BascoVanVeli: Quick question, if Rohr brings back Ighalo where do u think he will put Victor? What did Rohr introduce Victor to the national team as?
Ok moving on, Onuachu is not just an header of the ball. Most of his club goals are with his feet. His only goal for us was with his feet. He is one of the leading strikers in Europe. It is an obligation to mention his name when u are talking about Nigerian strikers.
Osimhen can thrive on the wings because of his pace, hard work and decision making. Him playing on the wings will not take anything away from his goal scoring, it rather adds another goal scorer to the fray. First of all, if ighalo returns back to SE, he is coming in as an experienced "Squad player" definitely not starting ahead of Osimehn except the coach introduce a 2 Strikers formation. In reference to onuachu, yes, he is the top scorer at his club but let's be honest, the guy has had only 1 good game out of 9 and if he follows the same trajectory, nothing will Change. You simply do not Utilize your best Striker on the wings because you want to accommodate another striker that way, your team won't capitalize on their potential. As for onuachu, most of his goals this season are Headers and Tap-ins (Not Bad at all) but the best way to utilize him is to find Great crossers of the ball and anything contrary, you're wasting your time. We should also keep an eye on Terem and Sadiq those 2 Guys looks like an upcoming talent. Honestly, Strikers is the least of SE problems |

A player thats only 31 and has plethora of experience including playing for MU and just recently being the top scorer at ANC. I am not saying that he should be a starter, but his experience can be useful from the bench |

BascoVanVeli: Yes he would have to really grab his opportunity but that is a possibility.
Lol @ Rohr with his inshallah but I think his problem is more in game tactics because he normally sets up well for starters. It is just when backs get against the wall that he can't truly be counted upon.
I think Osimhen can also play on the left wing to accommodate someone like Onuachu. Osimehn on the wings for onuachu? Madness. As long as SE don't have good crossers of the ball, onuachu will be pointless in SE set up. We're better investing in terem or Sadiq as osimehn back up. The coach should never play his best striker at the wings |

TheSuperNerd: What Nwakaeme was expected to do as a 28 yrs old pro player and starter in his first NT game? Same thing Onuachu did in his first game naa at 24. Abi Onuachu no tear net??
Nwakaeme was no teenager on his debut. He was not 18 for goodness sake. So bringing up an 18 yrs old Osimhen who was into his first pro year of football to make excuses for a man who has seen about 7 years of professional football at his debut is the funny aspect of this discussion.
And it is not mockery please. It is me pointing out the obvious age gap in professional experience between both debut cases. One was 28 and well into his 7th year in professional club football and got a start. While the other came off the bench for the last 5 mins in a game we had already conceeded.
Nwakaeme wasn't a baby abeg. So stop making excuses for a full grown man. A good player he remains, but he isn't better than some of our wing options. He might not be better than our current winger when everyone is "in form" But on current form, he is one of SE best winger. But whats annoying us is totally dismissing him based on 25 minutes cameo while clubless and out of from players keep getting selected. To add insult to injury, Another player scores 3 goals in the same league and everyone start salivating while he has been scoring for the past 3 seasons while fans/pundits here are Mute. E nor fair |

TheSuperNerd: And again you need to stop making this very fallacious statement. Is it that you are new to this thread or you just skip posts that actually have given Nwakaeme a mention? What is this statement really??
And yes, he scored 14 goals and 7 assists in all comps... But in what league please? Only one of those goals came in the Europa league.
Osimhen scored 13 goals and had 4 assists in a much lighter league in Ligue 1, doing so with 10 league games still to play and the internet didn't break so leave that careless, baseless talk about internet breaking if certain players did what Nwakaeme did. Osimhen did much more in a higher league and NL still dey work! E shock you?
Moses Simon also had a storming season in Ligue 1. Bagged 5 goals and 5 assists in Ligue 1 which is levels above Turkey and the internet still dey alive. So wetin you dey talk sef?
In all comps, he had about 9 goals + 5 assists or so. Made the Nantes Team of the decade (2011-2020) and also got nominated for the Marc Vivien foe award in Ligue 1 for Best African player in France. An award won by Osimhen. Yet we are still here and you dey talk of this site breaking.
Nwakaeme is a good player but it is up to Rohr to call him up and if he doesn't, I still won't complain because we have loads of other good options as well. We also have a Lookman coming in soon. Would you pick Nwakaeme over Lookman based on stats alone? First of all, the argument was that you shouldn't just dismiss a player based on 25 minutes cameo because some players initially perform bad then eventually succeed i.e osimehn. If osimehn was dismissed after his first 3 games (no goals) would it had been fair? NO. Also, the turkey league is a Farmers league like belgium and France league but remember that our 2013 ANC king (Victor Moses) flopped at that League. 5 in 20. Anyway, like I said based on last and this season performance Nwakaeme has been one of SE best Wingers and you and I know well that if onyekuru had scored 14 goals 5 assists in all competitions in turkey league, and didn't get a call up, Rohr Competency would had been questioned here. All I am suggesting is partial, Fair and Honest selection/hype/promotion from coaches and fans. Although, I am Onyekuru fan but it didn't sit right in my heart when Onyekuru scored 3 and everyone here celebrated him while someone else has been doing similar and been ignored for the past 3 seasons |

