By your logic, Fridays should be removed as a working day. Suits shouldn't be work anymore and English shouldn't be spoken as official language . After all, we want "fairness"
lol. your logic won't work bro. Working on friday has never prevented your prayers nor has it prevented our vgils. You rest on sundays don't you as we also rest too? has anyone ever restricted your praying on sundays? I've schooled on sundays before! school on christmas/easter day before.

English is our colonial language.. your beloved arabic is a FOREIGN language. you have a problem with suits that's ridiculous.

It's "fairness" comments. Muslims consider Fridays important same as Christians consider Sundays. If Sunday is free, why can't Friday?

So English isn't a foreign language? Smh

Actually, it is only an illiterate that will look at cosmetics rather the actual substance.

If you like, have friends from planet Mars, that entirely non of my business and it is not in any way related here.

Dude fucck off my mentions if you not ready to use your head. If islamic arabic studies is supposed to be a language study for muslims, Hebrew (the original language of the bible) could as well be introduced for christains.

You are talking bullshit and you know it! Islamic refers to the religion of ISLAM. Nothing more.

You guys were proposing German, Japanese et al. Arabic is quite on top. Moreso, you are confusing yourself cos that chart is about population. Chinese is on top cos of it's population, how many countries speaks Chinese ? How many speaks Hindi? Don't be blinded with sentiments

Arabic is number 5 because it is spoken by ALL Islamic countries in the Arab league. Over 20 of them. Duh.

The Arab state currently consists of the 22 Arabic-speaking countries of the Arab League.

We don't want to sleep in the same room. If IRS is compulsory then CRS should be and not French. I learnt French language from primary school to SS1. French is a language and not a religion. Besides Islamic studies are taught in almost all the mosques.. E never do
baylord101:
Na wa oo, CAN is always complaining, Probably it's for those religion bigostic in the SE and Core North because I could remember my days back in secondary School, we divide the class to two for IRS/CRS class.

Back then in Umunneochi in Abia state, any time we are preparing for solat passerby will open their mouth and locked their leg just to witness what we are doing and I blame them not because it's only Christianity they were exposed to unlike in Southwest where you will see both sleeping in the same room.

Why make mention of it then? Tryna score a cheap point? UAE is among the top import location for Nigeria ? Now, why shouldn't Arabic be taught in schools ?
Because that's what you have being driving at that from the beginning of the whole drama. I knew from inception that's what you wanted. So influx of Chinese products and uae which one is higher? How deals have we signed with UAE?

It's now Chinese vs Arabic. No more German or Hindi et al. Arabic as a language is widely spoken in more countries. By your logic, other countries importing from China should also input Chinese in their curriculum.

Arabic is taght in western schools , same can't be said about Chinese

somehow:
CRK is equivalent to IRK
Arabic studies is equivalent to English, French, German, Yoruba, Igbo, Bini, Erik, Spanish.

It has nothing to do with religion, rather its a LANGUAGE!

Except this is not arabic studies. Its islamic arabic studies. Christain Hebrew studies should as well be introduced as a course

oga I can't shout abeg. England colonised us, so we speak English. English is a foreign language to me just as it is to you, not Christian language. speak your local dialect if you hate the language. arabic has no importance to Nigeria generally.

About fridays and sundays your context of free is not discriminatory, no? no hindrances in your worship, and on sunday as I observed recently, mosques hold services. You know this is not an issue, so stop trying to use it as a yardstick for islamic coloration of every damn thing.

Values are different, stick to yours and allow others, that is what education is all about.

Education is about teaching something that will be useful in the long run or at least helpful when it comes to the issue of nation building. What have Islam or Christianity done besides sow seeds of discord and mistrust?

And what 'values' do you speak of? The values that allow Muslims to steal and resell food items donated to Muslim IDPs? The values that permit a grandfather to marry a pre-pubescent child?

Or the values that allows state governors who claim to be both xtian and Muslim to steal state funds and then plead poverty when asked why roads are being left in a state of disrepair?

If religion had any real value Africa would be paradise.

Learning Arabic as a Language has become Islamic Arabic Language. Na wa o.

Even in US & UK, they offer Arabic Language as a course.

Is French not a Language?

Then introduce christain Hebrew studies as an alternative. Its the default language of the bible and christains can learn that instead of french or islamic arabic studies. We are not falling for the gimmick!

I pity Chinese because the world power is shifting there but Arabic no. Arabic are taught in western schools but not forced on throat of the students.

If you want Hebrew or whatever language to be taught in your school, tell that to the confused organisation rather than calling for the removal of Arabic which is entirely none of your biz.

Muslims want Arabic language for muslim students, how is that any of your damn bizness for God's sake?
Are christians forced to take it?

After all you people say if muslim girls wear hijab to schools, you will as well start wearing those church gowns, were you stopped by anyone? Which kind wahala be dis?

The values I'm talking about is the one that promotes nudity, armed robbery, human and drug trafficking, prostitution, human rituals, 419, human rituals etc.

We know the religion leading in those fields.

Meanwhile, your understanding of education is too myopic.

It is not just about learning a trade, it is also about knowing your bounds.

I am a Muslim and a very happy and proud one at that, but at times I wonder why our leaders like courting controversies... There is nothing wrong with having a subject covering one faith but it must be balanced with inclusion of other faiths or all of them removed in a worst case scenario... It's just common sensical abeg

The Christians should introduce it themselves rather than calling for the removal of Arabic.

The effort expended in this removal campaign is sufficient to do that.

Which religion promotes nudity? And why does that bother you more than poverty? Food insecurity and illiteracy?

Which religion promotes drug trafficking and prostitution?

Which religion promotes human sacrifice?

And which religion makes reference to 419?

You don't understand the purpose of education because you are al-majiri. That is not your fault but a serious failing of the society which spawned you and many unfortunate souls just like you, many of whom cannot even write their own names.

Hence this outrage! Islam was introduced into the curriculum by the ministry of education. No christain body can decide to introduce a Christian related study except the ministry. Whatever is good for the goose is good for the gander!
