Does Age Matters In Conception? I used to wonder back then as a single about the ideal age to settle down. Unknown to me, my wife is somewhere waiting for me, and we were born in the same year as it happened to be: lesson, you don't have the choice you think you have when it comes to whom you'll marry, by choosing someone, you let go of other alternatives that could have well be the wife material, irrespective of the age or shade. So start early, and funny enough, some really young ladies to marry does not translate to fertility in most cases. When I met my wife, we were both few years from age forty. But three months into the show, she's got it. I am the king of tinctures myself, so she called me "babalawo la fe" by virtue of the tinctures, grains and herbal teas she has to take. Meanwhile, they are simple, live foods, herbs and spices. But being preggy is not a testimony enough my sister, "save delivery" is the "koko". So you can understand my sorrow at losing my first born at birth, and my sorrow for anyone near that experience. To worsen the fear was the fact that my wife did had fibroid. We have informed “few chances of having children” by the look of things (age/menopause/fibroid) according to the birth attendant that I met when I was searching for answers. How About Fibroid? My family doctor did encouraged that we have an operation for the fibroid, but I'm very skeptical about this, because to say "go for operation" is not not a perfect guarantee that the fibroid will not grow back or that it will solve the infertility problem if not complicate it. But by divine help, we did not do anything those in the know advice us, cacilage or fibroid operation, but we used common herbs and some few tricks that every woman must know. Our lifestyle defines us Dear sister, if you love confectioneries, this is the time to go on sabbatical on them: they won’t do you any good if you love to take them as often as you can, and they won’t hurt you if you hardly take them. My wife sells cold minerals in her fashion shop, drinking it regularly was easy, eating junk foods like noddles and spaghetti was her style, but when we met, her diet changed for good. Your confectionery as for now needed to be hot spices and smoothies, some tinctures to help the body revert to its natural state. Please leave the chocolate drinks and sweet beverages for the time being, drink more juices, smoothies and hot spices and black tea before shower every evening before bedtime. It’s time to start preparing the body for the next conception, and not fertility hiatus. |
Nostradamus:That's perfect word for it, but just too good to be true. The reason is that sura seems to be a loan word from arabic suratul-, (quranic chapters), akori kurani alaponle, as a Yoruba Muslim would likely put it. If so, akori is Yoruba for Arabic sura, but akori is also a shorter way of saying "irinisi ni isonilojo": because akori comes from the phrase "contact-seen" or put more aptly, "seen on contact" or "first impression" in English colloquial, where ak is first and ori headline. The word for contact is ako, it is also the word for first, or ako-si-ori, ako-ori, the opening theme, the headline, the topic or the rider. The usage example is, "akori oro mi ni pe, gbogbo un ti abanse kafi suuru si." Sura in that usage is similar to karamasiki, both are not Yoruba lexicon. Karamasiki is a Yoruba stretch of "charismatic" but you won't know based on the way they use it: "ko kin karamasiki nkan", meaning "he has lackadaisical attitude to things". Just as you wont say karamasiki is Yoruba for prudence (which is more like borrowing a "borrowed English word" from Yoruba lexicon to interpret an English word at the expense of a suitable Yoruba word, e.g. gba-jumo, s[ala]akoso, saajo nkan), same goes for sura. My take is, using "sura" is silencing (one of) the Yoruba's best option for aura, which is "akori". I can say for instance "akori e bi ti'kemu elemu" her aura exhumes the imagery of the gourde of a palm wine tapper." |
irinisi ni isonilojo: irinisi, iriunsi, outlook, appearance, imagery. isonilojo: isounlojo: description, aura, likeliness. Iri ni si ni iso ni l'ojo (literally, the way one is seen conveys the name [of what] one looks like). Soro: (healthy envy) ji soro, to be charmed by the aura of another fellow. There is no perfect word for what the word aura connotes in Yoruba, as you have in light/imole, word for word, but ideas like the word "aura" exists in "proximity" to the sense of the word in question, such as you have here: "mo ji soro e" means, "I adore your aura", "I'm awaken by your persona", "I stole [a glance? at] your elegance". |

gatiano:That's awesome bro, we are to rewrite our history and let go of the crazy stereotypes. May God enlighten our soul the more. |
OlaoChi:I saw you followed me on this moniker when I logged in. May I know why? ![]() |

