you don't need to go all the way to coasta rica to learn spanish. Coasta rica is a cool place (been there once on vacation about 10yrs ago)I actually went there with my Nigerian green pali. I actually had a green card in the U.S which is why the visa was easy to get and i showed proof of the hotel we had booked.
When them see that green pali they pulled me aside to pat me down while we were leaving from NY and while we were leaving coasta rica

i can honestly say that was one of the best vacations i ever took. that place was hot as heck because they have dormant volcanoes and rain forests. the food was amazing and the people were really nice. we mostly stayed at the resort we booked and went on a few excursions.

i have been on a cruise once for 9 days from New York to eastern Caribbean. I totally get the need to get off the boat when you get to your first port city because it took us 2 days to go from NY to puerto Rico. from there we went to st. thomas, st. john, british virgin island and st, Marteen.

talk about missing land.

we had a really good time but cruising is expensive. The initial cost to get on the boat is cheap but when you get on, thats when they get you. you have to pay for water, spa, to even play bingo you have to pay. alcohol you had to pay for. They also searched your bags before you got on the ship to make sure you didn't bring any alcohol with you. All in all you eat until you get tired you go to shows until you are tired you spend money at the casino until you go broke and if you make the mistake of just buying things and putting it on your room, the day before you go back home is when you have to settle that bill which would be shocking (lucky for us half of my final room charges were paid with my casino winnings)

I don't think we would cruise again because i personally enjoy the all inclusive resorts and by the way we cruised with Norwegian.
