angelusbrut: Redmi 7 please,u know they send OTP password before the password change. It keep saying incorrect OTP How will you change a password that you've not set before? You said earlier it's giving you "invalid password" while you were setting it up for the first time. Did you get it brand new or you bought it fairly used? |

shosky1794: Maybe you should give me a lesson on sound quality then. I'm sure you know too that the quality of sound from any device depends on many factors. You can expect to get a great sound quality from a #200 earphone. Mind you I've used viper on an MTK device before Ok, you win. Today is Friday and I no too get strength |

Gptech: I don't use viper though. If they block anything on miui 11, a way out will aje surface. As for the sound not being as punchy, it might not be true, you have changed. I thought an earpiece I used some years back sounded better than the rock zircon until I laid hands on a pair I bought for someone some years back. It's no match for the rock. You've a point. Though I used original LG and Samsung ear buds then, am sure my KZ will mop the floor with them. The audio settings can be overwhelming nowadays, so steady tweaking until you hit the sweet spot |

shosky1794: I don't think so bro. They actually sound better on SD to me. Right now I just combine viper(legacy) and Dolby and the sound is something else. Volume on my earphone is now permanently set to level 1 because of the loudness Seems you're confusing sound quality for volume level. Before we get into an aimless back & forth, have you actually tried the V4A mod on an old MKT before? |

Gptech: Same here, how to live without Dolby now na issue oooo, even the Oneplus 7 pro with its good sound output plus follow come up Dolby Atmos nr fit keep up with my note 4x. So I've been rocking V4A for the last couple of days now. Can't help but notice the sound is not as punchy as those days, I think they sounded better on my old MTK. Hope the much awaited MIUI 11 will not block the road used by these devs? |

If you force that on an LCD screen such as that on the Note 7 you may damage it in addition to battery drain. Get the Mi A3 if you want AMOLED on a budget |

Mckandre: Just imagine xiaomi going for the punch hole display on the K30. mehn, With this type of iteration getting the k20 with popup camera will create doubts on the durability/efficiency of that technology. Should this be an upgrade or downgrade With people bad mouthing the pop up camera mechanism even when it has not failed, it's only fair they explore other options. |

Maxcoded: So today, I kinda found out that 80% of Aliexpress Customer Service are AI bots. Even after clicking on "Chat With A Live Agent", you are still being sent a BOT; a pretty Inteligent one this time. I got all that long reply in the first screenshot few seconds after I said "Ok thanks"; what kinda human types that fast? That's a human actually, most likely used templates to send those responses in quick session. If you notice even the humans you call via phone answer your queries with prearranged template responses. That's why they sometimes sound so dumb, only a few use their initiative |

exlinklodge: OMG
Sorryyyyyyyy
One have to be careful this days. One of my student (jambites that I teach) was passing on my desk and said Sir, keep your ATM safe. This was cuz I dropped it on my desk.
So I said to him, even if someone take it, it will be useless cuz he or she doesn't know the pin. He laughed and said to me:
Sir, boys don't need your pin. If they get a hold of your ATM number, they can do damage to your bank account.
I was indeed amazed.
Can this be true? Very true. Not all e-commerce channels or online transactions require PIN or OTP for that matter. |

durubennie, sorry but don't lose heart.
Judging from the phase "web pur" on the alert the perpetuator of the theft did some sort of web purchase so it's not necessarily a cash withdrawal. Such transactions are possible on some e-commerce sites if the person just has the numbers written on the front and back of your ATM card.
Some banks don't activate the security that guards against this type of online transaction unless upon request by the card holder.
You should be weary of the people that have access to your personal effects. Someone close to you is trying to play smart. |

jboixxx: Why abusing the seller? Did you check the processing/shipping timeframe declared by the seller? Or maybe the ish is with the courier that hasn't pickup the package yet. If the seller wan wicked you, he'll just cancel your order midway, then you'll have to start afresh (with another store).
All of you waiting Black Friday deals, I'm sorry o. Just don't come here de complain of slow processing of orders and to burst your bubble, not all what you will see as discounts are real. Some stores will increase their prices but still tag it discounts while some will just give few cents as discounts. Only a few really give worthy discounts. #BeGuided Black Friday is the biggest modern day scam perpetuated in trade and commerce in recent times, with false advertising done brazenly while the regulatory bodies just seat and watch. |
Phones › Re: Why Is Xiaomi More Popular Than Huawei And Samsung On Nairaland? by 2kurupt(m): 4:47pm On Oct 12, 2019 |
greenhulk: Galaxy note series is basically Galaxy S10+ with an s pen. It maintains the general design of a normal phone which most people are comfortable with. The same cannot be said about the rog phone and black shark especially when it is coming from an OEM that is not that popular. U should understand the average consumers don't like to take risks when paying so much money for a phone, most people just play safe. Trust me people would rather buy Samsung Galaxy note for $1,000 than Asus rog phone 2 for $900. The phone that is not normal that Samsung released is the Galaxy fold and I don't expect it's sales to be massive. At least not yet. You still don't get my point. I made mention of phones like the Black Shark & Mi Mix to emphasis that they too can go that far in specs and features despite that not being their main focus. Some other commenters here think Xiaomi is all about just the Redmi Note 7 or budget phones. greenhulk: If u have been following my posts u would know I have always told people not to buy Samsung mid range phones as they are not worth it. This is even before xiaomi and other brands became popular in Nigeria. It is only of recent that Samsung stepped up their mid range game with the Galaxy a series and that was due to firm competition from other oems. Well, I couldn't agree less. My last Samsung was the original Galaxy Ace, after that I always felt they were holding back against the non-flagship segments, and I am all for functionality over aesthetics. With the current trend of better specs trickling to cheaper phones, it can only be a win-win situation for the consumers |
Phones › Re: Why Is Xiaomi More Popular Than Huawei And Samsung On Nairaland? by 2kurupt(m): 2:46pm On Oct 12, 2019 |
Prior to lesser known brands like Xiaomi, Huawei, One Plus, Realme, Lenovo, Oppo etc having a stronghold on the mid range market globally, Samsung was milking users in the midrange category, especially in Nigeria and we didn't see y'all criticizing Samsung.
The irony of it is most so called big boys were only flaunting foreign used Apple and Samsung phones. These 2 tech giants only see the Nigerian high-end smartphone market as too small.
Now competition is forcing them to change strategy and y'all whining instead of rejoicing.
Nigerians truly dunno what they want |