OlaoChi:You are 'the wisest fool' then. Ida ni yoo perare leru. Keep being a fool, I am heavily loaded with fine details. |
OlaoChi:Can you tell me the meaning of 'believe-theory' in your research methodology? How do you employ its principles to make historical findings? It does not have any intellectual bearing nor does it make grammatical sense. That's why I called you a fool. Most of all because all you do is whining and query to make consistent wimpy posts. I've demonstrated to you how to advance a scientific approach to a subject, you came back to ask me about metaphysical. Learn from those more intelligent than you, stop being clever. and so far, what have you found to prove you are not a fool? You can stoop whatever you like, wisdom is greater than cleverness. what is this man saying? who talked about charles darwin here? what brought about evolution? if you have qualms with biology that is your problem. You obviously cannot tell that there is a difference between Biology and History. you called me a fool, i do not need to stoop to your low level by trading insults with someone who is ignorant and emotional about being TAUGHT a new thing. instead of mentioning metaphysic you should have come straight to do your sly attacks like a manI've answered you. All that a fool does is allegation after allegation to discourage the curiousity of a brilliant hand. You will always cry foul, you will never reveal any truth. Complaints is your historical resources. |
IranjeIdita:I shook my head reading this. |
absoluteSuccess:Hello iranjedita, This your response below expose you as imaginary historian who create answers as deem fit, the Oduduwa you gave back to me are the same number and identical to places I've recently mentioned in my post. There is no Oduduwa in Awori, Keteu, Ado Odo. Why not your own studied examples to advance your claims? How come its a title? IranjeditaThis indeed is an evidence that you can create as many Oduduwa as possible for political correctness! So Oduduwa is a title because you see the name as a title, no more no less. What a conclusion. But its forbidden for others to see Oduduwa otherwise because they don't follow your prescribed scientific research methodology. IranjeIdita:You are proud of Yoruba history but fail to tell the story from the scientific method at your disposal. How is this cock and bull story a history? |
MetaPhysical:The building brick of scientific conclusion starts from observation. The law of gravity was always there from creation, however, when Isaac Newton observe a fallen apple fruit by his side, he discovered the law of gravity via the incidence. People hemmed into status quo detest you questioning their worldview. The man Newton wandered in a way a self conceited person or an 'unscientific person' may see as stupid question, he said 'why don't the apple fly to the sky in opposite direction?' A scientific fact is borne from observation, hypothesis, theory and then if unchallenged it becomes a law. A fool was 'teaching' me to opt for 'believe theory', who does not have a fixed idea about the simplest subject of his curiosity since forever that he has been lobbying his accolades for data. Can someone whose idea fail at conceptualizing a basic grammatic expression have any clue to the cryptic meaning of a Yoruba word? IranjediteIf I may ask, does 'general agreement' translate to scientific fact? Those saying civilisation started from Africa doesn't generally patronize Ife, they are either thinking Egypt or Kenya or bush men or East Africa for its rich fauna species. How did these tool of researching instructive of your findings here and now? . Since you are attached to biological precept coming from Charles Darwin's 'on the origin of species', am I to believe ife is the home of the great ape from where Jew, Canaanites and Egyptians come out? So the story Charles Darwin popularise is taken from Yorubaland? Or can you attach significance to general agreement and deprive me of such? So if I don't believe in evolution, it means I'm not intelligent? Then if your answer is yes, it simply means something. Wait, what is the 'home story' where this conclusion emanated from? Why is it wrong to have my own idea of what is 'generally agreed' other than your 'accepted' version that springs from Darwinism? What's similarity in Yoruba and Darwimism? I'm not suppose to have an idea. You only use the rule of researching to grip the opponent, you fly into speculations and baseless assumptions to spin the detail. You people lack ideas, same old story. |
bigfrancis21:I've been up and about my brother. I've not been seeing you either. I want to believe responsibilities and maturity is catching up on all of us...this section is not buzzing as it used to be. How are you faring Gods own country? How's study? |

