ebusnwaoma: A security guard who was arraigned before a Lagos State High Court in Igbosere on charges of murder, told the court that bullet from his gun killed a Babcock student but he never fired the gun.
The security guard, Azeez Ibrahim, who was accused of killing a 22-year-old female undergraduate of the Babcock University identified as Adebusayo Ogunkoya at a birthday party in a hotel in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State on July 5, 2014, was allegedly drunk at the time of the incident.
A witness at the scene of the incident said;
“THE PARTY WAS GOING ON FINE UNTIL THE SECURITY MAN, WHO WAS HOLDING A GUN, WHICH HE CLAIMED HE HAD SEIZED FROM SOME ROBBERS, MISHANDLED THE GUN AND FIRED A SHOT, WHICH HIT BUSAYO. THE GUARD WAS SAID TO BE DRUNK.”
However the security guard who defended himself in court, said he did not know how the bullet left the gun and killed the deceased. According to him, the men who came with the victim struggled to take the gun away from him.
“I AM NOT TRAINED IN HANDLING PUMP ACTION GUN BY THE OPC; I WAS TRAINED AS A SECURITY MAN, BUT I DON’T HAVE A CERTIFICATE TO THAT EFFECT.
“THE BOYS, WHO CAME TO THE HOTEL ON THE DAY OF THE INCIDENT, WERE MEMBERS OF THE EIYE CONFRATERNITY. I HAD ONLY WORKED AT THE HOTEL FOR SIX MONTHS WHEN THE INCIDENT HAPPENED, BUT I KNOW THAT THE MEN WERE CULTISTS FROM THEIR BEHAVIOUR.
“I DIDN’T FIRE THE SHOT THAT DAY; IT IS ONLY GOD THAT KNOWS HOW THE BULLET LEFT MY GUN AND KILLED THE DECEASED" HE SAID.
Ibrahim who claimed to be a member of the Odua People’s Congress, maintained that the men were members of the Eiye Confraternity because they had been arrested before. Punch reported that Justice Ogunsanya adjourned the matter till February 6, 2019, for the continuation of trial.

1. Cut yam into rings and peel off the brown skin, cut the yam into smaller sizes and rinse with water to get rid of sand. 2. Bring the yam into a blender and add a little water to help the blender spin appropriately. 3. Pulse the blender for few minutes or until the yam is completely blended and appears smooth and almost runny. 4. Bring the blended yam into a stainless steel pot and place it on medium heat to get heated. 5. Use a wooden spatula to stir the yam paste for 1 minute, you will begin to notice the yam starting to come together. 6. Keep stirring until the yam starts to cook, when this has come together, reduce the heat and scrape the sides and bring the paste to the middle. Sprinkle a little water and steam cook this on low flame for 5 minutes and stir intermittently. 7. Once the yam has cooked, it will look soft and pliable; take it off it and scoop into nylon bags to stay warm until you are ready to serve. 8. Pounded yam is ready, you can serve with egusi soup or any soup of your choice.

HumphreyGspot: A 36 -year old man, Alex Ogbuagu, has been arrested for handling and sucking a 16-year old girl’s breasts and tricking her into sex in Isheri area of Lagos where the suspect resides with the victim’s parents.
It was gathered that Ogbuagu returned early from work and lured the victim into his apartment and confused her with words. He then allegedly fondled and sucked her breasts and she became more confused before he penetrated her in the romp that lasted for several hours.
The victim later regained herself after the act and reported to her parents that she was raped by Ogbuagu.
The matter was reported to the police in the area and Ogbuagu was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the Police Command.
It was gathered that during interrogation, Ogbuagu insisted that he did not rape her claiming that the victim consented to the act.
However, the victim denied her consent and claimed that she was forced into the act after he touched her breasts and got her confused.

The two suspects, 20-year-old Azeez and 24-year-old Omisakin Sunday who were arraigned for attempting to steal, had been convicted for undisclosed crime and served jail terms in the past. The suspects who were arraigned before Magistrate Olusegun Ayilara on three counts of felony, unlawful entry and forceful removal of burglar-proof bars, pleaded guilty to the charges.
It was learnt that they conspired among themselves to commit felony in the house of one Alhaji Rasaq Okunade, on January 17, 2019, around 11.30am at No. 23 Ayegun Street, Iludun, Osogbo. They were however caught before they could execute their plan.
When the judge who adjourned the matter till February 13, 2019, for the presentation of facts, ordered that the accused be remanded in police custody, one of the accused, Azeez, said to the hearing of many people present in court that he regretted his failure to steal before he was arrested, saying he would be punished despite the fact that he failed to accomplish his aim.

Right now, he has lost his left eye,” Uzoka said.
