When ah was in UNICAL ah spent 5k monthly, 10k was allowance too, but God knows, what we went through then drink garri in the morning, pure water and biscuit in the afternoon, indomie at night. things cost for calabar ehn.

And I need to add that you can augment your income by writing assignments and term papers for all those girls who prefer to do runs than to stay in school and read. Show some ingenuity. You can also gather money to start a small business by the side. One of the things I did when I was in school was that I would sell kerosene higher than the price my family would fix it at our outlet, then use the balance to gather things that could be sold to students in school.

I enjoyed my school days wella. So much money to throw around (which I got not from my parents but from business) with ZERO responsibilities. Unlike now when I have too many responsibilities competing for the money I get.

lol you would think so until you actually have no other choice than to live on 10k a month. honestly a lot of guys live on around 10k in uni.

well let me flash back, there were times i actually lived on even 7k a month lol. in the rosy days, yr 1 and yr2 my dad would give me about 60k for a semester, he issues it in full and once he does, he wouldnt want to hear any stories wether you have to buy books or pay for anyfin is none of his business. i didnt take foodstuffs then, i bought everything i need at school and had no gfs. i have always been a phone freak so i found myself spending about 20k out of my 60k on a phone... then before you know it i was down to 10k a month with no foodstuffs, even worse i forbade to eat out so i had to cook everything i ate.

there was this crazy time i bought a laptop from my 60k...lol.. and i was left with just 15k for the semester..lol, well i did some biz with the laptop and had a lil something coming in once in awhile.

truth is you can survive on 10k as long as you take off anything that isnt necessary and your university isn't one of those compulsory block lecturers school (thank God for UNN). seriously many atimes having a gf is a big drain, even now that am working i am mindful of babes. the day wey e clear for my eye was when my sister called me that she was in dire need of some money and i couldnt oblige her because i just gave some babe double of that and as such i was broke, shii i hated myself that day and since then i took a u turn.

I am old school. University years 2000 to 2005 ASUU strikes inclusive. Back in 2000 I survived on #50daily (A&B or B&B in the morning, G&S or R&S at the Buka in the evening). By 2005, I survived on #1500 budget weekly..... anytime I spend on a babe, I took it out on my feeding money or I do some electrician works to support.

Not proud of this one, I did indulge in Exam Runs ..... getting paid to write exams for others ..... this is wrong ..... I won't encourage anyone to do it.

N10,000 is a small amount but your parents/guardian can only afford that for now.... If they can offer more they might.

Manage what you have.

Every time you get that money, keep in mind that some family rely on less than that amount in a month.

The quantity you consume in one sitting should be put into consideration.

Spaghetti - 100 x 10 = 1000

Garri Paint Bucket 500 = 500

Grinded Pepper @ 200 = 200

Bean 4 Derica x 250 = 1000

Rice 4 Derica x 250 = 1000

Palm Oil @ 250 = 250

Veg. Oil @ 250 = 250

Fruit/Snack/Fuel = 1500

Should serve you for about 3 weeks ..... Set aside the Big boy life for now.... Feed on what you can afford.

You just need to plan around the Pocket money you get and if you feel it is insufficient get some odd jobs. People do it ... They may not tell you that.

1. Get Hotplate and use it when you need to cook Beans cos Kerosene price can make you spend like
2. Buy more garri for afternoon consumption
3. Dont withdraw when you're not in a serious need e.g. Withdrawing N500 because u need N20 will only let you spend more
4. Make sure you have a budget for a day.
You can cook soup and still manage;
Pepper=N100
Egusi=N100
Pomo=N200
Others=N100

Dat will last 2 days of confirm eba or rice.

To be honest with you friend, 10k a month for a male student is huge. That sum was more than enof for me outside of hotel bill when i was doing a pg program in uniben. Campus food is cheapest n of good quality if u dont want to cook. Get beans and more beans with garri and more garri to supplement. I know some folks that cannot get that amount in a semester- no exaggeration, i asure you

you can try to stay away from girls for a start, if you can't then make sure you only follow girls who have no interest in your pocket, also you will have to carry as much food as you can from your house when going to school, the good side to not having money as a student is that it takes away lots of fantasies from your mind, leaving you to just having your books as both your necessity and hobby, and learn to pray to God to be the one to take care of you...because I can imagine what 10k is, it probably is close to what some big cars use to fill their gas tanks up...you are gonna have it rough but there is light at the end of the tunnel...but this your tunnel go long sha

Like seriously all this advice go just blow up mind. But for the fact u know that u are extravagant means u have solve almost half of your problem, simple cut the expenses that's all, stay clear money hungry false simple, always eat at home and eat outside less

I js graduated in August and I actually can spend less than 10k a month.i dun eat out coz eating out is. waste of money rather I cook.i can even eat 3square meals if possible. I make sure. I carry enof foodstuffs frm home and if I see am running out of it I call home and dey SD it thru bus for me. lucky enough I stay close to sch and so I js need to trek. I make d habit of not taking money while going to sch so as to avoid unnecessary spending. I make sure I eat bfore leaving for sch except I ve early lectures. d only thing da probably takes money is my hair do and hey I sure knw wot to do dat last long.lik seriously 10k is more dan enog for u to spend sef. except u dey form big boy for sch
