I thinkit dependson indvidal man's family
Some men prefer to stay back to avoid trouble their wives bring to them. You can imagine after being faced with the challenges in the work, you stil come home to face another palavar. Other women understand and make their husband fulfil their days.

kokoye: if I was in naija (lagos to be specific) I would hang around work to chill out and avoid traffic, talk to friends n business people for opportunities, leave for home when traffic has slowed, fire up the generator and a/c for the night and hit the sack. Wkds would be devoted solely to the family. #reality.

i can quite relate with your post. i was in charge of site validation for a particulat telecom giant and in my own case, i was always away from Tuesday to Saturday every week. I attend update meetings on Sunday with all the guys in site acquisition, On Monday, i draft and sign of my Legal documents for the sites acquired, validated and to be paid for and on Tuesday, I am out of Lagos again. I virtually accessed every village in the south west, south south and south east. I have gone through the water from Yenagoa to Port Harcout, having gone to all the Tengele Amah towns, oluasiri, Nembe, Sangana,Amasoma. etc etc. It was fun for me then but after a while, i resigned because of the high risk involved. The double engine boat i chartered from Port Harcourt warterside to developed engine problems and we almost lost our bearing in the open sea, i was shot at on the expressway going from Port Harcourt to Enugu (back to back)....Money was coming in though...

Lol at two teeth!

It's really enviable to cherish the company of your family especially wife.

You can mentor younger ones esp men what marriage is all about.

People like you will hit the road between 5-7pm and spend like 3 hours getting home at about 10pm.

The rest of us chill at the closest joint or when i am able to, drive down to ikoyi club, nurse a maximum of 2 bottles, its 9.30pm, i hit the road, power home and get there just 15minutes later than you.

Advantages:

i save fuel
i have lesser stress
lower risk of attacks by those guys in traffic
i connect with boys over a few drinks and look at new biz opportunities
The list is endless

On Friday night i club all night
I don't reside in Lagos was just asking a question .about the club all nite on Fridays ,you no dey tire ? How long can you do this Biko ? And the last question are you married ?

devour129: I know this doesn't apply to me but couldn't resist.grew up watching my dad come home straight from work, showers, eats with my mum ,sleep off on the settee while gisting . So it was a shock when I got married and my hubby did just the opp.when I was still a learner,I will stay up till he comes back before I eat.am a really great home maker so my house is always clean and smells like a bakery ,I also keep myself well so that was not a problem.abuja men claim it's only at night they do deals grin.back to my gist,I will stay up till he comes back at the beginning ,cry myself to sleep sometimes until I started having babies and I became a teacher wink.if its 7pm and my hubby is not back home,I will never call,I eat by 6 and if he calls and says the person he went to see has still not come and he is not sure if to stay or come back,I quickly encourage him to wait.i did for a while before he caught up,now he walks in before 8pm,so he can play with the kids before they go bed and he stays out only if it is absolutely necessary .even the day bomb went off in Abuja he was so angry that among his friends am the only one that ddnt call her hubby when I was in dreamland hanging out with obama cheesy o ladies don't fret if your hubby doesn't come home on time, carry on with your life everything will work out.as for the men, continue to come home late in this perilous times !
lol.I feel you.No time for nonsense.

Bros, if you see my wife and son, you will never have any reason to go to anywhere after the close of work. O boy, I have a very lovely wife and a handsome son. They are my source of happiness and joy. I drive straight home at the close of work everyday.

Why is this guy always against married men being free to live their life. Are the married men contesting with you on anything? Or you are just holding them in your mind for nothing. Will you not be a married man one day? Why not wait till then and answer the question yourself.

Yes, i do go home immediately from work. My job takes me out of town most often, so i can't afford to still stay away from the house when i'm working in my base. It has even become an issue for me, that immediately it's 6pm a particular call will come into mine, and the next question will be 'is it not yet time to come home'?

I'm happy to go home, those in the home are happy to see me.
