Those who agitated for the overthrow of Gaddafi in Libya are today regretting the chaos that the country had descended into. South-sudan is currently in total mess despite their independence from Sudan. The status quo may appear not to be working but trust me, things always get worse on the other side.

Will it be a crime for people to sit at a round table and decide how to split peacefully. This is a country of people who don't love them selves. Why are we wasting away. Lugard should be kept in the hottest part of hell for creating this hell hole.

Nobody should threaten us with war. If it leads to war we will fight it. War that the Nigerian army were busy killing innocent civilians with heavy assistance from Britain, IS THAT ONE WAR.

That peaceful secession only exists in very few places is not some ordained phenomenon that cannot be altered. Nothing stops us from working towards achieving those peaceful scenarios in other places. Humans with their heads made it peaceful even if it's just one place.

The same Nnamdi Kanu talked about the government allowing for a referendum recently while he addressed his fellow Igbrew Biafran travelers. The Scots haven't got independence, the Quebecs haven't either, but theyve gotten the chance to cast their votes numerous times. Let the Biafrans have theirs, nothing says the result must be secession. When people starting hearing the debates and arguments for and against leaving, you have no idea what can happen. Sending down troops even when they sit at home however shows you simply have no superior argument except the force you're privileged to have.

And no, anyone who thinks the Biafra of tomorrow will include the south south is simply deluded. And I don't think Nnamdi Kanu will not take his Biafra if the south south refuses to be a part of it.

As unfortunate and as infuriating as it may sound, there's wisdom in the words of those who warn agitators about the dangers of a potential secession war. Splitting a country isn't child's play anywhere in the world, don't be deceived. In the actual sense, the kind of systemic structures needed to achieve peaceful splitting of a country only exists in very-very-very-very few places globally, it certainly doesn't exist anywhere near Africa.

Even the Scottish referendum which is typically cited as an example of civility, that same Scotland has fought several wars for this same purpose but are still yet to achieve full independence (by the way, Scotland is already a country with its own laws, parliament etc, but they're currently only agitating for 'independence'). Even Nnamdi Kanu himself was quoted as saying he doesn't believe in the 'rubbish' called 'peaceful secession' because according to his history books, 'peaceful secession' has never been recorded anywhere before now. Sadly, he made a somewhat valid point which we should have in mind whenever we talk of a secession.

Nigeria today from the north to the west to the east and to the south is totally parasitic on Niger-Delta oil; do you really think Nigeria is civilised enough to fold its arms and watch as one group breaks away, taking away with it, a large chunk of the nation's 'feeding bottle'?... People who warn about a potential war aren't completely stupid as you think, trust me.

you are very myopic if you think this war will be between nigeria and biafra. every country benefitting from oil from nigeria including USA and England will supply bombs and weapons and nukes to nigeria. this is 2017 not 1967. just one bomb or nuke or drone dropped on the SE will kill every igboman alive
You are really very daft, Who said those countries you mentioned won't continue buying oil from the new country or is nigeria dashing them the oil?? are they not buying it?? Reason bro.

Of course we should strive to do things differently, in a more civilized way. But just take a look around you, do you think the contraption called Nigeria (and by extension Africa) has the kind of systemic structures to permit a civil separation?..... In my previous post, I was only responding to a dude who claimed that those mentioning the word 'war' were 'foolishly threatening' war against agitators. I was only clarifying that those warning of war weren't necessarily foolish or hostile, but were rather just highlighting a high possibility considering Nigeria's peculiar arrangement.

america does not deal with renegade terrorists that will disrupt their oil flow. during this war will the oil production not stop ? and will this not cripple world economies who depend on this oil ? THINK LIKE A WISE MAN AND STOP MASTURBATING OVER FOLLY. nigerian is an ally of america and america will always protect its allies and its interests

Your arrogance is disheartning. But I'm pretty sure that your bigotary will catch up with you sooner than later.

I didn't need to because your assertion is not only laughable but stupid. Interestingly, you forgot to state where the oil fields are because just like the other little foot soldiers, you are quick to lump the SS with the SE.

Try to create a standalone mindset with these two regions when clamouring or dreaming of your madness. You should by now know where we align when it comes to Biafra. And before you daydream about Biafrans coming for oil fields in the South South, you just have to understand that those in the region would not sit and have you cripple their lands. The aftermath of a war on all sides is always devastating and Nigeria would be impacted, but that is not to say the other side would remain standing.

If there was to be another war between Nigeria and the Eastern Region (God forbid), we all know it would be a repeat, not because Nigeria is only stronger, but because allies would be readily available to protect their interests. That was how the war was won then and nothing would change about it today

I'd suggest you dedicate an hour of your time to seeing some videos of the civil war on Youtube rather than lift a picture of the Dassault Falcon 900 LX to self-service on your never-ending daydream. The only little mind here is yours.

So who started the Arab war in the 90s? And who started the Iraqi war a couple years ago?

See? You truly overestimate your intelligence.

whats your point ? you make absolutely no points. if you mess the oil production america will drop a bomb on biafra. go and ask stronger men like sadam and ghaddafi what happened to them when they tried to disrupt the flow of oil. they got bombed back into the stone ages and both got killed
