What the country needs now, is a job creator not a job seeker.

The op is just an attention seeker someone asked some reasonable questions on the first page but you decide to reply with some unrelated questions.
If you can't make it in the land of opportunity like USA then your chance of making it here is so slim and with this your attitude slimmer

Best reply ever!

In the US, you will survive comfortably but achievement is up to you. But in Naija, its the survival of the fittest let alone achievement.

A word is enough for the wise.

yes u are right , nigerians have been working on it for 50 fifty years ...no much have improved since ..ordinary cctv surveilance for extra security with low cost dem no fit for public place and police stations ..you kinda think the citizens of nigeria loves the status quo .

The igbo's will say "amara aju bu ihe ojoo," ie to ask for what u already know is bad. Surely the op knows d answer to his questions and with this kind of ur attitude survival in Naija will be harder for u.

Regarding your questions, you can get a good job that pays very well provided you have some few years working experience as any firm that will hire you will have to match your pay. The challenge however, is that the cost of living is pretty expensive in Nigeria as many people will want to get their own share of your money.
With a good job, you can get to live in choice places where the traffic wouldn't be too much.

boneruns: The OP is a core critic of Nigeria. He has always discouraged people from staying in a Nigeria, and always advised them to desperately relocate out of Nigeria.

I wonder what he now sees in the country he resents so much.

Goodluck.

Be very careful, that is all I can say. I don't know how long you have been overseas, but the longer the harder. I burnt more than 28 million naira in Nigeria last year and had to run back to my base. Nigeria is a very harsh environment full of dubios people calling themselves born again. If you go on OXL.com, you will see where I have advitised most of the equipment I bought for my busines which NEPA, Fashola and criminals never gave a chance.

Please, people should stop replying him. I think he's probably tired of staying in Nigeria & instead of saying so, he brought about the notion that he is in the USA & wants to return. Who knows, he probably is in mushin, lagos or somewhere lost in the north.

The way people die on Nigerian roads is perplexing, a couple whose wife visited US just this Oct died in car accident few days ago. She and her hubby were returning home and got hit by a trailer, they survived initial crash but when they were taken to the hospital by a Samaritan, she was made to walk in the hospital, lives cut short without blame of their own. Talk less of countless untold stories of lives cut short. And Nigerians see this as normal thing, it's no surprise, life expectancy is paltry 50 years. That alone is a turn off.

Yes, go ahead. But make sure you buy a return ticket to the US, you may need it in no time! also ensure your properties are kept in the storage (don't give it out or donate it yet), you may need them back.
1 + 1 is not 2 in Nigeria, it's a broken system. You may start regretting your decision right from the airport. People are out there that are ready to take advantage of you (family members inclusive).
A friend's sister in-law went to Naija for NYSC (i no know wetin she need am for), she got kidnapped 2 weeks ago.
Need i say more?

This is the truth and this may be the ans u are looking for. 1st the country has not change, occruption is the order of the day, no standard light, no good road, police are stiil the same and crime is on a high increase here. So many nigerian are on the run out of this country for better future(me too). Nigeria is hell on earth "the simple truth". 2ndly if u really want to come to nigeria, come back to only invest and then go back, the nigeria economy is on the increase and only the rich and very hardworking nigerian can tap into it. Since ur in the state i tink ur ok der just work hard raise some money and come to nigeria for a short time a month aleast to see around (fine a sector u will like to invest ur money, technology sector, clothing line, housing sector-this one is so good, etc), then invest ur money, get someone u trust(a lawyer will do) to manage it for u then go back and live ur life in the state. Y i urge u to invest in nigeria is due to the downfall in the top western economies, if things go worng like it did in spain, ltay etc u can still come back to nigeria wit a sure mind dat u have some investment already to keep ur life going, make sure u pop in to see hw ur business or investment is going. Moreover ask urself this question will u be able to deal wit the problems in nigeria, the problem is just too much even our ISP are crazy, the worst is that the citizens are not making life any easy. Imagine i gave my generator to a confirm eng to fix, i over paid him 7k, but the man ate my money and scatter my generator after i spent 7k hardearn money on it. Now i cant even use it when ders no light, the fact is even when u try to do ting right here people will make it worng. The Govt too are not helping either, if u cant take the suffering just stay were u are my brother. As for jobs if u have a foreign certification with a big cv(if u no wat i mean) then u may get a job as foreign certification is a big plus if u want a job. But jobs no dey here for poor man execpt God favour u. It better to be a cleaner in the states live well and be hapi than u earn big pay in nigeria and have problems owed salaries, strike, crime etc. If u have a US citizenship then u no get wahala, as if tings go worng u can relocate back to the states but if u never get am (US PASSPORT) my bros abeg stay der oooo and get it before u come back here or ur children will blame u for not doing so. In all home is home, taxs is less here and ur free indeed unlike over der in the states. Peace

I won't advice you Bro but i'll let you experiment Nigeria yourself.

* During summer, put off your power switch. All of them.
* Get on your bed and try to sleep.
* You can get a copy of TIME magazine if you want, it helps a lot because it has a hard cover.
* Pull the hard cover out and just swing it above yourself slowly until you fall asleep.
* Repeat this experiment everyday through out the summer, then decide for yourself if you want to move back to Nigeria or remain in the US.

You can thank me later. grin grin #ExperienceIsTheBestTeacher

Darling, I feel your pains overseas. sad But dear, this is a very big step you are trying to embark on.
1)You must reconsider your status over there vis-a-vis your status when you settle here.
2)Also consider if Nigeria is the right country for you Spiritually and otherwise.
3) US is very big; you might need to look out for other States, more harmonious to you, that do not vibrate negatively.
NOTE: Nigeria is realy very UNSTABLE & UNPREDICTABLE, in this recent time.
