You are naive if you think Lookman would have made the final list If Rohr was in charge..

You should first ask whether his switch has been completed, because after so many months of story, it officially started 2 months ago, as confirmed by Lookman himself..

Like I said before, hypocrisy is all I'm seeing here... All the foreign born players you guys are crying for where never wanted by Rohr himself.. But some of you have swore never to see anything good in our local coach..

After AFCON, Eguavon may be gone and another foreign coach will take over, then una go rest...
Rohr confirmed on “elegbete tv” (it’s on YouTube) that Lookman name is among the list of 40 men submitted by NFF to caf for this upcoming ANC

I hope Eguavoen is sacked immediately after the Afcon so the new coach can integrate these foreign borns
It’s not about foreign or local born. There should be some sort of code that our coaches should adhere. Coaches should simply select the most inform or best available players at each at position…. Is very simple but difficult

It has nothing to do with mediocrity, this a proper tournament, you cant be experimenting at tournaments, there's no guarantee that he hit the ground running with the team, club side performance does not always translate, Onuachu is a clear example!
So it’s better to go with the one that has “disappointed” numerous times?? And will probably disappoint again? Than to give the “in form” once chances.. The best time to invite a player is when he is “in form” you should give an inform player chances and if he flips, you drop him. How difficult is such?? It must be bunch of losers commenting on this website walahi

In football, the first step to winning trophies is to have a winners Mindset and the right Physical conditioning. Once you have those two, you can prepare tactics, selection and defeat anyone.. the last time that Nigeria football exhibited such mentality was at Atlanta 96.. nowadays, Coaches will invite players that last impressed 5 years ago and fans will justify such nonsense

How come your idíotic sense didn't let you understand that Lookman just can't be thrown into AfCon without testing considering that he has lived his entire life in Europe? Who even told your frustrated self that Lookman has been cleared to rep Naija, you this filthy bâstard?
Once again, the problem with Nigerians is our tolerance for mediocrity. We have such high tolerance for mediocrity from our leaders and have people justifying it. First of all, Rohr was on “elegbete tv” confirming that Lookman and ejaria were included in his 40 Man ANC squad. (The interview is on YouTube) and what makes you think that an “in form” player at the premier league wouldn’t assimilate and perform at the African soil?? Also, isn’t it much better to give an inform player a chance to prove himself rather than someone that has been given multiple chances and still disappointing.. like I said, we as super eagles fans has to stop accepting mediocrity

Unless we don't want to be honest with ourselves, is it SURPRISING.

We selected Shehu from the dead woods of Europe .

Musa is bad but Shehu is even worse.
Our mindset is wrong from the on set and that’s not a winners mentality.. some people will even be referencing World Cup goals scored in 2014 to justify his inclusion

Lookman and co are post AfCon projects, and his position is well covered, so no qualms.
You’re so dumb to realize that a good team is as good as it’s bench.. imagine terrorizing defenses with Dennis, chukwueze and replacing them with lookman than with musa, Simon. We really have a lot to learn about winners mentality.. the first step in winning at football is to have the right mindset and physical conditioning

What are you guys typing sef
Ahmed and William are squad captains who have media and other obligations
They get preferential treatment besides Ahmed has done a lot on the pitch for the country
Looking at the eagles for decades it has always been like that
Captains get treated with respect
Jay Jay, Kanu, Yobo, Enyeama, Mikel all had times they were not in form but were invited to play.
Ahmed will prove you wrong in January
Don’t worry you will not see Musa from January 2023 grin

Eguavon i think in a way might have considered weather and ease of the players to adapt to it
The new foreigners he dropped won’t really adapt to our tropical weather like the regulars or home grown players
They might have to play when it’s scorching hot
This is exactly how to identify a winner vs Losing team. A winning team dosent GAF what you achieved 5 years ago. They’re concerned on what you can currently do or in the future while a losing team will keep reminiscing about “5 years ago”. Based on some of you guys logic, I can identify an Arsenal fan vs Real Madrid fan… despite what Sergio Ramos achieved for Madrid in the past, they allowed him to leave for free. If it was Nigeria, Ramos will be playing until he decides to willingly leave.. sad case!

