Project Title – CPG-Okija IPP
CPG obtained a generating license from
NERC in September 2012 to develop a
495MW power plant on 31.9Ha of land
owned by CPG. The company hired AF-
Consult Switzerland to be the Owner’s
Engineer for the project. AF-Consult
completed the conceptual design for the
plant in December 2012, and completed the
tender documents for EPC Selection in
March 2013. These documents are available
for interested EPC bidders to download
directly from this website, or from the
company's Lagos or Abuja offices.
The project is being developed in 3 phases.
The first phase, comprising of 495MW, will
become operational in 2015.
Phase 1: Construction of a gas fired
power plant in an Open Cycle Gas
Turbine (OCGT) configuration, with a
power output of approximately
495MW (at ISO conditions) by
September 2015.
Phase 2: Extension of the OCGT to a
combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT)
configuration with a nominal power
capacity of approximately 750MW (at
ISO conditions), through the addition
of HRSG and steam turbines.
Phase 3: Installation of a second
CCGT with additional capacity of
750MW (at ISO conditions) to arrive
at a plant with a total output of
1500MW (at ISO conditions).
The entire 1500MW capacity is scheduled to
be completed by 2018.
Plant Location
The plant site1 is a 31.9 hectares of virgin
land wholly owned by CPG, and is situated
along the Onitsha–Owerri express road,
approximately 25km from the Oguta gas
fields, about 15km from Nnewi (one of
Nigeria’s major industrial and economic
centers), and 25km from Onitsha (another
major economic area).
The Project site is bordered on the East by
the Ulasi River and on the West by the
Onitsha-Owerri express road. It is important
to note that Hammakopp Consortium’s base
(the Nestoil Groups’ civil construction
subsidiary) is located directly opposite CPG-
Okija IPP’s site, on the other side of the
Owerri-Onitsha express road. This makes it
extremely easy for mobilization to the plant
site to perform site preparation and civil
works required for the Project.
Milestones Accomplished
Own 31.9 Ha of land specifically for
the CPG-Okija IPP.
Obtained a generating license for
CPG-Okija IPP.
Cleared by the Federal Ministry of
Environment.
Signed on AfDB as the lead financial
arranger for the project.

Nebeuwa: Not just the South-East, but the former Eastern Region.

Integration is KEY.
Yes o! We will get there by God's grace, that's the more reason why I pray Soludo takes over Anambra.
PoliticsRe: Ethiopian To Become The First International Carrier To Fly To Enugu, Nigeria by 1soul(m): 8:34pm On Aug 03, 2013
A very good news for my evening, now let's hope Porthercourt seaport is given same priority as that of Lagos plus the Akwa Ibom port still under construction, and the one in Calabar.........plus the coming private power station 1500MW in Okija by Nextoil Boss. Bath Nnaji's plant would supply Aba and Umuahia industrial hub.

Regional Integration.....South-East taking off!

Onlytruth: The more the merrier nwanne. Dalu.
This is the time for we educated and knowledgeable Anambra citizens to stand up and mobilize our people towards grabbing our destiny with both hands.
Soludo understands Anambra/SE and Eastern problems very well. He is ambitious and smart enough to create an economic POLE in the East.
With him in Anambra, Ndigbo will soon start returning to the East. He understands how important these things are.
Spot on! You spoke my mind exactly......Ndigbo need someone like Soludo to position Anambra and by extension SE properly, to take up its proper economic place in nigeria. A lot of Igbos are really tired of being chased from one market to the other in other regions, just because they're percieved as economic-refugees! If we put our home in order others would respect us knowing we are not stranded being in their regions doing business.

I'm from Imo but it would be a dream come true to see Soludo take up the mantle of leadership in Anambra, hopefully it would make the other governors sit up. We need a holistic economic integration in SE. We need someone to build a system that would attract the vast wealth sons and daughters of Ndigbo have accumulated all over back home.

