Romance6 Advantages Of Cheaters That Loyal Men Don’t Have by 3Ebisco(op): 9:40am On Jul 16, 2018
If you’ve ever been cheated on I’m sure you can’t imagine how it could even be a good thing.

But funny enough there are advantages to dating a cheating man as opposed to loyal ones (if they even exist).

Here are 6 advantages of cheaters that loyal men don’t have:

1. They are better in bed.

Since they have more experience, these type of men are better in bed, and that’s probably one of the reasons you stick around.

2. They are more charming.

They understand women almost to a dangerous level, they know exactly what they need to do or say to make you smile. They have all the smooth lines and you can’t help but fall for them every time.

3. You feel the need to constantly prove yourself when with a cheater.

While this can also be a negative, it can be a positive in some aspects. With a loyal guy you get comfortable, however with someone who is cheating, you are constantly looking for ways to capture his attention. You’ll constantly be kept on your toes. By the end of the relationship, you are basically a relationship guru.

4. Cheaters keep the relationship dramatic and interesting, where as it can become very boring with a faithful man.

5. Women who have been with cheating men are more better able to spot the behaviors and clues of a philandering partner, and thus avoid future relationships with cheaters.

6. Men who don’t cheat have way more time on their hands, they are available a lot of the time and are constantly calling you up.

Us girls also need time to miss a man. A cheater probably doesn’t bother you as much, so you’ll be more interested, trying to get his attention.

SportsEPL: Mourinho Reveals What’ll Happen To World Cup Stars In Manchester United Squ by 3Ebisco(op): 7:18am On Jul 15, 2018
Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho has revealed what will happen to World Cup stars in his team at the beginning of the Premier League season.

The Portuguese was unhappy with the early start for this season and declared that he won’t start players returning from the World Cup in the Red Devils’ Aug. 10 opener.

Speaking on RT on Saturday, the former Chelsea boss expressed his displeasure with the small window between the World Cup and the start of the domestic season.

He pointed out that players who participated in Russia won’t be given ample time to fully recover.

“We cannot start the Premier League with our players that were in the World Cup, which is a shame for the most important club competition in Europe,” he said.

United players, who participated in the tournament include Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, Marouane Fellaini and David De Gea, among others.

Pogba will file out against Croatia in the final on Sunday while Rashford, Lingard, Fellani, and even Jones played in the third place playoff on Saturday with England and Belgium respectively.

“Three weeks [off], which I think is the minimum that their body and soul needs, and which is the minimum for them to return and think about football again,” Mourinho said.

“To bring them back before that would be, ‘OK, I have you for the first match of the season, but maybe I don’t have you in three or four months.’

“I think three weeks is the minimum they need, which means that they’re going to be back in the week when the Premier League starts, which means they’re not ready to start the Premier League, which is I think difficult to understand, where we could have one more week to prepare everybody.”

PoliticsGanduje’s Commissioner Moves Against Kwankwaso by 3Ebisco(op): 9:57am On Jul 14, 2018
Kano State Commissioner of Agriculture, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, has declared his intention to represent the state’s Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly.

The seat is currently occupied by former Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Gawuna made the declaration at his Gawuna ward, Nassarawa Local Government on Thursday.

He stated the he was not afraid of Kwankwaso’s popularity and political strength.

Gawuna said that his type of politicking has made him a dogged fighter who is not afraid of anyone.

“My People know who Gawuna is. They know the kind of politics I play and they also know that fear of a contest is not part of my political life. We that, we are going out in full force to clinch the seat,” he said.

“Let me make it clear that the Governor is not in any way behind my contest. Although he is my boss but he doesn’t need to push me before I declare my intention as you know.

“I am still a member of the Kano State Executive Council and I believe Governor Ganduje would not interfere with the primaries of the party. But what I know is that he has confidence in me and what I can do.

“I am going to the Senate to change the dwindling misfortune of the Senate as they are being perceived by many Nigerians as enemies of democracy.

“In fact, that challenge has been taken up by the able national chairman of our great party APC and we shall all join hands to achieved it”.

PoliticsPastor Bakare Reveals What Church Leaders Did To Him For Running With Buhari In by 3Ebisco(op): 9:08pm On Jul 12, 2018
Tunde Bakare, the General Overseer of The Latter Rain Assembly has revealed that leaders of the church opposed him when he agreed to be President Muhammadu Buhari’s running mate in the 2011 Presidential election.

