In the whole of Niger-Delta region I dont think there are up to 20 mosques there. Bt in North there are more churches than even the Christains themselves, but that is not a justification to demolishh churches in Maiduguri or North. The government said it want to use the land to construct houses for its citizens, I dnt think the church shld hv prblm with that. Bt the state shld compensate them and relocate to another place.

By the way,I hope they would compensate them or give them land elsewhere to build their churches and schools? Otherwise,it's obvious that this is pure religious hatred and persecution. And that is not suppose to happen in a country like this, because we are a secular country.

bennychuks: I am not supprised at all that the Boronu Govt is planing to demolish churches.
We know that the Boronu state governor is purely Boko Haram member. He should be
Reminded that whatever a man sow that he shall reap. The BH people should think of the negative effect it cause in this country.
Do they think we don't have Mosque in the East?. I saw Nigeria disintegrate. Let the north fastrack it. We shall see the end of it

Boronu? Eediot!!

There are many religion freaks & bigots on nairaland. It's annoying when you see people blindly throwing stones simply because of unconfirmed reports.
I think a lot of pple on here need re-orientation.
It is not the religion that we practice that is bad,it is we the pple that are BAD.
Islam, xtianity, judism, budhaism.None of these religion preaches violence&hatred.
We shld individually ask ourselves what good have we done 2 better the lots of fellow humans.

naptu2: 1) The government has the power to acquire the land under the Land Use Act.

2) The government is required to pay compensation to the owners of the property (most likely the reason why it's being valued).

3) The article was written in an inflammatory and sensationalist tone in order to get more readers.

4) Borno State is not the first state to demolish mosques and churches in the interest of the public.

Both churches and Mosque
ifeness: Imagine converting all churches to homes where homeless people can lay their heads. That would be a positive development. Churches are really unnecessary to our society.

Rivers and the Better South is Christian.

All Christians in the north be it migrants or indigenes should relocate to the better south.

Let us leave these bastards to their own device.
