Exactly
Very unnecessary/pointless to actual Fullback like Aina/ebuehi when a coach select a natural CB to play at that position because he is a good defender. Imagine John Terry, Rio Ferdinand, Nesta used at Right back because they're better defenders than Cafu? Just play players at their natural position and teach them the basics of that position if they don't understand
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by 12large1: 10:16am On Feb 19, 2021
Our Rohr needs to stop this nonsense at using players at the wrong position. Just select available players at their natural position and don't make things complicated. There are exceptions (Injuries/unavailability) to these Rules. It is time for players to do the basic at their position.
Our Fullback should be able to defend and offensively and cross when needed i.e Marcelo, Alves, TAA
Our Wingers must learn the basic duties of a Winger (Crossing/Intelligence) i.e Finidi george, Beckham etc
Strikers should be Power, Shooters, Finishers and fast i.e Yekini, Henry, Ronaldo while Playmaker should learn how to control/dictate a game and also take freekicks i.e Zidane, pirlo, Okocha. We should stop encouraging coaches using players at unnatural position because it's pointless

please tell me what mistake he made? your eyes were fixed on Aina and ebuehi on the bench and so you could not see that defensively akpoguma is better than both.
Defensively, he was bad very slow on the ball, kept on falling. The crosses that led to 2 of their goals came from RB. Offensively, he was non-existent. It is actually disrespectful to play akpoguma a natural (CB) at Right back when Aina, Ebuehi and awaziem are fit and available. Awaziem was even better than akpo at right back when he came on board

Well then, Balogun first choice
Akpogunma second choice grin
so you would rather akpoguma at rb when Aina, ebuehi is fit and available?

akpoguma is very solid at rb. he was the only sensible defender after Leon in the Sierra Leone game.
solid at what right back? He was absolutely Atrocious in that position against Sierra Leone home and away. I hope Rohr never uses akpoguma at right back again except serious injuries

Balogun played at RB yesterday with an excellent display, another option if Rohr doesn't want to use Akpogunma grin
Neither the 2 should be used as full backs when there's Aina, ebuehi and awaziem

Did Halaand had experience before signing for Dortmund and isn't he scoring the goals? Talents needs experience but not much of it to excel.
Or you want to tell me Halaand playing in the Austrian league was an enough experience?
My guy Harland has been playing division 2 football since 2015. He basically had 4 seasons of division 2 and 1 before signing to a big club. Even Neymah stayed at Santos for a few extra years before going to barce

Osimhen will come good soon

Most Nigerians don’t know anything and there are many of them on this thread ,they can’t talk football without putting double standard aside

I am sure Mexicans didn’t call Napoli a useless club last season when lozano was struggling and he finally came good this season and has been one of their best players so far with 9 goals as a winger from 21 seria A games ,Lozano was their record signing last season just as osimhen was this season and Lozano didn’t do well last season

Even if osimhen is playing for a high flying pep Guardiola side where strikers like Jesus aren’t scoring much they will still call mancity a useless club and Guardiola a clueless coach for not using him well

The type of comments I see here ehnn

Na still here one Mumu say messi no Dey pass for griezman grin
The person no no say that by calling Napoli a Useless club, ein dey call Osimehn Useless player as osimehn no even be the top 3 top scorer at that club. A club that invested 75 million on your head when you only had scoring experience at Farmers league must really believed in you. Personally, I felt that he should had stayed at lille for 1 or 2 more seasons before signing at a big club

Please guys, have patience/believe/hope that osimehn will rediscover that Touch but the worst statement that you can make about him nonscoring is calling Napoli a Useless Club when osimehn isn't even their top scorer. Its an Insult to Osimehn and Nigeria. Do you realize that napoli other forward Lozano has more goals than starboy even his substitute "petagna" has more goals than him. Next accusations will be "Racism excuse" Anyway, Starboy will regain his form just be patient