Bakare, who is the convener of the Save Nigeria Group, SNG, contested the election on the platform of the Congress for Progressives Change, CPC, but ex-President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, emerged the winner.

However, speaking at the public presentation and launch of ‘Pendulum 1’, ‘Pendulum 2’ and ‘Fighting Lions’ by Dele Momodu, Bakare said elders of the church considered him as a “traitor” and his decision “sacrilegious.”

He said though the move was condemned by the church, his decision paved way for the resounding support received by the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, a pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, who accepted to run with Buhari in 2015.

According to Bakare, “I understand that Fighting Lions captures Dele Momodu’s disappointment at the lack of support from his own constituency, the media and entertainment industries, in the 2011 elections.

“I am pleased to let you know that I am not a brother who is not touched by the feelings of your infirmity, for I also faced the same temptation you did, and so did my friend, Fola Adeola, but the grace of God saw us through.

“It is no news that I participated in the same election as running mate to our current president, Muhammadu Buhari. With the negative image associated with the then General Buhari, especially the allegations of religious fundamentalism, being his running mate as a pastor was not an easy task at all.

“Need I tell you that my strongest critics were from my constituency? To most leaders in the church, aligning with a man they considered an opponent of Christianity against another they considered a Christian was sacrilegious, to say the least. To them, I was a traitor, undeserving of support. Therefore, I understand Dele Momodu’s disappointment. Our experience mirrors that of Joseph who was sold by his brothers because of the dream he had.

“Four years later, when the mantra became ‘Anything but Jonathan’, the same church leaders who had said it was inconceivable for a pastor to participate in politics, especially in alignment with a perceived Islamic fundamentalist, ate their words and threw their weight behind the same Muhammadu Buhari, with my brother, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, a pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, as running mate,” he continued.

“I am also aware that, in 2015, the press, represented by the likes of Dele Momodu, played a role in redefining the narrative and presenting to the Nigerian public a Buhari they could relate to. That year, in addition to other things I did in the background to ensure that the will of the people counted irrespective of the outcome, I recall telling the nation of ‘The Buhari I Know’ just to ensure he was given a fair chance untainted by a negative brand image.

“Now, three years later, it appears, once again, that the people are experiencing buyer’s remorse. Interestingly, the likes of Dele Momodu and I are being blamed for allegedly packaging the current dispensation. It is, however, necessary to remind the nation that there were warnings. We had warned then that plunging headlong into another election cycle without addressing what I called the fundamentals was tantamount to putting the cart before the horse; but when the nation was adamant and wanted its way, like the prophet Samuel did when Israel demanded a king against divine counsel, we played our part to ensure that the interest of Nigeria was kept paramount.

“I am glad that neither the disappointments of the 2011 elections nor the stiff-necked response of those in power to his propositions and warnings have been strong enough to deter Dele Momodu in his steadfast service to the nation from his power slot as a media icon. Instead, he has intensified his contributions just so Nigeria can rise to her potential as a great nation regardless of who is in government. It is that dogged belief in the Nigerian dream that has brought us here today, at a time when the countdown clock to elections reads 219 days but the Nigerian dream is yet asleep and her structural defects glaringly acute.”

PoliticsWhat Buhari Said While Commissioning Abuja Light Rail by 3Ebisco(op): 3:30pm On Jul 12, 2018
President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday expressed delight at the opening of the Abuja Light Rail System.

He said the completion of the project “is a dream come true”.

He commented the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Muhammed Bello, for his hard work and sense of purpose towards the realization of the project.

Buhari said: “This accomplishment clearly demonstrates our commitment to addressing critical infrastructural projects and keeping with the ideals of the Change Agenda to ensure prudence in the management of public resources, value for money considering the huge investments in this project.

“Transportation is the live wire of any city. I am very optimistic that a modern rail service would bring about a boost to the FCT economy and greatly enhance social life. I am aware that what we have on ground today are coaches meant to provide skeletal services as we await the main set of the rolling stock for full operations.

“I have been briefed on the outcome of the Hon. Ministers of F.C.T and Finance recent visit to China, during which the MOUs and agreements for the procurements of the main rolling stock were signed.

“May I therefore assure Nigerians of Federal Government’s continued support for all the negotiations towards the realization of the Abuja Light Rail system.

