from this post you can see that most nigerians are to an extent corrupt some even castigating the man for trying to do the right thing. OP if u cant go and complain to your bank then leave the money where it is and continue to use your account as normal once the bank realizes the mistake they will take back the money. 1 Like |

dryakson: It sounds silly but belive me or not it is PURELY real. I receive credit alert about a week now notifying me of 800,000 naira into my bank account from an unknown person, I was extremely surprised I even thought is 800 naira until I refresh my eyes and saw 800,000. You have really done well by asking for advice. Please do not withraw the money, it could be a mistake by the Processor and the bank will go after you with police when the money is traced to your account. Also, fraudsters within the bank may want to use your account as transit which would be discovered and u may end up in jail. Report to the branch and earn a good reputation as well as trust that will be more than your collateral in case u need the bank to grow ur business in future. 4 Likes |

Put the fear of God in everything you do. Go and ask your bank for a complete statement of account and see if you can trace the creditor. Now the problem is, if you alert the bank, the crooked employees among them may remove the money but not return it to its owner. Another theory is that your account is being used for runs by crooked bank employees. I dont know bro. But dont touch the money. Fear God in everything you do in life and he will be faithful to you. |

If this truely happen, don't touch it. Is an error you will be called by your bank later for you to transfer it too the original receipient. If go you ahead and withdraw it, when the bank discovers, it will be traced to you and you will be treated like a criminal. Be guided is not God answering your prayers. |

Its not (yet) your money as the source is still unknown to you, for all you care it may be the result of a fraud and you are just a fall guy,. anyways, write a letter to the Branch Operations Manager of your bank and state that; you are the owner of the account number xxxxxx, that on the named date you received an sms alert ( or the appropriate medium through which you became aware of the deposit, that you did not make rhe refernced deposit, and had not authourized anyone to so do. furthermore, request the following from the bank (but give them seven days or thereabout to respond); a comprehensive statement of your account, the full details of the depositor of the said sum of =N=800k .... lets take it from there first,do the above and get back 2 Likes |

OP,you know what to do,don't let nlers pollute your mind. If you have the intention of getting to the root, simply go to the bank and demand for the name and the number of the depositor which I believe will be on the deposit slip. I will advice you to do everything possible to return the money to real owner. If you go ahead to spend the money,it will add more problem to your problem. 1 Like |

It is so sad to see how criminally minded Nigerian youth are. If you have not worked for the money and you have no idea where it's coming from , the money is not yours- period. If you spend it , you will be no better than any thief. Call the attention of your bankers. 2 Likes |

If u kno u cannot escape wit d money,do not bother to withdraw the money. From the moment you asked for advice shows that your conscience seems not to support such so i say FOLLOW YOUR HEART.Every man answers his fathers name and you need to play the fiddle well. Good luck! |

OP, please do not mind these people who are telling you to send the money to them or spend the money. Do not try it! You'll pay big time. A friend of mine nearly went to jail and lost a year in school for daring to spend such money almost 120k in his own case. I'll advice you go the bank and confirm the identity of the sender of the money. Appropriate action will be taken by your bank. |

I will suggest you walk in to the nearest branch and ask for details of the person who sent the money to you. You can as well get the person's contact and call to talk to the person. I suggest you do it in a way that the customer care person will be willing to talk to whoever can call up the transaction to get the details. Glad to know some good people still exist. |
