oiseoghae: Please how long does it take between when your file is transfered to your Visa office and when you get a Medical call up? That depends on a number of factors and your case officer. If you've gotten that far, patience should be your watchword. |

Hi. I have a doubt regarding my points in the Education factor. I'm not quite sure which is my category in education between these two: - University degree at the Master’s level or equal OR University level entry-to-practice professional degree (occupation must be in NOC 2011 Skill Level A) (23 points) - Canadian post-secondary degree or diploma for a program of three years or longer, or equal (21 points) In my country my title states Engineer, I studied for 5 five years at a national university. My code in the NOC list is 2174 Computer Programmer, and my WES assessed credential for Canada is Bachelor’s degree (4 years). I have read the information in CIC website (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/factor-education.asp), but I don't understand completely the 23 points category. |

My Oga Solomonwis and other veterans, please I need an advise on my IELTS score, below is my result: Speaking:7.0 Writing:7.0 Listening:7.0 Reading:6.0 My questions are what is my score under language? Do I qualify for the bonus 4 points for second language as stated on CIC website? P.S: I don't have any language result in French. Thank you |

mramosr85: Hi. I have a doubt regarding my points in the Education factor. I'm not quite sure which is my category in education between these two: Not sure..but I think the second category has to do with college or diploma n the first is a full university degree... The max is 23 n 25 respectively |

[/font] adonai36: My Oga Solomonwis and other veterans, please I need an advise on my IELTS score, below is my result: Your overall score under language is 21 points. You do not qualify for any bonus 4 points as that is for people that can show evidence of their ability in both English and French. Ability in either of them can only get you a maximum 24 points. |

/b] mramosr85: Hi. I have a doubt regarding my points in the Education factor. I'm not quite sure which is my category in education between these two: Your category is the second one: Canadian Post Secondary degree for a program of three years or longer. This is what WES has classified your degree to be and that is what matters most as per the FSWP application regardless of the classification in your home country, so you should be getting 21 points. The 23 points is for a Canadian masters degree equivalent. In Canada, masters degrees are usually 2 years full time but some people got 1 year masters degree that are classified as equivalent to canadian masters degree so they get 23 points. |

pickabeau1: 21pts= Bachelors degree equivalent 23pts= Masters degree equivalent 25pts= PhD degree equivalent. One can also get 22pts if you show more than one degree qualifications below the masters level. |

Hello Solomon and others with PER's please I have some questions. Firstly, did you guys send photocopies of your Work Reference Letters or did you send originals. Second Question- Should all details of the reference letter (Period of employment, Positions held, Main responsibilities, Total annual salary and Number of hours worked) be in one letter or should the Main Responsibilities be in a separate letter. Third Question- Is the reference letter enough or do I also need to include my Employment Letter? Forth Question- Did you send original pay slips or photocopies. Fifth Question- Have August applicants have started receiving PER's. Please reply soon. |

Guys please I have a question about filling the forms "Schedule A: Background / Declaration (IMM 5669)" and "Schedule 3: Economic Classes – Federal Skilled Worker (IMM 0008 – Schedule 3)" On these forms, I have found that in some sections, there isn't enough space to contain the needed information. In the Schedule A form, the space for Education, Personal History, Membership/Association and Address are not enough for me. Also, in the Schedule 3 form, the space for "Work Experience" is also not enough. Please guys, should I fill out all the necessary information on an additional sheet of paper and include with the original forms? I'm currently filling my form and need assistance with this. Thanks. |

News Release — Planning for Success, Putting Canada First Ottawa, October 28, 2013 — Citizenship and Immigration Minister Chris Alexander today announced an immigration plan that will drive economic growth in 2014 and position Canada for success in the years ahead. “"Securing economic growth is and will remain our Government’s top priority,"” said Alexander. “"Canada is in a global competition for the best and brightest immigrants, and this plan is crafted with attracting the people we need for Canada to succeed."” After tabling the Annual Report to Parliament on Immigration, Alexander said Canada plans to welcome 240,000 to 265,000 new permanent residents in 2014, with record admissions forecast in both the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and the Provincial Nominee Program. “"While Canadians will continue to get the first crack at available jobs, getting the right people in the right places is key to addressing regional labour needs and fueling Canada’s long-term prosperity,"” said Alexander. “"We need newcomers willing to put their skills, ideas and energies to work."” Economic immigration is slated to increase to 63 per cent in 2014. The remaining 37 per cent will consist of family class immigrants, refugees and others admitted under humanitarian programs. Economic immigration image described below “"We will continue to drive down backlogs, reduce wait times and improve service. We will continue to reunite families. We will continue to give refuge to the world’s most vulnerable,"” said Alexander. Canada is moving from passive economic immigration to active recruiting under a new intake system tentatively titled the Expression of Interest System (EOI). Our plan for 2014 takes that change into account and works toward a successful launch on January 1, 2015. Every summer, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) consults with provinces, territories and stakeholders across Canada to develop a balanced immigration plan. We also seek feedback from the Canadian public. This year, CIC received over 4,700 responses between June 21 and August 31, 2013. Planned admission ranges for other immigration programs will be released in the coming days. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/releases/2013/2013-10-28.asp |
Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by thebaft: 10:50pm On Oct 28, 2013 |
Backgrounder — Expression of Interest (EOI): Preparing for Success in 2015 The Government believes Canada can and should compete actively to attract the best and brightest newcomers to resettle here. That’s why we are getting set to treat most immigration applications in a revolutionary new way. Having a job is the best path to economic integration. EOI will select immigrants based on the skills Canadian employers need and, in turn, should they pursue citizenship, they will be welcomed as equal members of the Canadian family. As of January 2015, the EOI system will help switch from passive processing of applications in the order we get them to a prioritized system that gets in-demand people with the skills to succeed to Canada faster than ever before. The 2014 Immigration Levels Plan makes way for Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) to transition to this new system in January 2015 by continuing to reduce backlogs across the board. This will enable Canada to begin using EOI to identify the best candidates from day one. EOI works in two steps. Prospective immigrants would indicate their interest in coming to Canada by providing information electronically about their skills, work experience and other attributes. Individuals who meet certain eligibility criteria will have their “expressions of interest” placed in a pool and ranked against others already in the pool. CIC would only invite the best candidates, including those with in-demand skills or with job offers, to apply for a visa. Expressions of interest that are not chosen after a period of time may be removed from the pool. As a result, application backlogs would not accumulate and processing times will be kept to a minimum. We will also assess applicants on a variety of other factors such as education, work experience and language ability – with a greater emphasis on the ever-changing needs of the Canadian labour market. The Government is working with provincial and territorial partners to make EOI a success. We are also partnering with Canadian employers so they will be ready to find candidates in the EOI pool that meet their skills requirements when the domestic labour force cannot. Further details about EOI will be communicated in due course and as they become available. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/backgrounders/2013/2013-10-28b.asp |