“Today, what we have in the Federal Capital Territory is another evidence that we are a government that delivers on its promises. I have observed keenly other milestones that this Administration has achieved, especially in the areas of education, public utilities and infrastructure development.

“I am thankful to the Government and people of China for their investment in the Nigerian economy. I commend the CCECC Limited – the Contracting Firm, for the quality of work and timely delivery of this project.

“Let me place on record the Nigerian government’s appreciation to the Government of China and the EXIM Bank of China for their support on this and many other projects currently being executed in the country. This gesture further cements the already existing cordial relations and developmental partnership between Nigeria and the People’s Republic of China.

“I would also like to thank our Nigerian Consultants, Messrs Transurb Technirail Consult Limited for their services.

“Let me conclude by urging the FCT Administration, especially, the management of the rail services, to ensure efficient operations, good customer service and maintenance culture in the operations punctuality of the rail.”

SportsWorld Cup 2018: Five Times VAR Made A Difference by 3Ebisco(op): 9:21pm On Jul 11, 2018
The following factbox details five times a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) made an impact at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, NAN reports.

1. France 2-1 Australia

June 16, 2018

Group C

France’s first game against Australia was the first time VAR was used to award a penalty at the World Cup.

Antoine Griezmann was through on goal and inside the penalty area before he went down under contact from Josh Risdon.

Referee Andres Cunha allowed play to continue, but stopped the game after being alerted by the VAR.

The referee checked replays on a pitch-side monitor and awarded a penalty from which Griezmann opened France’s account.

2. Brazil 2-0 Costa Rica

June 22, 2018

Group E

The game was scoreless with 12 minutes remaining and Brazil were pushing for an equaliser when Neymar went to ground under a touch from Giancarlo Gonzalez, leading referee Bjorn Kuipers to award a penalty.

The VAR intervened, and the referee watched the replays and reversed his decision, marking the first time a VAR review had cancelled the award of a penalty at the World Cup.

3. Iran 1-1 Portugal

June 25, 2018

Group B

Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo was fouled in the box and the referee awarded a record 19th penalty at the World Cup before the knockout rounds.

Ronaldo missed his spot kick, but the decision eclipsed the previous record tally of 18 penalties awarded at the 2002 World Cup hosted by Japan and South Korea.

VAR was used on two more occasions of note in the same match – when Ronaldo was shown a yellow card for an elbow and to award Iran a penalty for handball in extra time that allowed the Asian team to level the score.

4. Spain 2-2 Morocco

June 25, 2018

Group B

At nearly the same time as Iran was scoring their penalty to level with Portugal, Iago Aspas had scored a late goal to draw Spain level with Morocco, but his celebrations were cut short by the linesman’s flag for offside.

Referee Ravshan Irmatov was alerted by the VAR to check the replays and overturned the linesman’s decision and awarded the goal, sending Spain through to the knockout stages as group winners ahead of Portugal.

5. Sweden 1-0 Switzerland

July 3, 2018

Round of 16

Sweden were 1-0 up and under pressure from Switzerland late in the game when they broke through the Swiss cordon and launched a quick counter-attack.

Martin Olsson was bearing down on the Swiss goal when he was fouled by Michael Lang and the referee awarded a penalty and showed Lang a red card.

After consulting the VAR, the referee realised the foul had taken place outside the area and changed his decision, giving the Swedes a free kick instead.

PoliticsGov Okowa’s Younger Brother Allegedly Slaps SSG, Agas Over Untreated Files by 3Ebisco(op): 11:07am On Jul 11, 2018
Secretary to Delta State Government (SSG), Mr Festus Ovie Agas was allegedly slapped by the younger brother to the State Governor, Mr Tony Okowa, resulting in a fresh controversy in the state.

It was gathered that the governor’s younger brother was said to had last Thursday stormed the office of the SSG over untreated files.

Sources at the office said Tony Okowa, chairman Delta State Sports Commission had gone to the SSG’s office to demand why he (SSG) had not treated the files he considered to be very urgent.

But apparently angered by the SSG’s alleged responses that the files were not urgent to him, Okowa in the process allegedly closed in on him (SSG) and slapped him.

Attempt by the Delta State Government to deny, and sweep the incident under the carpet failed as it has continued to generate reactions from critical stakeholders in the state, particularly those considered to be loyal to the SSG.

