I kept staring at Nathan who looked carried away. He kept digging his fork into his food but he wasnt eating.
I ate, my gaze steadying on him. I wondered what he was thinking about.
Then i saw him smile 'Nathan?' i called and he jerked.

'yes mum?'

'why were you smiling?'

'me? Smiling? You must be mistaken. Who smiles while eating?'

'my son Nathan does' i smiled mischievously 'tell me, you and Claire made up already?'

'uhm, not really' he shook his head and laughed 'mum, you really should stop bothering yourself about Nene. We will make up at our own time' he winked.

'finally you've admitted that you two are finally going to make up very soon'

I stared at him confusedly 'then why put up such an act? Why did you act that way at the office?'

'i just wanted to make her learn her lesson. Mother, she has no right to constantly degrade me the way she does everytime. I'm a man, and as such i deserve some sort of respect from her'

I reached for his hand 'let me tell you something you dont know son, when you love someone, you dont give up on that person no matter what. Nobody is perfect, everyone has flaws and shortcomings and its your duty to correct your lover's mistakes. You dont give up on the people you claim to love, you teach them how to meet up to your standards instead, alright, loverboy?'
