Good day house,

Please I applied for Master Rural Development Brandon University, only to see my acceptance letter that I was admitted into G.DIP Rural Development degree program.

And from what I am seeing here most Diplomas hardly get Visa approval. Though my undergraduate is in Urban and Regional Planning and I work with rural loan facility monitoring unit of my bank.

Pls I Need advice.

Anyone applied to Brandon University againt September?

Riddeek:
"travel history" is just an accompanying reason, neglect it. (Except you have issues with immigration in other countries)

Focus on tackling purpose of visit. For starters, your brother needs to carefully draft a solid and very convincing SOP to explain why he wants to study that course and why he chose Canada to further his studies, and if possible include future goals.
In his SOP those points you highlighted were well addressed. I am guessing home ties, perhaps he needs a stronger home ties.

Thanks for the response.

Thank you bro, this mean a whole lot to me. I won't quit my job yet, but once i tavel I can't keep it anymore. My wife & baby, plot of land, pension and my job(since I won't be quoting till i cross) can serve as a home tie. What do you think.

penitential:
Don't be discouraged brother. That assertion is a lie. Please go ahead and apply since you're going for a master program. Just present a good application (home ties in Nigeria, purpose of visit, assets, and please don't quit your present job please).

TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by 1soul(m): 10:09am On Oct 17, 2016
Please how true is it that someone above 30 applying for study visa, Msc precisely would most likely get rejected?

I have applied to the school already and will be getting a feedback by february. I am 31, married and expecting a baby january, I work with a bank in Nigeria. I am going for an Msc program. But Since someone told me an agent told her that anyone above 30years of age going via student route will get rejected by CIC I've been feeling discouraged.

Please I need advice guys.

Good day house!

Please I am planning on applying for MSC in a University in Canada but my major concern is that I combined two O'levels to secure my undergraduate admission. My CGPA is good to go, just that i have been wondering if the combined O'level might affect my gaining the Masters admission?

Please I need clarification on this...
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by 1soul(m): 1:32pm On Jul 29, 2016
Good day bro,

Please I sent you a Pm, wanted a second opinion on my younger brother's SOP.

thesoj:
@NonelikeGod is correct. I don't live in Canada, I live in the country next door to it (for a while I called it one of the "Five Eye" countries). Just in case you haven't read my old posts, I ended up on this thread a year ago because I was trying to help my sister get a Canadian TRV (after she got denied) and I ended up staying past my welcome lol. After reading from about Part 4 to Part 8 (at the time) I was able to help her package her next application which got approved swiftly, and this success inspired us to apply for my younger brother (a complex applicant) as well who got his study permit TRV on the first try.

Even though I don't live in Canada I still have opinions about it haha! I have in the recent past briefly visited Ontario, Quebec, and British Columbia. What specific questions do you want me to answer? I will let you know what I can answer and what I can't. I will mention some of the other gurus (living/studying in Canada) on the thread to answer questions about their respective provinces if the answers can't be googled!
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by 1soul(m): 5:34pm On Jul 23, 2016
Nice suggestion..

Ajibade105:
Why don't you request for the softcopy of the admission letter...What if Canada post should strike, weti you go do? Send an email to them explaining to them that you need it to process visa and stating the visa application duration is 14weeks (abi you dey apply from US..LOL) expect your admission is for FALL 2017, you can wait for 2 months for the arrival of your admission letter.

Try and get the softcopy of the admission letter before CIC change their processing time to 16weeks...LOL

**cheers**

Thanks bro...

Please on the second question; what should be his next step while waiting for the acceptance letter?

Mikymiko:
it takes about 8 to 14 days to arrive the nearest post office to your address.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by 1soul(m): 9:42am On Jul 23, 2016
Somebody please assist with this question.

We want to know things we can achieve with the waiting period.

1soul:
Good morning guys, please how long does it take to receive acceptance letter in Nigeria from Brandon University? My younger bro just got accepted yesterday and we got a mail that it has been dispatched.

Secondly, what should be the next step? What and what can he do while we wait for the acceptance letter?

N272.97/$1CAD today using my Diamond credit card via plastiq, paid for my younger bro to Brandon University.

lawmerchant:
Has anybody used Naira credit/debit card to make admission fee or any Canadian dollar payment recently? At what exchange rate did the Nigerian bank covert the payment/transaction?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by 1soul(m): 8:29pm On Jul 06, 2016
I sent $149.
Therefore:* $149 - $15 = $134

lawmerchant:
The recieving bank in Canada will deduct $15 fee for receiving the money. So $134-$15=$119.
Plead with the school to waive the $15 or ask ur friend in Winipeg to help u make the payment.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by 1soul(m): 4:44pm On Jul 06, 2016
Thanks bro

yemdogg:
Since the school has admitted receiving part of the payment.... You can call them to pay the rest using your credit card.

When you call them, they will ask you to give your credit card information after which the remaining balance will be deducted from your account.

Alternatively, you can tell your friend to pay the remaining balance via MONEY ORDER. Ensure that he sends you a scanned copy or a picture of the MONEY ORDER before he sends it to the school. After sending the Money Order, mail the school explaining the purpose of the payment also attaching the scanned copy of the MONEY ORDER to the mail.

Buh contact the admissions office first to confirm if you can pay the balance of the application fees using MONEY ORDER.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by 1soul(m): 4:08pm On Jul 06, 2016
Pls how do I complete the payment via credit card?

yemdogg:
Me self dey wonder.

It is well. I think the next thing to do is to complete the balance.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by 1soul(m): 3:56pm On Jul 06, 2016
I don't know why he opted for that option, thought it was for peeps outside the country.

yemdogg:
His friend in Canada should have just used MONEY ORDER in paying the application fee....it's safer and convenient.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by 1soul(m): 3:54pm On Jul 06, 2016
OK bro, I'm suspecting it might be a mistake from the bank; they might have charged me twice.

Though the lady in their finance office said if they offer him admission without the complete sum, then he must pay the outstanding before anything.

Arcayo:
I thought you wired it from Nigeria,.........that one don pass me
Your friend in Canada is the one that can investigate that, since he paid it he can ask questions from the school/bank
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by 1soul(m): 3:35pm On Jul 06, 2016
Thanks for the response.

But the payment was done by a friend in Canada, in the same province(manitoba) so what is the offshore charge for?

Arcayo:
They normally deduct $25 offshore charges, so you have to balance the remaining before they work on the application.
Since it's not much why don't you ask if you can pay the balance with card

Someone please help...

1soul:
Good day house, please I have a question, I paid application fee through a friend for my younger brother seeking admission in Brandon University. I sent $149CAD. The application fee is $134 while the wire transfer charge is $15.

But we got a mail from the school that they received just $119.

We are kinda confused here. Does it mean the bank charged us twice, cos in the scanned receipts we got from my friend in Winnipeg, one narrates "transaction amount: $134" while the other one has "transaction amount: -$15"

We called the Admission office and they said once they get notification of the total sum, then they will process the Admission.

Please house what could have gone wrong here?
And what do we do here?
