He said hotel and not hotel room, there are lots of places to hang out in a hotel. Maybe he has always had her in mind & he wanted to get closer to her to strengthen the friendship before he travels. She aught to try get more details from him before concluding or better still go but be very careful (avoid too much enclose/private area when with him).