Eyewitnesses who did not want their names in the print told DAILY POST that, “Tony Okowa, stormed the office in anger. We were in the office when we heard him shouting on why his files were not treated with the urgency that it required. All attempts for the SSG to explain met a brick wall as both of them were shouting, the next thing we heard was slaps on the face of SSG. If not for our intervention, Tony Okowa would have used chairs and other objects to break his head. We were shocked when we started hearing the heated argument from the SSG’s office. Thank God we moved into the office”.

But the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Communications, Barr. Fred Oghenesivbe in a swift reaction, denied the incident, adding: “It is certainly not true that the SSG, Agas fought with Tony Okowa, that was a complete falsehood and a black propaganda”.

But speaking to DAILY POST, Tony Okowa said: “I went to see the SSG actually over some official matters, and he asked me to wait, but I over waited. Frankly speaking, I was not happy for waiting for so long, and didn’t get to fix the pressing official matter that took me to his office, I expressed my displeasure, and I left the SSG’s office, I expected a better reception, and attention which was not forthcoming, that is all I can say”.

Efforts to speak with the SSG, Mr Festus Ovie Agas proved abortive as repeated calls to him were not picked while SMS sent to his telephone line was also ignored.

A staff in his office who spoke to DAILY POST on condition of anonymity said: “Tony Okowa slapped Oga, and he warned us not to say it to the press.”

Also speaking to DAILY POST, the President General of the Urhobo Progress Union, (UPU), Chief Joe Omene said “slapping of Agas by the Governor’s younger brother, Tony Okowa confirmed my earlier claim that the Urhobos in Okowa’s government are nothing more than errand boys. This serves Agas right for betraying the Urhobo nation in 2015 election. Those who played major roles to undermine the Urhobo nation politically in 2015 will all meet their Waterloo.”

Politics2019: What Saraki, Dogara Must Do To Buhari, APC Now – Arewa Youths by 3Ebisco(op): 10:32pm On Jul 10, 2018
The Arewa Youths Consultative Forum, AYCF, has advised the President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara to join the coalition against President Muhammadu Buhari and the All progressives Congress, APC, before “the house will collapse with them.”

Speaking with DAILY POST, AYCF President, Shettima Yerima said it was clear that the two APC chieftains were no longer wanted in the party.

He said it was the best time for the duo to join the newly formed coalition and work towards ensuring that President Buhari and APC did not return to power in 2019.

“My advice for the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara is that I hope they are wise enough to know that where they are cannot be alternative to them.

“They should as quickly as possible join the force of pro-people movement and work in the best interest of this country.

“It is clear that where they are cannot accommodate them and hope that they make the decision as quickly as possible before the house will collapse with them.”

CultureWe, Not Ajimobi Govt, Suspended Your Salary – Ibadan High Chiefs Tell Olubadan by 3Ebisco(op): 1:24pm On Jul 10, 2018
Some High Chiefs in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, who were promoted to the status of Obas by Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo state, have insisted that they were the ones responsible for the stoppage of the monthly salary of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji and not the state government as was being speculated.

The High Chiefs, who are now referred to as Obas, made this revelation during a meeting attended by some community leaders (Mogajis) held at Mapo Hall on Monday.

Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun declared that the salaries from 10 months which the Olubadan is entitled to would be suspended until he recognized their new status as kings.

They added that it was sheer selfishness for the Olubadan to accept his new title of “Imperial Majesty” and maintain a rigid stance against their own installation.

Balogun said, “The Olubadan got promotion from royal majesty to imperial majesty, he didn’t complain but he is not ready to recognise us as kings, how do you think that can be possible?

“He should remember that he couldn’t have become king if we, the kingmakers did not recommend him to the governor.

“It is not automatic that he should become king. In fact, anybody from the chieftaincy title of Ekerin from both lines can be picked as Olubadan of Ibadan.

“We recommended him to the governor before he was installed by the same governor who installed us as kings.

“We want to correct the misconception that it was the state government that stopped his salary. The governor is paying him his monthly salary from time to time. But, there is another N200,000 he usually collects from each of the 11 local governments in Ibadanland. That is the one we suspended. He will start collecting it as soon as he recognises us as duly-installed kings.”

PoliticsEkweremadu Speaks On Alliance Between PDP, R-APC, SDP, Others by 3Ebisco(op): 7:42am On Jul 10, 2018
Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, on Monday assured that the alliance of over 30 political parties, which led to the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), would rescue Nigeria in 2019.