This new coach is very corrupt. Sacking Rohr was a wrong move he doesn't deserve to be sacked.. He would have done better with the selection.

Nwakaeme should have made the list ahead of chukweze and Echijile ahead of Aina. And what is out of form osimhen doing in the list? None sense
The nwakaeme case is actually sad. Here’s a player that has 6 goals and 6 assist at the same league Ahmed musa (1 goal in 17 games) is playing and he is ignored for Ahmed musa. They claimed that he was unimpressive in his 30 minutes cameo while the likes of musa, Simon has consistently been playing horribly for Nigeria while getting invited.. The Nigeria national team is just a minor version of our environment. Biased!

If you are able to take in the very basic premise made.

I said you EARN. the right to play you don't have a right to play.

How do you earn it ❓With what you do in TRAINING and in the match.

So Brendan Rodgers and his coaching staff did not select him why huh You will have to ask them.

But before you think they are biased and prejudiced as well as racist, let me remind you that Kole Toure is his assistant.
The superb performances that Kelechi exhibited last season was enough reasons to become a full blown starter this season. But, Rodgers benched him from the on set despite his superb world class performances last season. Remember,
1) Kelechi was Leicester top scorer last season despite playing lesser minutes
2) He was their best player at the Fa cup and contributed a huge amount to that trophy

Despite all these Facts, Rodgers benched him from the onset this season.. the question is, will such injustice occur to a British born player?? Kelechi also should be blamed for signing a contract that dosent include first team football

How can you go to AFCON with rookies and players that have not played in Africa before. Imagine going to Cameroon in hot and dry weather with potatoes and Broilers like Eze, Michael Olise, Ebuehi**, Bassey, Akpoguma**, Ejaria? It looks disastrous. Even Iwobi and Aribo are finding hard to cope with the weather
Stop talking nonsense because football isn’t strictly about physicality anymore. The Algeria that won that previous ANC isn’t as physically strong as their Nigerian counterparts but they dictated the course of their games vs west African team.. it’s always better to include players at their “best form”

While watching Eguavoen's tactical philosophy video. As soon as he mentioned the team will have a midfielder that can dictate play with diagonal long balls, my mind lit up. NWAKALI.

As a coach, you can not play with that. Something that defines your game is key. For now, he can not attest to how good Kelechi Nwakali is but he is the guy that has that skill set the coach needs.

It is now up to Kelechi Nwakali to deliver a killer performance in camp to make the final cut. That is why Eguavoen called him. Eguavoen will make it clear to him that the ball is in his court. Kelechi Nwakali needs to wake up.

So it is the coach's philosophy that counted in Kelechi Nwakali getting called to camp. Let us allow the coach work.
Makes sense but does that means that Amoo a winger/Attacking midfielder on form cannot dictate a game?? I am about inviting players immediately they’re “inform” that’s what I’m asking

Collins has been our starter for a few games now and he hasn't put a foot wrong. Shehu and John Noble are the inexcusable ones but that's 2 out of 28. We can live with that. We don't have to turn against the coach because of that. I myself was even thinking that the list would be dropped to 23 so those 5 extras are just getting a free vacation to Egypt IMO.

The guys who missed out should focus on their club football. There are more matches coming up this year including the world cup.
Let’s not deceive ourselves

1) Ahmed musa selection in 2021 is inexcusable if you’re selecting players on Form and Merit. If you’re selecting Nigeria players based on form at turkey league, Nwakaeme is the best on current form. Personally, I wouldn’t had selected Neither..

2) Shehu has absolutely no reason to be included in a team that excluded bassey, Akpoguma and Ebuehi…..

