TheSuperNerd: Relax My Man Chris. Relax.
Don't make it look like an Nwakali vs Onyeka thing.
Yes, Nwakali looked quite unplayable yesterday. Infact, I almost shed tears just seeing the lad finally show us all what we have been missing. Look at the smoothness, ease, high technicality and pinpoint accuracy of all his passes and deliveries yesterday. He dropped a true central midfield conducting Masterclass. No caps. 92% passing accuracy, 36 accurate passes out of 39 attempted passes, 24 accurate passes in/into opposition half, 12 in own half, 2/5 accurate crosses, 4/6 accurate long balls, 1 clearance, 2 interceptions, 8 recoveries, 3 chances created, 1 big chance created, 4 corners delivered.
For the first time in long while, all our setpieces (corners and freekicks) looked constantly threatening all game with Nwakali standing over them.
But yes, Nwakali lost some duels yesterday on the defensive side which Ndidi mopped up for. Ndidi's Defensive actions side complimented Nwakali's passing range and creative nous from deep.
Now, to Frank to the Tank, be informed that although he had only 15 mins in his Afcon debut yesterday, that beast didn't lose one duel (3/3 duels won- 100%) and even got himself into 3 tackles while winning 1.
Frank came and locked up that middle for good. We all know his defensive side is far superior to Nwakali's so in the physical side, he excelled.
So both Nwakali and Onyeka had fine showings yesterday.
Onyeka was Solid in the few mins he had and Nwakali, truth be told really brought back memories of the legend Mikel Obi. So much that he almost brought tears to my eyes.
Uncle Elder Kog45 is spot on. Anyone who watched Nwakali closely yesterday and saw Mikel in his time won't help but bring the two into one sentence. Class oozed. Elegance similar. We pray the boy gets better.
A comfortable win yesterday and even the much vilified Umar gas a goal to his name. lol.
For me, nothing much to say again oooo... You all have said most of what needs to be said. But I must talk on one more person in my next post.
We move. Eguavoen and the crew are not joking. Our depth is scary.
And as for Ndidi... In honor of his World Class Defensive showings yesterday further cementing why he has dominated England and by extension, Europe in all defensive actions stats for 4 seasons straight before the current season (21/22)... I leave this below.
Ndidi, The Midfield Octopus. In the long run, that 424 formation has to be sacrificed for a 433. We need 1 dm, 1 cm and 1 Am. Also, I want to see nwakali as a mainstay in our Midfield. But, not at the expense of Aribo |

Although, anything short of 1st or 2nd will be classified as unsuccessful Eguavoen has to continue after this tournament except he isn’t interested |

I have been highly impressed with Eguavoen team Selections, timely substitution, team performance and style. So far, we have been the best team at this tournament thus far (my opinion) it’s almost like he is listening to super eagles fans because he has been rectifying our complains on Rohr |

Mujtahida: He must not surpass it. He's practically been with the team for less than a month. We are playing well. That is immensely satisfying to me. A trophy will be an icing on the cake. I really do want them to win a trophy but if we don't win it, we will treasure the immense potential of this team. That one na your problem. Last time we reach 3rd place, this time we must reach 1st or 2nd place or tournament will be considered a Failure. Wetin consign agbero guy with overload? Do I give a Bleep about beautiful football? |

At the last tournament, we achieved a 3rd place it’s normal to aspire/aim to do better than the last tournament. A 1st or 2nd place will be consider as progress |

lexyman: I think I have already penned down my World Cup playoff qualifier team . Sadiq Umar for Osimhen (Osimhen , Awoniyi and Olayinka in tha order . Ejuke for Denis . Or Ademola Lukman Chukwueze should watch his back . In his good form he can be a game winner
I would prefer to keep our midfielders , they can get better .
Back line also they can be better ... just worried about Balogun .
This squad will do justice to the World Cup qualifier against any team my confidence has been restored Ejuke is here to stay |

komekn: You are right about the through ball to Sadiq to and the other pass. But that's about it
A Midfielder job is very simple when you have the ball you attack when you don't have the ball you defend.
Under these key performance indicators he was very poor .
Work rate - very very poor. Backtracking - very poor Tackles - very poor Blocks - very poor Closing down space - oor Interception- poor Passing - below average Physicality - very poor
This is where he fails woefully.
If not for Ndidi and Ajayi covering for him he was essentially a liability in midfield. Guy did you watch this game? When sergio b does it, no one complains but when a black man do it, all he’ll break lose |

I don’t GAF about the performance, all I care about is the result. Rohr achieved a 3rd place result last tournament and even defeated cameroun, South Africa. Because of all those few.words of mine, me too am now forcefully a fanboy of Awoniyi Someone that has 14 goals in all competitions at the big 5 so far this season? My friend, will you keep quiet |

Anyway, Simon end product was impressive vs Sudan. He needs to continue such performance with a good end product in order to convince Nigerians |

andrewbaba44: His fan boys are not sincere ,that’s one thing I learnt.
He will surely start today . . There’s nothing like fan boys. Everyone are super eagles supporters and we have one common interest. “Super eagles” a team like SE that usually produces “agidi” type of midfielders, I believe that it’s a breath of fresh air when finesse, IQ, technical midfielder is seen around our midfield. Honestly, it just boils down to the type of game plan our coaches are trying to execute |

Same you was also complaining about Moses simon performance
It’s not yet time to rate nwakali best performance for eagles ,he hasn’t played enough minutes . I was complaining about Simon end product vs Egypt. I.e No assist, goals, shot on target. His dribbled past his man but hugs end product was atrocious. Against Sudan, his end product was impressive. 1 goal and 1 assist. |

ChrisKels: Dude was very impressive and made playing in the midfield look so easy. Very orgasmic on the ball I didn’t even know that he was that comfortable on the ball and I was very confused why people were complaining. With such performance, he is here to stay especially as his competitors are mostly agidi type. I will access his performance today. Moses Simon was impressive although he needs to improve tremendously on his crosses or he should stop crossing |

I was watching nwakali last Nigeria game and couldn’t fathom why many were complaining of his performance. For me, he was impressive. The guy is very comfortable on the ball, created spaces for his team mate and delivered impressive short/long range of passes. In fact, he reminded me of a certain Barcelona midfielder. So, what was the grumble about here? It seems that people want all our midfielders to be strictly “agidi” type of CM? I believe that it’s very important to diversify in terms of our midfielders qualities.. The match vs Sudan was nwakali best performance at SE and I was impressed. Now, I see how a CM doesn’t have to score or assist to influence a game. Once a CM can control/dictate the tempo of a game, it makes the difference. If you score, na jara be dat |