A statement by his media aide, Uche Anichukwu, said that Ekweremadu gave the assurance during the signing of the MoU by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Reformed-All Progressives Congress (rAPC), Social Democratic Party (SDP), among other opposition political parties in Abuja on Monday.

He said: “For three years, what I see on the faces of Nigerians is frustration and anguish. But for the first time, I tell you that I saw joy. I saw people laughing and smiling for the first time in three years.

“Those our brothers and sisters, and investors, who left Nigeria in the last three years are also rejoicing with you because by this time next year, they will all be back.

“Those factories that were closed are going to come back alive by this time next year and Nigerians will rejoice.

“The people of the South East whom the programmes and practices of this government are forcing them to have a rethink on their membership of this country, today will rejoice and be happy that a new country that will be fair to all is coming; a country that they will be proud to be part of and continue to contribute to her development.

“All our people in Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps, who have been wondering or believe that they will spend the rest of their lives in the IDP camps are happy today because their stay there is almost over; because next year, we will enthrone a government that will take them to their homes and protect them there.

“The media houses, all the instruments and institutions of democracy that have been trampled and muzzled in this country, they will be free again to do their work without fear of intimidation.

“Those, who are being persecuted on account of their political views or insisting that the right thing should be done, are also going to rejoice because a new dawn is here,. One of them is my brother, Senator Dino Melaye, who went through hell, but today, he is a free man.

“Also, remember that Nelson Mandela said that unless Nigeria earns the respect of the world, no one would respect Africa. So, various countries of Africa, who have looked up to Nigeria to provide leadership will have a good dinner in their houses today, happy that we are coming back again to retake our place again as the foremost country in Africa and to provide leadership”.

“Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is Edo North leader and it behoves on all of us to pray for him, support him and join him to achieve the national task given to him rather than creating tension for him and avenue to create division in the Edo North APC.”

PoliticsAbacha Loot: Why Buhari Must Expose APC Members, Presidency Cabal ‘siphoning’ $3 by 3Ebisco(op): 7:34pm On Jul 08, 2018
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Sunday charged President Muhammadu Buhari to make public the “names and photographs” of members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the “Presidency cabal” involved in the alleged syphoning of repatriated $322 million.

The party said Buhari should take the step by showing his “transparency as well as to enable Nigerians know and see the faces of those superintending over the stealing of the repatriated fund under the guise of sharing it to the ‘poorest of the poor.”

In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan, the opposition party also challenged Buhari to order the “Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) as well, to make public, the APC interests who own the consulting firm reported to have been paid billions of naira as consultancy fees for the “sharing” of the money, which was not also passed through the constitutionally required approval of the National Assembly.”

The statement reads, “President Buhari needs to note that Nigerians are utterly dismayed that having hitherto postured as a supporter of the ‘Talakawa’ and man of integrity, he has taken no steps against this bare-faced atrocity where over 90 percent of supposed beneficiaries of the repatriated fund are phony names supplied by fraudulent officials of his government.

“Nigerians are completely at a loss on why President Buhari always fail to take bold steps to expose and deal with corrupt and sharp practices by his appointees and leaders of his APC, even when such nefarious acts are directly against the less-privileged citizens already suffering the harsh economic realities of his administration.

“Since this issue was raised and the PDP called for a legislative scrutiny, the Federal Government and the APC have kept mum, perhaps, thinking that by their silence, it will be swept under the carpet like others in the past.”

However, the party said the APC and the Presidency should be informed that “Nigerians want to know the details of all those involved in the sharing, the details of the consultants; who authorized the consultancy, the scope of work of the consultancy firm as well as the terms.

“Mr. President should therefore not stand aloof on this matter like others before it because it directly concerns the people.

“The impunity, stealing, and corruption under his administration have reached the rooftop and must be brought to check before the nation suffers an irreparable hemorrhage.”

CelebritiesI Gained Admission To Study Medicine Twice – Seyi Law by 3Ebisco(op): 12:46pm On Jul 07, 2018
Comedia Seyi Law has opened up on his growing up years as well as celebrity marriages crashing.

Speaking with Saturday Beats, SAeyi said;

The truth of the matter is that we get to see celebrity break-ups because they are always in the limelight. We have celebrities that have stayed together in marriages but people hardly talk about them. They like talking about the bad ones.

“Celebrity marriage break-up is like plane crashes. We hardly talk about flights that took off safely and landed safely. So, break-ups happen everywhere in all professions; but people don’t talk about them because they are not in the limelight.

