revealed that as a young man, he worked as
a bouncer at a night club in Buenos
Aires. The revelation came while the
Supreme Pontiff was recalling some the
jobs he has held throughout his life,
including sweeping floors, running test in a
chemistry lab, and teaching literature and
psychology. The recollection of the jobs he
held was in response to a parishioner’s
questions about her nephew, who was
struggling to pay his debts before
