When you leave these shores, and get an education which opens your eyes...most development and political diplomas and degrees come to mind...plus the access you have to the internet and maaaany libraries and scholarly articles.....it becomes near impossible for you not to condemn neo-colonialist policies....or stay back in Nigeria, and use the internet and read beyond and above what our schools say

When you come back to Africa and see Nigeria....you become utterly convinced and rightfully so, that the colonial construct that is Nigeria is an insult to our blood and human dignity. You start clamouring for the right thing
This happened to me....my eyes were opened to how Nigeria is wrong...(I have always been totally apolitical, and prided myself (foolishly I see now on how little I knew about Nigerian politics..etc)

Ojukwu is my hero, not taking away from his greatness....but just telling you that even a six month diploma cause would open every eye on the wrongness of Nigeria and some policies as they affect Africa
Mugabe got all those degrees and expoded into many defiant, mad pieces
I get it...me too, my friends too, and our fathers were and are not rich

Our politicians are decidedly not educated beyond what we got in uni (which is a story for another day, the quality of our education, which some people deliberately left to be substandard and leaves our brains unchallenged)

This post has nothing to do with oil, PDP, APC, APGA ((which I would support if I must choose one), IPOB, MASSOB, etc
It is just the voice of someone who saw the light, and was shocked out of her political "bimboism"
Send these political looters to get true education,...they would come back, stop stealing, invest most or all of what they stole into good ventures, they would stop being silly about foreign religions and most of all, will lead the clamour for Nigeria to be divided

It is a travesty, really, the Nigerian existence
However I love Nigerians, and when we become divided, we would still be united as children of the black world...which is how we are seen by God...so as they say, nothing spoil

..where some people hail Awolowo as a hero, and some see him as a soulless being totally has no business being one......

Not laying blame...but our fundamental idealogies veer off at different tangents from each other....too diverging, with little or no forces of cohesion....in other, better words....different people, different systems, different beliefs, different pains, different everything

We have NO business being one country, with all due love for the people
I wish I could write as good as that Freeze001 and some people here eg cap78, dearpreye who blow my mind with their intelligence...I would be able to say it all well...

This is good for the Nigerian economy. Do you guys have any idea the amount of money being sent outside the shores of Nigeria every year in the name of scholing abroad? Such money is better spent in Nigeria and it would help prop up the Nigerian economy.

If we are in support of home-grown manufacturing, I don't see why we should not be in support of home-grown graduates.

Hopefully, one day, events affecting all of us would no longer get categorized by tribal undertones. This isn't an incident that could happen only to people of certain tribes, for goodness sake.

The truth about the current situation is that things will never change until we change our mentality. I could remember the rate at which some fools are praising NDA for the bombing of oil installations. what I know is that government will never fold her arms and allow things to degenerate totally. Its fire for fire. Boko Haram issue is small thing compare to what will happen in Niger Delta. And it will be too bad for the region to go beyond repair. Let's join hands together to save this country. NDA are just after their own benefit, people like tompolo, asari etals know where their bread is being buttered. I know that some fools will still quote me but u can't stop the truth.

Well, introversion isn't cool as it can limit one's potential if not carefully managed.

I am one naturally gifted singer with above average sonorous voice... I mostly listen to boy2men and fine tunned my style to theirs.

But for years I battled with my in ability to sing at gathering and thereby almost letting the talent waste.

I know how many times people have commended my singing or voice when I sing alone o. At NYSC sef one dude would ask me to just sing so he could hear.

During later years at school, I told myself that I have to sing even if it's once. It got to that day and I reluctantly worked to my school fellowship president/pastor, almost to the end of the program. My pastor wasn't happy because he felt I didn't inform him... The guy start dey speak in tongues while I smiled and almost denied me of that opportunity but the head, who was and still is my very close friend and pal told him to let me sing.

I introduced myself and the title of the song... A gospel song.

Funny enough na Acapella I wan sing o. Who go back me up. I nor even care.

As God would have it, the 2 people behind me knew the chorus.

And so... Na so I start o.

Silence engulf the room while I processed the first 3 words in the first versed. I looked at the pastor that was warning me and even gave me one minute lol. Cold enter everybody body for inside that hall that day.

i relate to this completely. and how many times were you told "why you dey hide yourself". Where the thing come scatter my head na as e reach chorus... The 3 of us took it in unison and with the other dude taken Baritone. Damn!

na so I vex...

just try to avoid that useless voice that creeps in when you need to face certain new faces, crowd etc. In fact, do the very opposite of what it tell you to do and gradually, it will die a natural death.
