Uber is trending on twitter. But i just want to ask, What is wrong with being an Uber dirver? Does that make one less of a man? I am a professional, i earn in excess of N300k monthly and i use one of my cars to do Uber on weekends when i'm less busy. Why do people look down on Uber drivers?

A friend of mine in the US that works as a nurse also does Uber as a side hustle. Infact he was the one that encouraged me to signup.

Guys i really want to know.

Ignoring a request mean your acceptance rating will drop which means more waiting time.
High cancellation can make you get blocked from using Uber. In a case of useless pickup location or if your mind doesn't go for a certain request, try your luck by informing the rider that you can't make but should cancel maybe a closer driver can get the request.
Or ignore the rider's calls when you are contacted, this will make the rider get frustrated and cancel the request. Long pickups are not worth it but you can call and ask for the destination to know if it's worth going for the pickup.
In all, try to pick all requests to reduce your waiting time. Avoid high cancellation to prevent being blocked.
Thank you so much!!!

Why do they do that? To pair one with a rider that is outside a surge zone even when you are in the middle of it. How do they do their pairing?

At the bolded, Almost everything you need to know is here, just read, digest, take notes(if it’s ok by you) & follow the instructions. You can as well pick one or two experienced ones here and ask questions. I have three mentors here, two I have met and the other, we only talk on phone, so there are people who are readily available to answer you when you give a call. You also just gave some valid points and advice but a newbie will start from page 1077 and be asking you what positioning is all about and if he/she is not answered, they start saying no one to help .

It takes a lot to read thru 100pages, but there lies answers to 80% of newbies anxiety(s).

As an Uber driver, do you park at a spot while waiting to be connected (linked) to a rider OR you have to keep driving from one place to another?

HealthDoctor Performs Brain Surgery On Wrong Patient by 22Mikey(op): 2:22pm On Mar 02, 2018
A neurosurgeon has been suspended for opening up the head of the wrong patient in one of the worst cases of medical malpractice to become public at Kenyatta National Hospital.

Two men had been wheeled into KNH unconscious last Sunday. One needed head surgery to remove a blood clot in his brain, while the other only required nursing and medication to heal a trauma swelling in his head, medically known as closed head injury.

However, a horror mix-up of identification tags saw the wrong man wheeled into theatre and his skull opened.
Doctors did not realise the mistake until hours into the surgery when they discovered there was no blood clot in the brain of the man sprawled on the operating table.

The hospital’s chief operating officer, Lily Koros, issued a statement announcing the suspension of four medics who were at work on that night.

They included the neurosurgeon, the ward nurse, theatre receiving nurse, and the anaesthetist.

“The management has suspended the admission rights of a neurosurgery registrar and issued him with a show-cause letter for apparently operating on the wrong patient,” Ms. Koros said.

In a miracle of some sort, the Nation was informed that both patients were in good condition and that the one who had a clot might not undergo surgery because he had improved significantly.

Few medical errors are as vivid and terrifying as those that involve patients who have undergone surgery on the wrong body part, undergone the incorrect procedure, or had a procedure intended for another patient.

What do you think they should have done better to avoid this ugly scenario?

CareerRe: Any HSE Professionals In The House? by 22Mikey: 2:50pm On Jan 23, 2018
I have mentioned earlier the importance of getting professional qualifications. I might not understand your meaning of ''Work Well'' but please note the reasons for getting professional trainings/course.

1. To get professionally accepted for practice- Based on existing laws and guidelines
2. To acquire new knowledge/skills- based on what one does not know, needs to know and what the trainer can offer
3. To refresh past knowledge/skills- Based on what one has forgotten or areas one needs to refresh knowledge and skills

So the question you should ask is will these courses give you any of these advantages? If yes, then please go ahead and do them. raining shouldn't be done just because it would help you get a job. Unfortunately training costs money and as such financial needs are there which can be solved by being gainfully employed. However, I have seen employed people then do not even have time to train themselves. Even when they have time, they still don't want to spend the money.

ISO14000/ISO 14001

ISO 14001 is one of the series of standards under the ISO 14000 SERIES. ISO 14000 is a series of environmental management standards developed and published by the International Organization for Standardization ( ISO ) for organizations. The ISO 14000 standards provide a guideline or framework for organizations that need to systematize and improve their environmental management efforts in reducing their environmental footprint and operating in an environmentally sustainable manner.

Here is a list of some of the series under 14000:
-ISO 14001: Environmental Management Systems - Specification with guidance for use.
-ISO 14004: Environmental Management Systems - General guidelines on principles, systems.
-ISO 14010, 14011 and 14012: Guidelines for environmental auditing.
-ISO 14020, 14021, and 14024: Environmental Labels and Declarations.
-ISO 14031 and 14032: Environmental Management - Environmental Performance Evaluation (EPE).
-etc.
-etc.

OHSAS 18001

Please note that OSHAS 18001 was First Published in 1999. It is the first Health and Safety Management System Standard implemented globally. It was revised and re-issued in July 2007 and Later adopted as a British Standard.

NOTE HOWEVER THAT OSHAS 18001 is migrating to the new ISO 45001. So please instead of doing a course titled OHSAS 18001, Look for ISO 45001 and do that. By the initial timeline the migration from OHSAS 18001 to ISO 45001 should have commenced this year. I am currently unaware of the status of this migration.

Please, if you can, find a course on ISO 45001 and do this. It would professionally pay you better.

Good luck.
