And in this year's Copa America, just because he wasn't there for them they couldn't even qualify from their group. Does this not prove that he is the lifeblood of the Brazilian team?

I think Messi's new role serves the team much better ; playing deeper, scoring less goals, creating for others, etc. But this new system gives the very selfish guy on the other side the edge to continue to win more and more ballon dors.
