gospelpen: Out there in the streets, it is said that if EFCC has never arrested nor invited you for questioning, then nobody knows you have money yet. Unless you are above 50 years. Unfortunately, the agency expects you to suffer till you are 50 years before you blow.
If you are below that age, you will have to explain and explain, till you get tired of the money as well. Old frustrated people always have a way of meting out their frustrations on the young and rich. Know this and know peace ✌️
If you are reading this now, the best thing to do for yourself is to join the majority of Nigerian students studying and working abroad through undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships. Checkout S C H O L A R S V I B E. COM to see some of available opportunities for this 2022.
So you think EFCC just picks anyone that has money and is below 50? That's a ridiculous allegation.
Once they suspect you, they start investigating you secretly. When they find out that you possess wealth from a not so clean source, they invite you for questioning. If you can prove it's source, you'll be freed.
slimanyd: You should go to lagos and tell Sanwo olu to first of all go and arrest MC oluomo first b4 talking about Auxiliary . No be only una get craze for head. Nah craze them dey use cure craze.
We are talking about Auxiliary not mc oluomo. No change topic!
TheOldGods: if you are extorted then you were never clean from the beginning. For you to be scared of police shows your source of income is questionable. I'm 25, I have a Benz and a Lexus. Police has never extorted me, infact my name is in the papers of the cars both original duties. The only thing it just makes police always stop you, and ask you for something. That's it
Maybe It doesn't happen in your state.
Don't tell me you don't know police extort innocent people. That means you don't stay in Nigeria.
OgunkeelAllMod: my brother ,your level of reasoning is TOP notch!na your IQ level I like being friend with .. imagine the sort of question a whole undergrad is asking ..!!if it was a job interview and he gave this kinda submission, I'd reject him without even thinking about it!only black African , especially nigerians, with their cockeyed ways of doing & looking at things! Necessity, they say,is the mother of INVENTION! Car was invented for the sole reason of SAVING TIME!, follow by convenience, and comfort and lastly, for luxury (which isn't that important) I no fit type abeg. graduate my arss ,no brainier lot.
You're doing too much.
I kept an open mind when asking.Because no man is an island...
Heathrow44: don't get a car, for the fact you.re.asking us for advise means u really don't need it,.cos if u did u wouldn't bother letting us know, at ur age and moving abroad, u need to save money cos I heard 1L of cooking gas in UK is €5 thats above N2,500\L here, not to talk of petrol for a vehicle, look into the future u would need it then, save for the rainy day
Money making abroad ain't as hard as in Nigeria.. If I can be comfortable over here,I will be comfortable over there.
Originalsly: There are several.factors to consider if it is worth buying a car..... factors that we do not know.... that only you know. Should a lady going somewhere ask what she should wear.... can you advise her without knowing the occasion? Buy a gown... just above the ankles... only to find out later she was going to a pool party. Same thing. How far do you live from school?... is it that difficult to in getting transportation to and from?... do you over around a lot that require you to be using taxi/bus? .... do you be hauling loads often? .... do you have to be dropping off and picking up siblings?... or will having a car make it easier for them to get to school and wherever?.... is your neighbourhood a safe one?... are they often be stealing cars?... or parts? ... do Police be setting up extortion points? .... would you be using the car for private use only?.... or intend to use it as a taxi? ..... what about the condition of roads in your area?... are you in Aba? .....these are some of the factors that need to be considered and we know none of these. Why would you then expect us to advise you?
Lol Okay I don't need a car within my school premises as I live inside school.
I need it mainly during school breaks to move back home(interstate),attend occasions,visiting,travel....just mobility basically.I'm tired of public transport.
The rest of the questions are overwhelming to answer
TheOldGods: you're not bouyant enough. You enter bus, and then you want to buy a car. Before I bought my first car, I paid a personal Keke driver 35k every month for 4 months, do you know the last time I entered bus. That's was when I knew I needed a car, because I can afford to fuel my tanks with 10 k three good times in a month. and save myself the remaining 5k and collect AC and comfort. If you don't have upto 5milluon in your account or you job gives you not less than 500k a month, then you don't need a car.
I will only advice you to get those camrybig yansh or buy corolla. You can't maintain luxury now
I'm very frugal with spending.Since I am single with no family burden,I ensure I save over half of my income (my parents handle school fees). This is why I still enter bus inter-state and Uber intra-state.
I think I'll stick to my Uber ordering. When I travel out,I can get a car. Thanks for your input.
jideq: If your moni don finish you no go talk....which one be say "car na luxury".
300L student? Get a toks corolla with no added frills or pimping. Budget 20k monthly for fuel costs depending on how far your daily commute is. Budget 200k/year for the first 2 years for repairs (be sure to do comprehensive insurance as well). Be disciplined with the car. No excesses, at times leave the car back home for really unnecessary trips. Register with Uber, Bolt etc. (Half a weekend's work can get you a weeks worth of fuel to use if you know what I mean). Make sure your papers are always up to date. Don't ever "borrow" friends the car for whatever reason.
It isn't a luxury unless you treat it as such. Being disciplined with using the car will definitely improve your quality of life and the opportunities within your reach in the long run. I can get into my car at 5:30 am in Lagos, be in Ibadan by 8:00 am and back in Lagos by 12:30 pm having achieved my aim in relative comfort without my neighbors having inkling as to what has transpired.
Rinoxy: The police part is what I want to respond to; my bro, as long as you're responsible in your appearance, no unnecessary youthful behaviour, and you carry yourself with decorum, then you've gat no problems. One even asked what I do for a living, and I told him I'm a civil servant which I am. Funny enough, I enjoy meeting policemen on the way. I greet them respectfully, hail them at times, then move. I know a lot of them now. Be sincere, be free.
Thanks.
It just seems like every young man who owns a car is a fraudster to them.
Medianna: Too much unnecessary info So you have to tell us you're in a private uni Your level(why not add the course of study name of school) Leaving the country And also the prize of the car(why not add the model and name)
You should equally add age so will be ascertain if police will harrass you or not.
How will I get effective answers if I don't give details? Would you suggest I ask a rather vague question like "Is buying a car worth it?" Tell me how I should have asked.
Nigeria's hardship is really making people bitter.Out of all your envy and jealousy, you still didn't give me advice that I seek.
golor: Look at this guy !!! Car in today's Nigeria looks like investment...it appreciate value weda u use the car or not ..if I de lie ask people way buy foreign used car 3 years ago and ask how much is the second hand value of today or foreign value...when u wan sell u fit sell same amount or more self ...I am speaking from experience
Articul8: Sounds funny. Is this relegating NSCDC and NPF? Most of these Amotekun guys sre illiterates. I don't know how much of training they receive to use these equipments. Let them not just be driving around and be picking people indiscriminately.
I will love that they invest more in training the Amotekun officers and let their operations be top notch so people can trust them and criminals fear them enough.
Who told you they are not well trained?
You can't drive in the mid night in Ibadan without them stoping you.
samuelevans: lol, i can't just stop laughing, Nigerian and their shows, you mean you don't have friends or family to advice you on this, unless #land??
You don't happen to know a chronic introvert? Airtime of #200 lasts me for 2 weeks. This is to tell you how infrequent i do talk to people.
Originalsly: I think you should not buy a car. Maybe in two years time when you are mature enough. Needing help to know if you need a car shows you are not matured enough to be a car owner.
If I have no intention to leave the country yet, I'll buy it straight away.
All I'm asking is "is buying a car for just a 3 year duration worth it?". In 2 years time like you said, I'll only have 1 year more in Nigeria and it won't be worth it.