Deal with the fact that you personally have no stake whatsoever here in Lagos.
Keep counting our houses and investments........whatever rocks your boat grin

I love how the truth chokes you........must be quite frustrating. I can imagine you gulping that Alomobitter in hand while the ditance between 'what's at stake' and your wild-fantasies frustrates your realities grin

CRIMINALS!!
Good luck to you! I see you're really high and lost in some fantasy horizon. But seriously you're insulting the sensibility of the hardworking and hornest yoruba whom I hold in high esteem, but infortunately you can't be counted as one of them! DREAMER!!!

Abi you think say if Igbos leave Lagos dem go leave their money behind for lazy bones like you? Any where they go their capital goes with them grin Business is not in the land but in the people.....you just wait, once Calabar and Akwa Ibom wharf is done, you'll see!!! grin

THE CRY OF A CONQUARED LAZY SOUL grin
I wish this mindset of trying to reap from another man's sweat would depart from YOU!

Funny enough....even in a disintegrated nigeria you can't deny Igbos their right in Oodua, we're not in the stone age, there're rules and international regulations. Hahah.....bad news for you bro....probably you've been fantasizing on getting rich with some Igbo-abandoned properties! A lot of hardworking and hornest yorubas won't toe thesame path with you!

This is "your" one nigeria, atleast the one you fought to keep united, now why are you crying foul? Abeg allow Ndigbos exercise their rights to live and do business ANYWHERE!

Economic dominance in thesame country you were defeated in war no be beans!
PoliticsRe: Ladipo Traders On Rampage by 1soul(m):
Desola: Yorubas should stop all these talks and start boycotting their markets, abi?

They came to situate their markets in your land because they want your patronage. If you stop patronising them and take your business to your fellow Yoruba traders would they continue to thrive? Afterall, you are their biggest market. The power is in your money and how and where you choose to spend it.

Start patronizing your own and start sensitizing your people!

Shikena!
You're very funny! So you think yoruba patronage is what's keeping Igbos in business? In your posts I see a heart full of bitterness for another man's success, the painful aspect "for you" is there's nothing you can do about it! As long as Lagos is a part of this country called Nigeria, everyone has a right to live and do business wherever s/he wants. No guts no glory! Igbos got the guts!

For your information, Igbos are doing business in different countries of the world and doing exceptionally well too. In Canada we have Jude Ezemezie founder of Globim and 3 other giant corporations, building monorail-speed-trains in both the arab world and advanced countries grin. In the US Chinedu recently sold a product of his intellectual know-how for $1 billion dollars(1/16 of Dangote's worth in just one deal grin).

Lagos is just a negligeable fraction in describing the wealth of Ndigbo. Google and see for yourself.....silent billionaires in different locations who have never been to Lagos before. Are all these as a result of "your" yoruba patronage? cool. You can't stop a man God bless! Nollywood is raking in billions.......Shey na yoruba patronage do am ba?

One advice for you; STOP HATING ON ANOTHER MAN'S SUCCESS! The Igbos are a blessing to this country and by extension to Africa. If the whole Igbos in Lagos are forced to leave, believe me another Lagos would rise from the rubbles....but this time, in a new and favourable location.

FSU: But all this will be worth its salt only if Nigeria remains as one. If we divide, then it is a colossal loss that Igbos may never recover from like they did after Biafra.

Any wealthy Igbo living outside Igboland who does not invest at least 30% of his wealth in Igboland is sitting on sand.
There's urgent need to form an organization whose duty would be to woo the Igbos with serious investment outside the SE to bring back home their investments. I want a one Nigeria where most of the Igbo investments would be sited home while place s like Lagos, Kano, Kaduna, Abuja, etc would all be for warehousing and show rooms! Nollywood can be moved down to Asaba, while our big time movie and music marketers relocate to Onitsha. cool

