Tears flowed freely on Friday as President
Muhammadu Buhari; his wife, Aisha; and the wife
of the Vice-President, Dolapo Osinbajo, met with
two women whose daughters are among the over
200 schoolgirls abducted last year by members of
the Boko Haram sect in Chibok, Borno State.
The emotional-laden encounter took place inside
the Defence House, Abuja, where Buhari currently
operates from.
Mrs. Osinbajo had earlier led the two women to a
meeting with Hajia Buhari, who later led them
into another round of meeting with Buhari.
By the time they emerged from the meeting and
posed for photographs, the two women again
broke down in tears while Mrs. Buhari held them
tightly.
Mrs. Osinbajo also joined in the weeping.
The Vice-President’s wife, with misty eyes, later
told journalists what transpired during the two
separate meetings.
She said, “Hajia Aisha Buhari had for many
months wanted to visit Chibok. She also wanted
to meet with the mothers.
“Today, we had an opportunity for them to meet
face-to-face. We had two of the mothers who
still have their daughters missing after a year.
“Hajia met with them, held them and they cried,
everybody cried. What only a mother will do is to
say ‘wait, I want you to see your father and see
what your father will do.’
“We were all overwhelmed that at this time when
the President is so busy, he had time to meet
with the women from Chibok.
“He spoke to them in English and Hausa. He
explained to them how he keeps telling everybody
to put themselves in their place.
“So, today we have had the opportunity for the
President and Hajia to show that they are our
father and mother, for that we are glad.”
Shortly after the photo session, security men
quickly whisked the weeping mothers away.
It will, however, be recalled that all efforts to
rescue the schoolgirls them abducted over a year
ago have yet to yield any result.

Dura Dullard will spend millions of dollars training his policemen and military personnel to provide protection for him. DSS are constitutionally mandated to provide security for the Presidency.
please can you quote the section in the Constitution that mandated the DSS to provide security for the president. Please can you explain why the DSS decided to abandon it's constitutional mandate and become unofficial spokesman of GEJ government.

If he wants to use the police that can easily be bought or the army that can be use to stage a coup, then that's his business. Wasn't it the army that said they were not in possession of his certificate?

If there's one branch of the security services that's extremely hard to corrupt thanks to scrutiny they pass through, it is the DSS. So your claim of them being corrupted doesn't hold at all. Do note that they are constitutionally tasked with the responsibility of protecting principals, but if the president feels that the Army and Police can do a better job in protecting him than our Isreali - trained DSS, which I SERIOUSLY DOUBT, that's his cup of tea.

EXACTLY. I've seen all three service in action. Frankly, I can NEVER rely on police, the Army's well disciplined but they lack training in close protection. With respect to the DSS though, close protection/bodyguard services is their forte and they do it far better than any other service.

That DSS was the Military wing of PDP.

Christian Association of Nigeria under Oritsejafor was the Religious arm of the PDP.

All this era has past, this is a new dispensation.. Old things are past away and all things are become new.. Deal with it.

SE/SS are bloody minorities and Buhari doesn't need your votes, and who tells you he would contest 2019?

Buhari would not contest, his good works would make nigerians want him for a second term but I suspect he'l do what his brother "Nelson Mandela" did..

He'l do just 1, but that 1 would be worth more than what 5 other presidents have done..

Already we are beginning to see it.

Most people have no idea that protection of government officials is an intelligence affair and not a military function other wise in the US for instance the protection of the president ,his vice and other high ranking officials would fall to the Special Forces in the various branches of the military.
The state security service function :protection of the Commander in chief and Head of state as well as other ranking officials down the line, is guaranteed by law it would be a violation of the law for the president to usurp the function of the Service on his whimsical reasoning.
Watching to see how this goes but this tells the story of how his presidency will be shaped.
If this speculation proves to be founded, it simply proves that this president has imperial ambitions/pretensions and is not the least bit interested concerned about building institutions that will serve the country regardless of who is the C I C .Former President Jonathan held on to that principle all through his tenure.

All in all if this tale is substantiated ,an epic fail for buhari.

The DSS has been there for far too long with so many former leaders, so he cannot reasonably trust that those leaders aren't going to call in favors from their former appointees.
In any case he is spot on about using regular police and military for presidential guard duties. That way if anything happens we know who is responsible. Secret police tend to be less accountable.

Now Marilyn Ogar cannot comment again but before now she has want to say on every issues of politics. The fear of Buhari is the beginning of wisdom. When she was running her mouth like leaked pipe, she has want to say. Well, to encourage her, Buhari has moved on and doesn't think of her any more.
