There was a time my lg g3 died after 11 months of use. What did I do? I took it to LG care center and they replaced the moderboard for free and I got my phone back within 24 hours.

@OP check Aliexpress and other China online tech sites for sellers of the Mi4 screen then order for it, qualified phone repairers should be able to fix it for you.

What I do know is that ntel is damn slow in rolling out, with a shitty website too.