3) Noble also has no reason being on the team on current form

4) Ndah: I don’t know much about him but is playing at a much lower league than Akpoguma

5) Nwakali: on current form (0 goals 0 assist)shouldn’t be included ahead of Amoo and I am a huge nwakali fan…

There’s also the likes of Simon moses, Collins that has been unimpressive in their last few outings for Super eagles.. once again, in a major tournament, super eagles select a Strong 11 and a weak bench.. we’re going to another tournament with a Solid 11, 3 decent substitutes and a weak bench… overall, as a National team, there should be a blueprint on team selections in order to protect the integrity of our team

These nwakali case self is confusing. Personally, I don’t watch his game at the segunda and cannot vouch for his quality but his only game that I watch at SE vs Athletico Madrid, the guy was impressive but that was few years ago. As a coach or winning team, you shouldn’t select players based on what they achieved “years ago” rather, their present form.. people that watch nwakali games, can you vouch for his quality based on this season performance and what should we expect from nwakalihuh Statistically based on this season, Amoo also deserve an invite much more than nwakali but that’s another conversations for another day…

This is the reason u see us canvass of foreign coaches because the indigenous coaches are barely ambitious and ready to see beyond the super eagles coaching job... they don't even see themselves managing a European club someday...after their sack they keep sticking around, lobbying to get reemployed again and later sacked and the cycle continues. It is shame

I doubt if not for rohr's effort I doubt we would have this large number of fo reign born players play for us at this time because this indigenous coaches will rather want the players to come see them instead of meeting up with the players

I am just not too happy over that list at all
Rohr was also a chief architect of Dubious, undeserving selection so I’m unsure if it’s an “indigenous” or Foreign coach issue.. Or an Instruction from above.. I won’t even be surprised if NFF were intentionally prolonging Ejaria and ademola lookman switch simply to protect some of their boys..

Which winning DNA did the Super Eagles have in the last five years not to give a damm about other factors that can affect the team?

As I said, Eguavoen has already made some drastic changes to suit his philosophy. He can not push it too far few weeks to a major tournament.

I am saying that, ‘We don’t have a Winning DNA’ because people like you are Ok with selecting undeserving players simply because of what, they achieved in the past…. Nigga , this is very simple.

Ndidi is not a natural DM. He was converted to that position from central defence. Ndidi doesn't have the skill set to read games and made and contribute positively to attack.

And the thing about Ndidi "holding back" , well , let me kindly say you can't give what you don't have. Therefore , Ndidi isn't holding back, he just doesn't have anything to give , besides tackles and blocks.

I say , move him back to where he started , CD.

But take this truth , Ndidi , Ekong, KC , Aribo ,Iwobi , Simon Moses and Rohr are the reason why we keep playing soccer without passion.
Very untrue. For example, the Ndidi of brugge used to shoot and score from outside the box. Now, he doesn’t even shoot from far anyone. That’s one example of holding back

While watching Eguavoen's tactical video, he talked about something. Dictating play with diagonal long balls.

Chukwuemeka might destroy with skill and pace. However, he does not play that way. He does not dictate play with diagonal long balls.

So will you force the coach to abandon his philosophy because a player destroys team with skill and pace? It does not work like that. The coach must pick players that suit his philosophy. Even if the player plays on the moon.
The mistake that some of you make is to judge their talented players solely by their club performances. Club performance should be one of the requirements needed to be invited at their national team. But, it shouldn’t ‘solely’ be the metrics of consideration. For example, iwobi scored 3 goals and 2 assist at the previous stage of WCQ for Nigeria playing at his favorite position. But, his performance so far this season at Everton has been poor. So, should we drop him at SE despite him being one of our most outstanding player at this previous WCQ for flopping at Everton or we should consider his good performance for SE?? Moses Simon has 7 assists and 2 goals for nantes this season and is rated as their ‘best player’ but he failed to impress, score nor assist in 6 WCQ for Nigeria…. My point is, let’s give players that has impressed for Nigeria previously as long as they’re fit, playing and on their team a chance and if they fail to impress, you can drop them. But, to ignore an impressive Nigerian player, playing for Nigeria solely because of his ratings at club side is unacceptable
