PoliticsRe: Boko Haram Attack In Kano; Shame On Us All, But Shame On The Kano People More!! by 13volts(m): 9:22pm On May 01, 2012
have it occurred to you that of all jtf success in the fight against Boko Haram, kano state have given it its most cooperation. Boko Haram have suffered more loss in equipment and manpower in kano than maiduguri and yobe combined. if the people of maiduguri and yobe were half cooperative as those in kano, this menace will have long been history. can't you see the swiftness in which those that carried the BUK attack were identified and the necessary info passed on to the JTF.

WE SHOULD GIVE KUDOS TO THE PEOPLE OF KANO
PoliticsRe: Boko Haram: Why We Attacked Thisday by 13volts(m): 10:55pm On Apr 26, 2012
We northerners have been rendered as a voiceless people in this media war and propaganda, we are unable to tell our stories strongly from our own perspective while others do it for us, and they paint their version of the truth in whatever colour hue they deem fit. Nigeria media needs to have a re think, about its stereotype reporting and biased coverage. Bear in mind, am not in anyway suggesting Boko Haram are right in attacking Thisday. My point is that we should look inwards, the world we live in is like a mirror, if you laugh at it, it laugh back. If you frown at it, it frown back at you.
PoliticsRe: Boko Haram: Why We Attacked Thisday by 13volts(m): 10:35pm On Apr 26, 2012
You just need an internet connected mobile phone and you are set to begin unleashing your full arsenal against “Northerners”. The activities of Boko Haram which have claimed more Muslim lives, wreaked more havoc to Northern cities than anywhere else are attributed to desperate Northern politicians who lost out in the political chess game,

Come to think it, in as much as I disagree with the bombing, I must say Nigeria media needs to be objective in thier reporting. In Nigeria media it is an all-out media war and propaganda against the North. From the mainstream media to social networks, online forums to blogs, it is hunting season for anything Northern.

PoliticsZamfara Graduate, Muhammad Usman To Address World Energy Forum In US by 13volts(op): 2:02pm On Apr 20, 2012
A 24-year-old graduate from Zamfara State,
Muhammad Usman, would present a paper at the
2012 session of the World Renewable Energy Forum
(WREF) scheduled for May 13 -17, in Denver,
Colorado, United States. Usman’s paper is entiled “Rural Solar Electrification-Renewable Energy Potential and Distribution for Development in Nigeria.” He is a 2010 Economics graduate from Ahmadu Bello
University, Zaria and Programme Officer at the Gusau-based Centre for Energy and Environment in Zamfara State.
The objective of Usman’s presentation, according to a
statement posted at the WREF’s website, “will highlight the abundance of solar energy in Nigeria and its usage in local areas, especially remote corners of the country,” adding that “in Nigeria, solar energy is one of the most promising of the renewable energy sources, in view of its apparent limitless
potentialities.” The conference is presented by the American Solar Energy Society, World Renewable Energy Network, International Solar Energy Society, National Renewable Energy Laboratory and
sponsored by UNESCO and Colorado Renewable Energy Collaboratory. The statement explained that, “it has been confirmed that Nigeria receives 5.08 x 1012 kilowatt-hours of energy per day from the sun, and if solar energy appliances with just 5% efficiency are used to cover only 1% of the country’s surface area, then 2.54 x 106 megawatt-hours of energy can be obtained from solar energy . This amount of electrical energy is equivalent to 4.66 million barrels of oil per day.” Other speakers at the conference include Dan Arvizu, Director, National Renewable Energy Laboratory; Cary Kennedy, Deputy Mayor, City and County of Denver; Edward Mazria, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Architecture 2030; Dennis Dimick, Executive, Environment Editor, National Geographic; among other energy and environment experts.

Who disputed the claim? A law maker who probably is in Abuja and might have never been to the said market before.
Who saw the bomber. A fellow Berom man with an eagle eye, who then alerted the stf.

PoliticsYet Again A Christian Arrested Attempting To Bomb Market In Jos. by 13volts(op): 8:08am On Apr 11, 2012
The Special Task Force in Jos on Tuesday arrested
a man said to be attempting to plant a bomb at a market in Riyom Local Government of Plateau State.
The suspect, identified as Monday Davou, was said to have been arrested while assembling materials to setting off a bomb at Makera Market. The market, which holds every seven days, was said to be
full around 11am, when an eagle-eyed man was said to have suspected the movement of the 38-year-old suspecand quickly alerted the security officers nearby who arrested Davou and whisked him away.
A security source told our correspondent that the substances recovered from the suspect were capable of detonating when assembled.
It was learnt that among items recovered from him were bomb timers, some quantity of fertiliser and other dangerous substances used in assembling Improvised Explosive Devices. STF spokesman, Capt. Mdahyelya Markus, confirmed the arrest of the suspect. He said investigations were on to determine the man’s intention. Riyom has become notorious for serial killings in the recurring crisis in Plateau State pitting the indigenous Berom with their Fulani neighbours. However, the lawmaker representing Riyom in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Mr. Daniel Dem, disputed the claims of security agencies.
Dem said, “Monday Davou was not the bomber. The police were already on the spot when Davou, who was probably under some influence, engaged the policemen in an argument and in anger, he kicked the clock attached to the bomb. That was why he was arrested and not in connection with the bomb.” The lawmaker said he even confirmed from some security officials in the area and the head of operations in the area had told him that he had instructed that the whole place be thoroughly searched on every market day.
He said “You will recall that this is the second time that a bomb had been discovered in the market and the sector commander had told me that he had instructed his men to comb the market at 4am on every market day before the traders start arriving.”
