Pls, i need someone that will serve as my mentor, someone that will teach me this free to air starting from the beginning. I want to announce to the whole house that after reading and reading, i decided to challenge myself which i have done by purchasing my own strong decoder srt46661x upgraded to 46663x.hope I've bought a good one?. Before next week, i will make sure i get all the remaining materials like 1.8 fibre dish, lnb and my cable. I believe with your help, i will be able to do this on my own like others have done in the past. Thank God for this forum and thanks to you all for your invaluable assistance.

@all,
Those rushing to register in the G-group should only do so out of
true sincerity. If you're registering just because of the satellite
alignment goodie, you may be dissapointed O.
I think I may have to take it down because of the unnecessary attention
it is generating.
NOTE: That stuff was supposed to be a VALENTINE day's gift to all GOOD
members of theĀ  house and now that valentine is over, maybe it's time to
retrieve it.

Support Ngozi Nweke - 19yrs old

Ngozi Nweke was hit by an 18 wheeler truck while driving in Austin Texas on February 13th on her way to meet her Valentine in School. (University of AUSTIN)

Ngozi a non documented immigrant from Nigeria is now facing threatened with a huge medical bill due to her legs being amputated and possible deportation after treatment and recovery.

A Good Nigerian Lawyer, Ben Mbonu in Houston has decided to provide legal assistance to ensure she remains here.

She need over $48,000 we are told. I AM NOT ASKING FOR MONEY - DO NOT SEND MONEY TO ANYONE TO THE FONN (Friends of Ngozi Nweke)

On my part I have pledged to raise $3000 for her. Please help click the links below and enter only your email address.

Doing so will donate $.50 to her medical bills. If we can complete 10000 emails. We will raise her $5000.00

olofofo,
I am really surprised and disturbed that you have forgotten fasone so soon.that means i could be given the same treatment if i disappear on the thread for a few weeks.haba! Fasone is a honorary and wonderful member with some educating posts,in fact,we spoke some weeks back.he called me and gisted for some minutes.please make amends on that embarassment.I couldnt download the software,it seems I wasnt registered properly or what could be wrong?

Enitan,
where are you at? I hope Chioma no break ur back on Saturday! my zain's gprs servers in Lagos and Abeokuta seem not to be active.what is wrong?please holla me.I hopeĀ  Karib will not bite you ooo.I was about to send my post when your post and Karib's came in.welcome.Thank God you survived Chioma's assault.

all,
Adewest and I arrived Lagos from Abeokuta a few hours ago after I hijacked him for about 22hours when he came on an installation trip to Ijebu-ode,Ogun state(Enitan's hometown).He told me he was able to pick Nilesat easily there on 1.8m,even Showsports on 2.4m.I find it hard to believe but the Ijebus are renowned for their juju.Dem fit draw the signal down to their towns.I no trust them.Back to my project,we motorised my 3m fibre in Abeokuta.All the hitherto weak signals on 2.4m pan jumped in easily on 3m fibre-all Orbit packages on Eurobird2,85%Hotbird packages,Atlantic Bird2(AB2) Orbit and Astra/Eurobird1 are now very stable.we couldnt pick Kabelkiosk on AB2.we couldnt sleep until 2am because we had to wait for some very tough tps on AB2 and Hotbird.the greatest discovery is this new station called CRTV crown royal tv promising news,movies,sports and Christian stuffs on Astra 28East/Eurobird1 tp 12599 V 3250.the signal reaches 71% on Echolink and probably 90% on Strong X series.that means even 60cm dish will pick it here.the free porn stations were simply stupid,dont even bother yourself.if you want porn,it's better you buy from the stalls.we also picked SKY NEWS,ITV, Community Channel,etc,on the bird.Adewest did a fantastic job with the dish alignment which is the most important factor in getting the best signals.Infact if you have not installed a minimum of 2.4m dish,please dont brag on this forum.I bow for Adewest.please send all enquiries about frequencies and other technicalities to him.I was down with stomach upset in the last 3days but okay now.please understand.He has taken the pictures of the dishes for uploading to the thread.
I enjoyed jsc+1-4 all through the weekend inspite of my discomfort-FA CUP,SERIE A,LA LIGA,etc.It was too much.I pray it lasts for so long.ART Sport will be the new bride with the fast approaching European Champions League.My Showsports and CNN on Nilesat were 54% and 52% respectively when we were leaving for Lagos a few hours ago.56% and 54% yesternight.

