There is absolutely nothing out of place in one seeking to hold any political office of one's choice in one's country.

I wonder why all the ado.

All races of people converge in Kano, why has Kano not been labeled a no man's land, is there something up in Kano that Ibo is afraid of?

There are tons and tons of Igbos in Kano, have you been to...Sabon gari?
The natives of Kano don't try to rub sh*t in the faces of immigrants, and that's why you don't hear the retort of the city being no man's land...

Get the message? you are your own problems, mister mayor...

if you don't like what the Igbos are doing, look inside... and by telling you Lagos is no man's land, we are helping you introspect the right way and sort out the issues you have against progressive ways.

Then why all the agitation about Igbos wanting this and that in Lagos?

Are we no longer one country.

Lagos is a cosmopolitan multi ethnic city that should have everyone duly represented.

Sorry, Sir; but Lagos is not SW... Google is your friend. Lagos was a separate colony ruled by the British...

I know you don't like to hear it, but when we say Lagos is no man's land, all it means is that there are many tribes that meet in this place... do you agree? if yes, then you agree that Lag. is no man's land, if no, then you need to visit Lagos...das all

Bros, why do you like daydreaming? From wiki: The city of Lagos is the main city of the south-western part of Nigeria. Some rivers, like Badagry Creek, flow parallel to the coast for some distance before exiting through the sand bars to the sea. The two major urban islands of Lagos in Lagos Lagoon are Lagos Island and Victoria Island.... You shudda read it b4 commenting... So, Lagos na Naija Central abi na South Central or whr?

Maybe it is time to start voting only ultra conservative Yoruba candidates in Yorubaland. Akintola was right about ibos.

... and where is Akintola today? didn't he end up six feet below, in his prime?

you wish your leaders the way of Akintola, eh?

by the way, do you knw what the people (Yorubas) did when they heard Akintola had een killed?

They rejoiced!

Imagine if Fashola died today, will Lagosians rejoice?

Exactly, that's because he associated well with Igbos, apologized when they felt he wronged them, gave them positions in his administration etc...

your wishing your leaders were like Akintola.... lol I don't think you wishing them well, how about you yourself getting to government lets see how you will hate and chase Igbos out of Lagos (and see if you wont be the one to leave before them! lol silly boy with delusions of grandeur)

Benin doesn't have yoruba roots.
a yoruba monarch went to Bini to rule the bini people and became the Oba of Bini but that doesn't mean the people there are Yoruba and they don't claim to be either. The Igbo Jaja of Opobo ruled the Ijaw island of Opobo, but that doesn't make the Ijaws on that Island 'originate' from Igbos.

But story sey nobody know where Jaja come from...him don b Ibo now? And na which part of Ijaw land this Opobo dey?

Akintola was spot on regarding his assessment of Ibos. Everything he said about them was right. I now understand why he and Ahmadu Bello were brutally slaughtered by ibos.

and if
MayorofLagos:

In traditional Yoruba customs the kingmakers select an Oba based on the sociopolitical temperament prevailing.

Ive been saying this repeatedly, culturally, Fashola is not a defender of the land. Neither was Oba Oyekan.

Igbos migration into Lagos surged during Oyekan's rule. He did to Lagos what his grandfather, Dosumu, did by allowing foreigners to invade his city uncensored.

In Hausaland no Iboman lives anywhere in the interior of their walled cities, definitely none has a shop abutting the Emir's palace. Ibos came to Lagos and practically took over Idoluwo and Idumota....some eben have shops across the strert from Oba's palace.

I hope and pray next governor will reverse some of Fashola's soft and over zealously liberal policies concerning indigeneship and foreigners.

You are right, we need ultra conservatives. No more Ibo in our state cabinets. The ones there need to be replaced with Yorubas when a new cabinet is selected.

and if this does not happen, you will come on NL and type "Bloody pigimites, go back to congo!"... yeah?

I am happy we are on the same page.

That is exactly what we are talking about integration.

Anyone should be able to hold any post anywhere, and where better to start than the center of excellence Lagos the most multi ethnic state that should be a leader in the process.

An Hausa man should be able to be governor and an Igbo man should be able to be commissioner of works. No ethnic group should dominate that is the beauty of integration.

APC and Igbokwe are not getting out of this one that easy. The request of Ndiigbo are lawful and a fundamental aspect of human rights.

In the Nigeria constitution, it falls under "freedom to association,Freedom of Belief and Religion, Freedom of Opinion and Information, Right of Peaceful Assembly and Association and Right to Participate in Government and in Free Elections.

Igbos have not been given their fair share in the day to day running of their Lagos State. Lagos is a City State created for all Nigerians and sustained by all Nigerians. Y is the government dominanted by a single ethnic group and not reflective of the multi-ethnic character of the state?

This is the problem that was raised by the NCSN and must be address in the next dispensation of Government in Lagos. Lagos is a state and not a region, it is multi-ethnic and not homogeneous or solely yoruba and this multi-ethnic character must be reflected in the governance of the city state, for the sake of equity and all inclusive government.

Need I remind you that Lagos is in the south west and hence is classified as a "yoruba" state, it's due to the free nature of the Yorubas u have so many other tribes in it something u can never find in the east, it's only in the south west u see all the tribes coexisting and cohabiting, once again somethin u can't find in d east, I v lived in d south east and the south west and I can say it anywhere that the ibos should be lucky to even have what dey presently have now in Lagos...by d way I'm not from d south east nor south west
