please Aleshyto,be very carefull with the use of salt. As it is been use to cure, it can also kill your fish fast.For treatment, especially for preveting diseases, you dont need too much of salt. All you need to do is to drain your water, fill it with fresh water, when it just cover the fish, stop the water. then mix up some salt and any good antibacteria drugs in water solution, but 15kg salt is way too much. then sprinkle this on the fish for like 2hr. then you can drain the water and replace with new fresh water. with this your fish will have a jolly ride to table size. also i have mentioned this before, if you buy fingerlings or even juvenile, try to disinfect it before stocking. in doing this you avoid so many things for yourself. if for on reason or the other your fish refuse to eat, please this is a bad sign that some has gone wrong. solution must be sorted for in days and not even a week must go by with that problem still on. first change their water. if it persis then disinfect and also give them multivitamins. anyway thats all i have for now, i hope to login often. Thanks for your support on dis tread. Pls, I want you to explain d meaning of TS, DCP nd also, is d biscuit d normal type and whc one can I use precisely? How many kg can I make 4 dem and for how long?

The formular is 100KG. TS means Toasted Soya, DCP _ sorry I don't know d meaning but it is meant to make d fish agile and give them strong bone. The biscuit is the normal biscuit we eat but the one they use at the feedmill is the industrial one. I mean, waste from the factory but I see guys working at the feedmill eating it. For how long they will consume 100KG depends on ur fish eating habit

the fishes are at egbeda lga,idea farm after ibadan,d owners produces even for some big name,if u want to visit their farm,u welcome & even best u check them.

when i have my fishes,i will make my offer, i was at a village at surulere LGA in oyo st day b4 Yesterday,d owner has a mini river as his fishfarm aside various earthen ponds, bought fish seeds from one of d very best in Nigeria,yet no tangible result aside d ten of thousands of poultry layers,reason poor mgt.

Overfeeding can kill fish when they are still small but not when they've matured. You are to change their water(if it is concrete pond) every 3 days.

overfeeding is mostly critical with smaller fishes,d bigger fishes can choose to ignore when they are full, changing of water can be in 3 or 4 days,but d most essential is d stocking populatn,it can even be a week if stock aint much & u havnt polluted d water with overfeeding

when your fish cluster together it could be the water is bad, that you need to change fast or it could also be that the pond is already infected. This second suggestion is often the case when it comes to clustering of fish and recording of death. By this, if you have a free pond you can transfer the fish there asap or if you dont have empty pond, you need to change their water, and apply salt and antibiotic solutiom on them when the water level is low. This might need to be done everyday for 3 to 5 days for total cure.

Some useless hatchers also sell runts, years back I bought runts unknowingly from a hatcher, Not once or twice but later on I got to realise it and I lost heavily.. But today he is no longer in business.. One thing they don't realise is that when u keeping selling runts and the farmer keeps feeding and loosing he will surely go somewhere else and the hatcher tends to loose his customers gradually till he folds up.. I have even seen some hatchery presently using fishes of 0.5 grms both male and female for spawning..

Like I said earlier on u have to know the hatchery.. Go to their farms and see for urself... Also u have to still use ur discretion to still identify the runts.. I can identify runts just by looking at the fishes inside water maybe because I am into hatching..

A fish farmer contacted me some months back pleading just to see me..I gave him an appointment and when I met with him he complained bitterly about all he has gone through in fish farming.. I felt pity for him coz I could feel his pains.. Luckily for him I had done some hatching with first class shooters still intact, I gave him a thousand first class shooters for free and some tips on management...

5 months later when he harvested none of the fishes were below 1.5 kg he made profit for the first time since he started fish farming.. He brought the biggest fish of them all to my farm as appreciation...

I guess all these agents and hatchers that sells runts will be exposed with time..

my advise to aspiring & fishfarmers is be wise,either understudy someone or learn d rudiment of d basics,which fishes size is ok,how to know sick ones,mgt etc,dont be carried with human words,examine every motives & be discrete,even u can ask someone to help,but essential u also know

@Mr excelsior: thank you. I used livestovit which you prescribed for me then when I wanted to buy juveniles. but next time I think I'll use it from day 1 when I purchase the fish for better result.
Anyways, the fishes I got then from the friend you referred me to are now abt 5 months and looks promising, in fact, harvest time is near.
