Surulere, where he unfortunately breathed his last, should be renamed after him.

After all, there's another National stadium in Abuja.

He died while on a National service.

AkinEgba: Conehead. Akinegba is not Yoruba name. You ratty-faced simpleton

Akinegba is different from Akin Egba

My own ''Akin'' means ''Similar'' (ENGLISH WORD AS ''AKIN TO SOMETHING'').
And Egba is the abbreviation of my father, mother and my own names (E.G.B.A.)
Fucck that your flawed, inane analogy. It'd have been more logical if you had used the moniker, "AkintoEGBA" or something!

AkinEgba means the "Brave one of Egba dynasty". Going by your moniker and signature, it's so obvious that you love the Yorubas and wish you were born one.

You can still get yourself a cool Yoruba girl for marriage so your Kids could be half Yorubas. Okay, Flatty?

tpia1: so this is an unusual thing which you've never seen before?

bro, tell us where you're really from, this aint cutting it.

not convincing at all.
Why're you contradicting yourself?

You previously said no Yoruba combines religions like that, now you're asking Me if I've not seen such an unusual situation before.

You're apparently confused. Guy, I think you need to rest! Go sleep!

tpia1: bro, no yoruba talks or types this way:

what does the bolded mean? huh

and no yoruba combines religions in that manner during a ceremony, btw.
And what might the bolded mean to you? Do you lack comprehension skills? I think I tried to emphasize that the couple were from different states in addition to the religious differences.

Well, the ceremony was a traditional wedding that was held in the Bride's Family house. It didn't hold in a church or mosque and FYI, the Church wedding took place the following day and the Groom's Muslim Parents and relatives were all in the church.

Got any other question or observation, Flatty?
Christianity EtcRe: Catholics v Anglicans In Igboland: setting a bad precedence by 0merta(m):
ChrisOD: We all have seen what happened in Osun and even in Oyo, where Muslims attacked a Christian Yoruba girl for preaching. Let them continue to sing their own religious praises.
There are bad eggs in every setting and Group. No one's disputing that fact.

You think say na everybody for Vatican city dey holy? There are Murderers, Rapists, Paedophiles, Criminals and Racists parading themselves as Cardinals, Bishops, Pastors and Alhajis everywhere in the world...

But that doesn't diminish the fact that from a statistical point of view, it can be generally deduced that Yorubas are the most religiously tolerant set of People in the WORLD...

Yeah, in the whole wide WORLD! Quote me, Motherfuccker!

Tales by moonlight?

You labelled it so 'cos it seems unrealistic, right? You aren't really to blame for having such a thought considering the fact that you ain't Yoruba. But it actually happened, Nigger!

You sound like a Flatty! Are you one?

Evergreeen123: OGBO O ATO O

So you are a devotee of Ogun Lakaye Oshimale? So also is Professor Wole Soyinka.

My favourite Yoruba pantheon is the Oro and i also have christian and moslems as relatives.

We Yorubas are indeed tolerant, civil, cosmopolitan and sophisticated
Yes ooo, Ab'ogun ni mi o...and Wole Soyinka is a Mentor too, both intellectually and spirtually!

Ogun l'akaiye, Osinmole!

Ogun Alada meji...O fi kan s'anko, O fi kan yena!...

Bro, I really don't think that your Moniker is necessary. I'm sure it imbues a sense of undue importance and acknowledgement in that B!tch, Ngozi!
Christianity EtcRe: Catholics v Anglicans In Igboland: setting a bad precedence by 0merta(m):
lakhadimar: There are more churches in Yorubaland than they are anywhere else in Nigeria.

The Yorubas arent bigoted and religiously intolerant like you ibos and hausas.

The redemeed christian church just concluded their convention recently, it was the largest christian gathering in Africa and the venue was at the redeemed camp in Ogun state, Yorubaland. The Osun Osogbo festival will commence next week and as expected, its going to be the largest gathering of African Traditional believers; the venue would be at Osogbo, Osun state, Yorubaland.

When it comes to Religious tolerance, you have to give it to the yorubas
You can say that again, Bro!

I was born into a Christian home, I have muslim cousins and recently had to retrace My "religio-ancestral" steps back to Ogun, the Yoruba God of War, Iron and metallic Ore; the gods of My Forefathers...

I attended a Cousin's traditional wedding ceremony sometimes last year and the religious tolerance that played out on that day was noteworthy. The Groom, My cousin, a Muslim from Osun state and his bride, a Christian from Ogun state. There were prayers from an "Alfa", and a "Pastor" in addition to the traditional prayers constantly offered in the names of Ifa and Osun by the Lady Compere, and each prayer was followed by a resounding "Amin" and "Asee", as the case may be, irrespective of the Prayer Offerer...

At the end of the day, there were hugs, handshakes, laughter and greetings among all...with the full awareness that, we are first Yorubas, before being a Christian, Muslim or a Traditionalist...

I think the religious tolerance prevalent among We "Omo Ooduas" should be developed as a Prototype in promoting inter and intra- religious Peace, especially in places like "Alaigbo", Northern Nigeria and the Middle East.