“Marriage institution is sweet and tedious at the same time, we just keep hoping that we’ll keep understanding one another,” he said.

On how lucrative comedy, he said;

“A lot of people know that comedy is lucrative. If you see how far I’ve come, then you’ll know how lucrative the profession is. This is basically the business I do. I got married out of it. I am able to take good care of my family. So, I will say it’s quite good.”

PoliticsEkiti Guber: PDP Candidate, Olusola Blasts Fayemi Over Attack On Teachers by 3Ebisco(op): 8:21am On Jul 07, 2018
The Campaign organization of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Prof Kolapo Olusola, has condemned the attack on teachers in Emure Ekiti by thugs allegedly working for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

It said the miscreants were allegedly imported into the town by the APC candidate for the July 4 election, Kayode Fayemi.

Spokesperson of the Kolapo Olusola Campaign Organisation (KOCO), Lere Olayinka said one of the attacked teachers, Mr. Babalola, was beaten to stupor on Friday.

Olayinka, who noted that no amount of intimidation and harassment can stop APC from losing the poll next week, added that “Fayemi is further demonstrating that he hates teachers and will do anythingto make their lives impossible.”

He said, “Having been confronted with reality that teachers in the State won’t vote for Fayemi because of his demonstration of hatred against the teachers, they have now opted for attack, harassment and intimidation so as to scare the teachers from voting.”

He stated that it was funny that Fayemi, who desired votes from Ekiti people, was either arresting and detaining them or sending thugs to attack them.

“Is it those teachers that he is sending armed men of the DSS to arrest or thugs to brutalise that will vote for him?

“May be he does not need votes because what they have been saying is that they already have assurance from INEC for results to be writing and announced not minding results from polling units.

“However, we wish to call on Ekiti people, especially teachers to see this show of desperation by Fayemi as a phase that can never last.

“They should therefore go out to cast their votes on July 14, bearing in mind that these Egypt we are seeing today, by the end of July 14, we will see them no more,” he said.

Ali Ndume, the senator representing Borno South in the National Assembly, has revealed why his colleagues are allegedly afraid of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and compromise on critical issues.

He claimed that senators compromise a lot because going against the “standpoint” of the Senate President will lead to them losing certain “advantages and privileges” due them.

Speaking at a News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, forum in Abuja, Ndume said these alleged privileges were all in the hands of the Senate President.

He alleged that the Senate has been personalized, hence lawmakers are afraid of expressing their opinion.

According to Ndume, “Senators are afraid of expressing their opinion on what they believe in for fear of persecution, discrimination or sabotage.

“For instance, everything is in the hands of the Senate leadership or the President of the Senate.

“This is to the extent that if you go against the standpoint of the Senate President there is the possibility of missing certain advantages and privileges that senators see as important; so, they compromise.”

PoliticsDasuk Vs FG: Ex-nsa’s Trial Put Off by 3Ebisco(op): 10:49pm On Jul 05, 2018
The trial of former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki in the alleged misappropriation of Security fund brought against him by the Federal Government has been put off again by a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

This followed the inability of the Federal Government to file the list of exhibits to be tendered against the Ex-NSA as required by law.

At the resumed hearing on Thursday, counsel to Dasuki, Mr. Adeola Adedipe raised objection against the continued trial of his client on the ground that the prosecution team led by Mr. Rotimi Jacobs has not complied with some provisions of the law.

Adedipe, who stood for Joseph Daudu and Ahmed Raji, informed Justice Hussein in Baba Yusuf that contrary to Section 379 of the Administration of the Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) 2015, the prosecution has not made the list of exhibits available to Dasuki to enable him to prepare his defence in compliance with the law. Although, the prosecution has already called its witness, Mr. Michael into the box.

The objection raised by Dasuki’s counsel was agreed upon by Justice Baba Yusuf who remarked that the process of law must be complied with in the interest of justice and fair play.

Justice Baba-Yusuf said that any attempt to circumvent any section of the provision of the law can make nonsense of the trial in the end.

The court, therefore, adjourned the trial to September 27 and 28 as well as October 8 and 9, 2018 for the continuation of trial.

The court ordered that necessary processes must be filed and served on parties before the returned dates.

Dasuki, through his counsel, had objection tendering of the voluminous documents that were not clearly stated in the list of the exhibit being sought to be tendered against him by the Federal Government.

