Hmm... I av had instances where d backup didn't restore. All i had to do was to uninstall & install again (or just clear data & cache), them rectify any folder issues that might av duplicated itself.

My main issue with this scenario is that HE DIDN'T BACKUP the chats from the modded WhatsApp in d first place. IF he did, d chats would have been restored.

It depends on how many months he has been using and also it doesn't have fault. If it is okay. Bring it down to 20k

You both got the devices same day as she's your friend! If the phone is still as new (no issues at all), I'll have 2 options:
1) give her the difference of the cost as at the time of purchase!
2) reduce option 1 by 5/10k. Your choice.