Do you watch Napoli matches?
If you do, then you will know that the problem isn't with Osimhen but the other forwards at Napoli, including some of their midfielders. To other Napoli players, they don't know if they have a top 9, all what they do is to try and score themselves. It's in Napoli you will see a player playing shot from the middle of the field with the intention of scoring and taken the glory. They play an "All Man For Himself" kind of football and as a top 9, it's only when balls are worked for you that you score goals.
Look at Traore and now Haller at Ajax, both their midfielders and wingers Makes sure they create chances for them, but same can't be said of Napoli.
Watch Atalanta matches, you will see the number of chances that are created for Zapata to score, same goals for Lukaku and Inter, Zlanta and AC, Immobile and Lazio, even including Ronaldo and Juventus, but same can't be said of Napoli and Osimhen.
Mertens, Insigne, Politano, Lozano, all of them playing behind Osimhen, once they are with the ball, they dribbles one and the next thing that comes to their minds is to shot and not to pass and create chance for their top 9 who happens to be Osimhen.
My friend you're technically right but osimehn also has to make the right runs and if their players continue shooting from far, he has to make personal Requests. Samuel Etoo was an expert on this forward play but remember that etoo had 5 years experience before signing at a big club. Osimehn wasn't ready to move to a big Club he should had stayed at farmers league 1 or 2 more season before signing that big contract. Also, i didn't watch today's game, but in his last 2 games, dude missed 2 clear cut chances and yes all strikers miss chances but don't start branding a Good club that broke their financial record as Useless because he isn't scoring. We should Analyze why he isn't scoring and have Patience/Believe eventually he might start scoring. Remember this is his 1st Big club since he started playing professionally
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by 12large1:
Instead of us properly analyzing why osimehn isn't performing, we're trying to deem the club that spend 75 million on a player that only (Scored) at Farmers league i.e Belgium, France as USELESS when he isn't even their top scorers. Personally, I think he should had stayed longer at France before signing for a big club seeing how Pepe flopped at Arsenal but everyone was in a haste to sign. During the preseason, he scored 2 back to back Hatrick and I was praying that my initial thought was wrong. The first 6 games, he played fairly well but scored only 2 goals, the hope was alive. After his injuries and covid, the guy hasn't been the same. I haven't Lost hope yet but don't be branding a Club Useless when our starboy isn't the top scorer at a Useless Club.

Anytime i see Ndidi, osimehn and now zaidu excelling at their clubs, there's innate joy in my heart. Honestly, to have a Nigerian Born and raised excel and have the potential to become World class is one of the best feelings as an SE fan. I support my dual-nationals but they only choose us because of Rejection by their Favorite/Country of Birth

Honestly, let's assume that we're not inviting British born Nigerian players are we saying that in the entire Nigeria, we cannot find creative midfielders like Okocha or Oruma? Why is it so difficult for us to produce creative midfielders, yet we have plethora of Strikers? Our football academy needs reconstructing i.e players must understand the main aim of their position. Defenders need to understand how to defend, Wingers and full backs must learn how to Cross while Passing and creativity needs to be installed in young midfielders to ensure that our Future wouldn't rely on begging "Foreign Rejects"

Andrew 2 questions for you.

1) Ndidi right now is ranked as the top 3 DM in EPL by many Pundits, and Journalists. As a dm, how do you feel that he is ranked in the hierarchy of Nigerian DM's or even box to box Midfilders? I.e oliseh, Mikel, Onazi

2) Are we bestowing enormous Respect towards Osimehn regarding SE selection? Should his place be contested since there are many Strikers available and inform or should his position be safe and Secure even when out of form?

Currently our best performing player in the French league is moffi so it will be nice to see the next call up. Imagine our coach calling Kalu, Moses Simon and omitting Moffi haha. Some will say that they don't play in the same position, but what stops moffi from playing as a Wing forward. After all, Uruguay did it successfully with cavani, Forlan and Suarez

you didn't say anything about Samuel Kalu, who has same goal with lookman. Look, seems you don't understand at all. the ones you're calling are no better, I'm sure you don't watch Bordeaux games back to back, you'd also say the same for Kalu. and what do you exactly mean by eye for goal?
How many times will I tell you guys to stop comparing farmers league stats to the big 3 stats? Farmers league stats just signifies that this individual can be a "Future Talent" when you perform at the Big 3, you're Ready for Nigeria. Based on the Quality of leagues this season, our best winger

1) Lookman - 3 goals 3 assists at the big 3
2) chuks 2 goals 5 assist at the big 3

Surprising Nwakaeme has been our best winger at Farmers league this season (6 goals 4 assists) I.e France, Turkey, belgium, Russia etc. He needs to prove himself at the Big 3 sha to compete. My Favorite winger in Farmers league is Chidera Ejuke very sad that he is out of form at this time

We have to stop this baseless accusations of people age especially when there isn't any corrobotative evidence. The effect of this accusations caused internal community to sideline our players after 2000 and it took us almost 20 years for their interest to be rekindled. My guy, if you don't have any evidence that players falsified their age, keep your thoughts to yourself. The international community view platform like these or similar platforms.

With Rohr in charge I don't think so. They could not beat Sierra Leone both home and away. They lost 2nil to Madagascar. They lost to Zambia at home.
But they also beat Algeria, zambia, Cameroon, South Africa, guinea, Egypt and Poland with the same coach.

BTW when did he lose to Zambia at home?