Now to the second line of instruction given by orunmila to the ancient Yoruba, and I quote: 'kamafi warawara jakun ida' meaning, 'we must not be too eager to unshealth the sword'. This particular line of instruction shows that the audience of Orunmila at the material time were the elite guards overseeing the affairs of a people on the move. The precept being reviewed derived from 'owonrinsogbe' a path in ifa where odu owonrin meji mix with odu eji-ogbe, an omo odu. Lagos, to Dahomians is called Ahonrin till date, from Yoruba 'awonrin' meaning 'the emigrants'. Owonrin is the cryptic form by which the term survived in ifa oracular dicta. I also i'm from 'owun olowunrin', handlers or keepers of the tradition of the emigrants. Irin is Yoruba for journey, and Lagos was a natural harbour of the ancient Yoruba mariners. This seafaring business gave us the term 'ijebu', the marine vouyage. |
And so we come to the words of the fathers as engraven in oracular dicta from time. The words of Orunmila is the words of wisdom. His name is often paraphrased as 'orun meni ola', meaning 'heaven knows who will succeed'. The Yoruba had always look up to heaven, in time of trouble, and the saying attached to this act with arms spread is 'Olodumare, nibo loju e wa?' That is 'seeking the face of God'. Orunmila is as his name implies, a messanger of God of heavens, the most high. So he was quoted to have given us a message: 'kamafi kanjukanju lole aye', meaning, we should not lead an anxious dominated life. Some of us familiar with the word of Paul to Philippians, you will see the word of God echoed through, which implores the believer to be anxious for nothing. Phil.4:6-8. |
Aiku (as given by the Yoruba) is not the same as 'immortality of the soul' which is prevalent in universal religion. Aiku is to 'rise from death', or come back to life materially, not decaying physically to enter a 'new underworld in soul' with the dead. Like Crowther, Revd. Samuel Johnson may have well observed Yoruba believe in harmony with ancient christians to conclude that ancient Yoruba were coptic christians. 'The last day' is the same as 'ojo atisun' in Yoruba, as it is said 'ojo atisun l'ebo' or 'osika ranti ojo atisun re o', (wicked one, remeber your last day). It is the day of recorning. Ojo atisun l'ebo means 'our piety is all for the last day'. The ancestors know about the doctrine of 'the last day' of the Abrahamic creed quite well: kamafi kanjukanju lo le aye, kamafi warawara jakun ida. Oun taa fi s'agba, kamafi sebinu, Orunmila ni baaba debi to tutu, ka sinmisinmi. Kawo waju ejo titi titi, ka weyin oro sun~un, nitori ojo atisun eni. Aye to to, mojuba. |
ussy09:Perfect. Someone open up to me about her past abortion: after which she met 'pregnant- before-marriage' dude and she couldnt conceive for two years, then met someone else two years after and discovered shes pregnant after two months. OP, Let the man go, or you stay fertile but barren with him for the rest of time. As a man thinketh, so he is. The next man will get you pregnant except if its visa baby (destiny child) you are looking for. |

Countless wisdom and creeds of the founding fathers yet exist in their pristine form, begging to be explored. But as the case has often been, the Yoruba remains more intellectually complacent to explore the wisdom of her fathers. Who shall dig deep to unravel mystery tucked within the rubbles of time? What is equally the use of wisdom mined in antiquity to the complacent? Thus the feeling that even if Zoroaster or Confusius or any of the antique psychic had transverse this clime, they might well be forgotten now. Why is indepth quests short in supply? Yoruba ronu. |

Few days ago, someone shared with me how a woman who is believing God for the fruit of the womb for years was able to conceive after taking marada herbal remedy for just two months. I'm happy for that family. May their joy be full in no time. I can testify too that my daily intake of marada was not in vain. In spite of what the doctor sees as massive myoma coexisting with gestational sack, her baby is unstoppable. Thank God for such a good product. |
It must be a great fashion snake. |
