Does anyone know how much Access Bank savings account charge for their exchange rate should one use it to receive domain sales? I see GTB has a good rate of 356 when money hits your savings account... can you confirm Access Bank please? Zenith bank is out of it for me now cos they screwed a friend who used them last time. |

Sakaslim:The way I do mine is that if I am receiving $100-200 I use exchanger because the difference between them and wire transfer would be very minimal for that amount but if I am going to receive $500 and above, I use wire transfer 1 Like |

Sandycee:There are world clocks online to guide you. Just Google the City and do the math in correlation to Nigeria time. When I was very active in outbound, I usually set my send out emails between 8am-12pm Nigerian time. Reason? So that my emails will be among the first set to be read when they resume duty, giving the time difference. For most part, we are 5 hours ahead of most US states and while some are 9 hours. So give or take, it is 5-9 hours difference. For those of you complaining about not getting sales. The sad truth is that domaining is more capital intensive than they ever were in the past. Lots of names that were allowed to drop previously are currently being back ordered and that goes for even your geo. This means while waiting for a geo domain to land on your lap, someone has back ordered it. There were times I did over $2000 just by outbound but it will hard to replicate such in current dispensation. And I achieve that by regging a few, however you will need to register a lot of names to come close to that figure now, except you are lucky. The probability becomes a game of numbers, generally that is what domaining is though. Then you have issue to fast internet users from more advanced countries who will register a name before you even though you saw it first by difference of few seconds. The population of domainers have also increased. So you have to evolve with the trend and think like a business man One mystery man from nairaland  paid $200 to back order a name and sold it for $1500 later. I wouldn't advice you do same cos it could have gone the opposite direction and you end up with nothing with an apparent money hung to an unsold domain. But that is what is expected of us... When the need arises. You risk it! I have risk money where I got nothing back in return lol. There was time, I did state this few pages back, I got names from close out and each cost me about 6k. I got 5 of those and all were looking like 4 will sell for $500 a pop but all of a sudden, everything went south. I think being a Nigerian contributed to it... And I was careless because I felt I had gained their trust. I know not many of us can afford such but in the meantime, try to prepare ahead for it. Some of my 4 figure sales were aftermarket purchases and back order. I have not left domaining o... It is my first love and will always be. The truth is the game has changed and we need to change along with it. Sometimes you need to take a step back and reevaluate projections. 43 Likes 4 Shares |

Promxy94:Take heart man. You have to consider that it happens. It's one of the reasons why I gradually withdrew from excessive domaining cos that shiit kills your vibes. There was a time I was hoping to make $2000 from 4 deals at a go for $500 a pop. Guess what? I ended up not making anything. It was heart wrenching. So when you make great sales... Always save as much as you can cos everyday is not going to be like that. The best is have domains that brings in offers. For the other guys arguing over whether to announce a sale or not, it is the prerogative of whomever wish to announce or withhold such info. I have sold many sales I have never announced to public and I know a guy who has never ever mentioned his sale either here or on name pros. There is already enough announcements to give people a clue of what sells but that doesn't even mean that because a certain city sold then testing it with another city will make it sell. We have done all that I can tell you that you may not be lucky. I am happy with the increasing sales from other people now than ever before. at a point, we were few people making sales while others were just looking from sideline but now it's a different story.
