I haven't used miui Rom truly but I can categorically tell you any ANDROID operating system that comes Pre rooted is not a good one.. Am surprised you are disputing this and that why I said you may not understand if you aren't tech savy.

Rooting comes with a lot of huge dangers and is not advisable by virtually all Android phones manufacturers in the world, that is why before you root your phone there ought to be several stages to undergo (except these Mtk devices which a one click app will help),.. This stages of rooting would at least give an assurance to the manufacturer that those rooting their phones are at leat a bit tech savy and therefore know the consequences.

Why do you think you have to unlock developer mode on your phone, why do you think certain things luke USB debugging have to be enabled and giving express permission before its use, why fo you think the ADB method of rooting will require your acceptance before you can move ahead.? These are controls to ensure rooting "is not so easy" because of the consequences involved.

Having a prerooted device and selling it to someone who isn't tech savy to know what rooting is, is very dangerous and thus I said it isn't a good android phone. Not when we had the stagefright fear just recently that could ruin the whole reputation of Android immensely.

Please if what I have written up isn't clear, you can Google the dangers of using an android operating system (it is open source, so expect this) and then read widely on the dangers of even going further to root an android phone.. This should clear things for you a bit.

But as i said before, if you aren't tech savy at all, you may still not understand this. Merry Christmas.

What exactly is the challenge you're facing in using up your data plan? Is it that you don't have 3g signals in your area or what?

If you had been specific with ur issues, I bet you can get a solution on this thread. Most customer care agents are naive on tech issues, all they know is how to subscribe to one useless service or the other on their network.

We can't all use the same phone, from the same brand, with the same features. This is not a socialist society, that's why we got varieties.

Just got this text message a few minutes ago and thought I should share for precautionary measure to all in here (attached are pictures taken of my small phone with my official line)

I think it's a scam due to the following reasons:
1. Interswitch has no direct business with card holders & thus can't be sending messages of such nature directly to retail banking customers
2. A finance oriented firm can't be using a gsm number as official customer care line.
3. The purported customer care line is obviously a new line, firms don't change official lines that easy especially on a sensitive nature such as this.
4. Finally an official issue such as this can't be carried out on a Saturday, 17:46 to be precise.

Please be guided.

You definitely can't compare Tecno to Xiaomi despite the latter just making an entry. Xiaomi has made huge mark in massive markets like China & India within a very short time, am sure they subdued more robust competition there thus running over Tecno in Nigeria and indeed Africa should be a piece of cake.