TheSuperNerd: This is actually untrue. Osimhen's first game was against SA and he was a very late sub. What were your expecting? But I recall even TheGoodJoe noted Osimhen's small impact and potentials in that very game when he came on. Osimhen's movement and pressing were especially mentioned by TheGoodJoe while the rest of us dwelt on the loss and on lashing Iheanacho and Rohr. Lol. It wasn't to say Osimhen did better than anyone in just five mins but a few positives were seen and I agreed with GoodJoe.
In Osimhen's second game, he was a sub again vs Togo back in 2017. We won 3-0 courtesy of 2 from Musa and One from Iheanacho. Osimhen later came on for Musa and acquitted himself well indeed. But this game wasn't counted among Fifa graded friendlies coz we made 9 subs in the game.
In his actual officially capped second game vs Uganda in a friendly in 2018, Osimhen's started alongside Chukwueze who ass making his debut and had a very good first half.
At Afcon 2019 vs Tunisia, in his officially capped third game in the GWG in that third place game, he replaced Ighalo and had a fairly decent showing. This is a lad who was 20 at the time and getting set to step into Iggy's shoes. He was already being groomed for the #9 role of the NT.
Osimhen's actual fourth game (if I don't count the Togo game which was scrapped off Fifa records) was also his second start vs Ukraine and what a performance he put up.
So you are wrong to say Osimhen didn't do well in his first two SE Games. Against Uganda, he did very okay. That was his first start and he was delightful to watch. His 2nd start, he was even more super delightful to watch.
Vs SA (his debut), I don't know how you wanna grade an 18 yrs old teenager for a cameo of 5 mins. That's really funny. And you wanna use that to justify the performance of a 28yrs old Nwakaeme in his first start?? The 10yrs Difference plus the gap in professional experience no slap you abi? Lol You're actually proving his point. Osimehn didn't score in his first 3 official games for SE but kept on getting more chances. Now, the rest is History lol another person got 20 minutes in his 1st game and was never recalled again lol |

TheSuperNerd: Oya point out how Kalu has been out-of-form this season? A player that scored as recently as almost two weeks ago vs Lyon in Ligue 1? Kalu is on 3 goals and 1 assist in 9 starts in Ligue 1. Out of form?
Or is it Chukwueze? Before his groin problem, Chuks bagged two assists in his last three games for Villarreal. Out of form?
Perhaps it is Simon who you wanna point out as out of form now but he keeps playing too and at a higher level than Nwakaeme. Also, Simon in the GWG delivers for the most parts. Should we drop him then for Nwakaeme because of his Super Lig stats? Please tell me. I want to know which winger you are really having a go at.
Or is it Dennis? Dennis just joined Koln very recently and got his first goal for them within his first three Koln games. He is out of form too abi?
And how do I explain the case with Musa? Musa is clubless now yes. But he is Super Eagles Captain and he has always been a big game player for us when it matters. Musa's case is more about reputation rather than Form or stats so tell me how you would handle dropping him as the coach without any drama.
And I have a question for you. Whenever the so called "out-of-form" got called up? Did he deliver when it mattered or not? Who saved our blushes against a stubborn Benin side that almost spoilt our opening AfconQ campaign for us? Who?? Out-of-form Kalu indeed.
And stop worrying about Henry Onyekuru. Rohr hasn't called him up in a while and I don't he will get an invite for the March games. So why does he getting praised here bother you so much? Na wa for this bros. I understand your point, but so far, the dude has 6 Goals and 4 assists this season and his name hasn't even been mentioned here at all but onyekuru scored 3 goals and became the best thing since slice bread. Anyway, based on this season, he has been SE best winger 6 goals 4 assists and yea, its a lower league but we have to analyze the calibre of goals that the man score. Even last season, the guy scored 14 goals and 5 assist in all competitions. If it was our favorite that did that, this site would had broken. All I am saying is that we should be consistent, fair and partial in our Selection and hyping of our players. We cannot pick and choose when to dismiss a player based on his league vs when to hail a player based on their league. Lastly, based on current form, nwakaeme deserves a Call up to SE |

TheSuperNerd: How has Nwakaeme been better than any of our starting wingers in the GWG? Explain.
Also explain how his stats in turkey will easily translate to anything better than what we have now. I am waiting. My brother you can't just keep calling out of form players just because they were originally impressive in their first games. I feel like "in form" players should be selected until they totally flop multiple times. For example, Last season, Nwakaeme was actually SE best Winger and the best winger in turkey league but he never got a chance to prove himself while clubless Musa, Out of form Kalu kept on getting recalled. Subzero047: 3-5-2 is a negative formation, there not much creativity in the middle because the midfielders are trying to plug the gaps created by the overlapping wing backs, it is not possession based and usually relies on cross and nod
Rohr has used it several times because we don't have good enough midfielders but now we have a good midfield I see no need for it It depends on who you're playing against and how you use your Rwb and Lwb. If you're playing against an inferior opponent, you can use Traditional wingers as your RWB and LWB while if you're playing against superior opponents like Brazil, you can use full backs as your RWB and LWB. I dont think its a negative formation just use it correctly |