THINK NDI IBO THINK IS IT POSSIBLE THAT IBOS OWN THIS MUCH IN BENUE OF ALL PLACES. HOW MUCH IS THE TOTAL CUSTOMER DEPOSIT IN BANKS, HABA MY PEOPLE ARE TOO BOASTFUL. HAVING BEEN TO MOST PARTS OF NIGERIA I CAN CONFIDENTLY DISPUTE THESE FIGURES. THERE IS NO WAY THE IGBOS IN ALL NOTHERN STATE ARE UP TO ONE MILLION UNLESS THEY RESIDE IN THE BUSH. ALSO THERE IS NO WAY ALL THERE ASSETS TRADING, BUILDING, MANUFT IS UP TO ONE BILLION DOLLARS. ABSOLUTELY NO WAY.
how much is one billion dollars? Your post reeks of gross-ignorance. So all the Igbos in Kano alone are not worth 160 billion naira? grin angry
PoliticsRe: Ladipo Traders On Rampage by 1soul(m): 4:35pm On Jul 27, 2013
Who are the Niger-deltans? The ones you want their own ejected from Aso-rock because the north needs power back to them! Sometimes the rubbish I read on NL makes me wonder if most of you are from outer space. Do you even know what constitutes the niger-delta? At every slightest provocation you start bragging of how you would eject-out thesame people you all fought to keep and share same nationality with by force, pathetic! I only blame the "gullible" Igbos for investing heavily outside their region. I guess is time to transfer that wealth back to the east, and I know once the Akwa Ibom sea port is ready activities would be transfered gradually and systematicaly. I can't even count number of my friends that recently acquired plots and shops in Uyo and Eket. cool

The good part of all these imbroglio is.......Ndigbo will start thinking home!

You guys should better get used to it......nobody is getting out of naija, we're all in this shit together! I'm not advocating for Igbos to leave Lagos as it's obvious we've conquared the microeconomy of the country already. Going back to our states just because some e-warriors said so is absolute madness. We will stil retain our posts and businesses in whereever we are in this country, but start investing our profits back to Igboland, both in Small and medium scale industries, real eastates, buying shares of SE located firms, commercial developments, etc.

PoliticsRe: Lagos Dumps Beggars, Homeless In Onitsha by 1soul(m):
Abagworo: Igbos feel too comfortable investing outside Igboland and that is one of the reasons their host communities detest them. Other Nigerians are so mindful on how they invest their earnings that you wouldn't even know they own a lot in their hometowns. A typical Yoruba millionaire from Osun based in Port harcourt has one house in Port Harcourt, 1 house in Lagos and 8 houses in Osun while a typical Igbo millionaire in Lagos owns 9 houses in Lagos and one seasonally used duplex in his village.
Ndigbo need to start replicating whatever investments they've made in Lagos in Igboland too, and not just building mansions for rats to dwell all year long in villages. Especially, the industrialists, they should retain their Lagos offices as warehouses and showrooms, and then relocate their factories back home to create more job opportunities to keep these destitutes employed and engaged actively, instead of coming to congest an already overcongested state.

The SE governors really need to wake up, come together and draw up an economic plan that would integrate the whole of Igboland into one large system with sub-systems in the various states. We can't continue like this! We have large firms that can equally function well without necessarily having their head offices located in lagos. Companies like Zynox, Orange drugs, Emzoh, etc. can operate from the east.

Businessmen should be encouraged to develop international markets in the SE like how they built ASPANDA. No doubt Lagos is an economic hub, but branch offices can equally serve, and gradually these developments would trickle down and eventually be transfered back to SE. The problem is that we shy away from long-term economic plans, our people want a kick and start investment, so they seek an already made market to cash on.
PoliticsRe: Lagos Dumps Beggars, Homeless In Onitsha by 1soul(m): 10:39am On Jul 25, 2013
I like it, if that's what it would take ndigbo to start developing their own place. For God sake we've become too comfortable outside our home that some of oir children are begining to lose sight of who they truely are. Here in Kano, you need to see the massive relocation of some companies since the bomb blast at the luxury part. I personally know of four Phamaceutical companies that have relocated back home.