F-Marshal,
I hope you understand my plight.I can add this important tp which I discussed above-CRTV crown royal tv promising news,movies,sports and Christian stuffs on Astra 28East/Eurobird1 tp 12599 V 3250.the signal reaches 71% on Echolink and probably 90% on Strong X series.

I am new to this forum but I learned a lot from it. I am in Abuja I was trying to setup Nile Sat in my house I called an installer to do it for three days he could not lock to the Bird. I googled to reach this forum where I got the gig and that night I locked to the Bird and now am enjoying the FTA. I just applied to the google group. Hope I will be considered. I also need advice on how I can connect to W3.
Thanks Men for the good things happening here!
Re: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by Enigma(m): 11:04pm On Feb 17, 2009
@ toxnaija

Please double check the stated frequency for CRTV; also double-check whether it is on 28east at all. Firstly, 28e only uses two SRs which are 22000 and 27500 (except perhaps for occasional feeds or HD etc) and second I have tested the frequency you gave on 28e and it does not bring any signal --- just as I suspected it would not. It is possible that that particular frequency is from another satellite though obviously you can get 28e because of your mention of ITV and Community Channel.

By the way can you identify the particular ITV as there are many versions of ITV on 28e.

Also for anyone with a large dish who had struggled with Hotbird, try scanning it again as a new satellite, Hotbird 9, is now transmitting from there with huge signals reportedly.

ART is BACK AGAIN! official release should be out tommorow. am watching it right now.

@enigma

the CRTV i have is on eurobird 2 and the TP is 12599v 3250.
Re: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by Enigma(m): 11:12pm On Feb 17, 2009
@ toxnaija

Another thought has crossed my mind: I have just remembered that there is a particular African beam on 28e and if that frequency is on that beam (and probably new for the CRTV service) then we may not get it here. I will look into this a little more.
Re: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by Enigma(m): 11:15pm On Feb 17, 2009
olofofo:

@all
@enigma

the CRTV i have is on eurobird 2 and the TP is 12599v 3250.

In that case Eurobird 2 is at 25.5 (with Badr/Arabsat) and is not Astra 2 at all and to be differentiated from Eurobird 1 at 28.5e. Thanks for the information.

Edited PS olofofo, what is the frequency on which you get CRTV on 25.5e?

Adewest, i think u need a handy internet service,go to the g-group and download opera mini 4.2 multihandler for ur mobile fone,its faster and download faster,and u can browse anywhere u go unlike laptop. The good thing about stuff is that its free and displays just like a desktop and u can surf the net even while holding a 10m dish lol. On the other hand i directed a question to u and badaru,i urgently needed ur opinion. @ all - do anybody observed drop in gpass internet speed connection?

is egypt an african nation or is something wrong with the claim that nigeria is the first african nation to launch a satellite into orbit. what is nilesat?, a spacecraft?

Nigeria is the first Sub-Saharan (read as "Black"wink African country to own a bird.

@ maddox, there are different types of satellite location, the one u were refering to is owned by motorola named iridium, they are used solely for telephony purposes, and the location they are placed is closer to earth than the geo-stationary birds. their orbital period is faster than the geo ones. i will explain better when am on a PC.
.

Yes, but you seem to forget that a run-away Geo-stat bird is a major risk in Clarke's orbit. That's why dying satellites are generally de-orbited before they "run away". I never thought a LEO (Low Earth Orbit) satellite was a risk to the Geo-stats. However, space junk is increasing day by day, you don't know which way they might float.

@All, Guess I failed to mention, last Sunday (15th) was my birthday. Belated wishes and gifts are still acceptable.

@ Gem, called you on Saturday and you didn't pick. You've not even acknowledged in your usual way, hope you're ok or were you getting you Valentine freak on?

@ Enitan, I've got GPass and GTunnel now, so what next?
