freshtestimony:Are they your kids? Are u their legal guardian? If yes, then you can travel anywhere you want to with them. Questions will always be asked at poe. It is then for you to give any required explanation |

Hello everyone... I have been an extremely silent follower of this thread from part 1. It really helped with the delivery of my son last year, precisely November. I sincerely apologize for not 'giving back' as is the norm here. Please accept my apologies... Visa interview was quite basic. Got a medical visa and had to be the grace of God, cos the money needed was deposited in her account at once a few days before, but the VO was patient enough to ask why and if we had other sources of income. POE was Washington Dulles and it was a breeze. Initial plan was to deliver at Northside, but we decided to stay at Maryland as we had free accommodation in both states. Unfortunately, the hospital I had been speaking with was not as close as I thought. It was near Clarksburg in West Virginia and not the Clarksburg in MD as I thought it was. It was actually a 4-hour drive from MD, but we had no choice cos hospitals in the area were really expensive. We eventually used Stonewall Jackson in Weston, West Virginia. It was supposed to be a scheduled induction, but turned out to be a CS eventually, as baby's heart beat kept dropping as contractions occur... Cord was around his neck. VD is usually around $4/4.5k and CS around $12k, but we negotiated to $8.5. I got PTA from Union bank then for myself only at 199.7 (thank God). Luckily, I have a dollar-paying client, so all I did was to withdraw cash and give to her when she was traveling... I joined her a few weeks after. Documentation for my son was pretty straight forward... US passport in about a week, Naija passport in 2 days from DC. For those planning to travel to the DMV area this month, Qatar has great deals of N264k to Washington for the exacts dates of 17th November - 17th January. It's really good offer and you connect to wherever you want to go to from there. Another great budget airline to travel within the states is Frontier Airline. They have deals as low as $29 one way to a lot of states. Hope I have been able to successfully contribute on here and help someone. I promise to drop more deals or info as much as I can. Thanks and God bless you all... Hope i did not miss anything out. PS: I hail all those from here that I have spotted in the Canadian Express Entry thread... Y'all know yourselves! 22 Likes 1 Share |

Oma92: I have done this trip before in 2010. I promise you wont be too easy for a pregnant woman or doing it with a baby. My rout was JFK-Charlotte-Houston had to wait 3 hours in Charlotte the flight gets to JFK late in the Night you have to look for where to sleep till wee hours in the morning before take off from JFK. I promise you it is better to do Houston direct I did it in 2011 it was sweet. |

firsttymum: You take a train an air training heading to Jamaica station and stop over at terminal 2 or so it is free. But I must warn not easy for an expecting mum or with baby due to the transit times at different airports. When I did it 2010 I used emirates, i was all alone and very free but the stress still got to me |

freshtestimony: Remember to go with a letter of approval from your husband since you are going with your kids who are minors i guess. He should mention that he will be joining you later and go with his passport biodata page. Better to be ready 1 Like |

Many thanks for the prompt response @ Topnotch22. Please must all the money for the pta purchase be in the account of the person travelling? Or can she use her atm card in addition to another person's atm card to pay? Thanks again. |

I was asked to provide evidence that my first child was mine when I was going on this missionary journey. Thankfully US BCs always carry your maiden name so I just brought out the birth cert. I always carry such things because I dont want stress from any angle. chloe7: |

Also since your US Embassy Log-in is still telling u that your passport is still with the embassy why going there and why the rush?. just be patient u will get your passport with Visa or u can give the white paper to someone to collect it for u when its ready and send it to u via one of those local courier, so u can go see your Husband u left since 3 weeks. My in-law own stayed up to 6 business days before he got it,it depends on how busy they are. |