He specifically insisted that most of the documents sought to be tendered against him were from unknown people who were not listed as witnesses in his trial and that such documents are objectionable.

The position of Dasuki was adopted by other defendants in the trial, who in their submission urged the court to compel the prosecution to comply with the necessary provision of the law to make the trial go unhindered.

Also, counsel to Aminu Baba-Kusa, Mr Solomon Umoh, SAN, applied to the court for a permission of the court to allow his client to travel abroad for a medical check-up.

The application was not opposed by the government’s counsel Rotimi Jacobs who told the court that the applicant had once being gone abroad for the medical checkup on the permission of the court and came back for his trial.

Justice Baba-Yusuf, while granting the application, ordered his travelling passport be returned to him to enable go for the medical check-up and that the applicant must return to the country before the adjourned date and returned the travelling passport to the court custody.

The incident happened around Ceddi Plaza, Abuja.

“The bullet hit Angela on her side and she began loosing blood in the open roof vehicle.

“She was rushed to the Garki hospital but they wouldn’t treat her until they see a police report despite the fact that the police officers were present. While the deliberation was ongoing, Angela bled to death.

“The case was later taken to Federal Secretariat Police Station. We are awaiting the police report on the incident and have initiated a petition to the commissioner of police & the Force Headquarters.”

“My question is, even if you hear help in your subconscious, is the solution to fire at the person who is shouting for help? You could not stop them, double cross them or find a way to stop the vehicle to be sure everyone was okay but you instead opened fire at them?

“I think this is a lie and they are trying to cover up their evil acts.”

PoliticsVacate Our Land, Forests Within 2 Months Or Be Killed – Igbo Group Tells Herdsme by 3Ebisco(op): 1:30pm On Jul 04, 2018
An Igbo pressure group, Voice from the East, VEAST, has given the Fulani herdsmen in the South-East, as well as Anioma, in Delta State, and Ikwere in Rivers State, up till August 31, 2018 to leave.

The group wants the cattle rearers to vacate their land and forests.

The group embarked on a peaceful protest Tuesday in Enugu, warning that should the armed herdsmen fail to leave after the ultimatum, they would mobilise and comb forests and lands to send them packing.

They said that they may even resort to killing the herdsmen should they become adamant and refuse to leave.

They said that the quit notice was a result of the Federal Government’s inaction or tacit support for the herdsmen menace.

Convener of the group, Comrade Kindness Jonah, told newsmen after their demonstration that government’s inability to check the killings necessitated the issuance of the quit notice.

“We carried out the demonstration for the sole purpose of giving quit notice to Fulani herdsmen in Igboland, the five South Eastern states as well as Anioma and Ikwerre land.

“The aberrant killings by Fulani herdsmen purposely unchecked by Federal Government and military instigated this quit notice.

“At Ezi Nze in UDI Local Government Area of Enugu State, Fulani herdsmen kidnapped several young men, demanding N2 million compensation for purported killing of undisclosed number of cows, out of which N6000,000.00 has been paid.

“VEAST sees this as an affront of the highest order which can no longer be tolerated in Igboland.

”After 31st August, 2018, since nobody holds the monopoly of violence and for the mere fact that the Nigerian military and police are working secretly, openly with the herdsmen, VEAST will galvanise young men from all Igboland to enter Igbo forests to kill and butcher any Fulani herdsmen,” he said.

Politics2019: You Don’t Have What It Takes To Conquer Buhari, Rule Nigeria – Gov. Ganduj by 3Ebisco(op): 9:30pm On Jul 01, 2018
Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, on Sunday, lambasted his predecessor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, for saying he will easily defeat President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019 if fielded by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Ganduje, who dismissed Kwankwaso’s claim, said the former governor was a political lightweight who cannot win an election in his ward and does not have what it takes to defeat Buhari in the next election.

In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, the governor said Kwankwaso had since lost political relevance in Kano politics.

He said Kwankwaso had since become “a political fugitive who does not have the platform, the intellectual capability and mental ability to manage the affairs of Nigeria.”

Ganduje said, ”Senator Kwankwaso’s latest utterances have confirmed the fact that he is now a confused politician who is grabbing every opportunity to relaunch himself back into relevance.

“For over three years, he has been sleeping in the Senate without sponsoring even a bill that will positively impact on the lives of Nigerians. This is a clear indication that he has nothing to offer. He is just being boastful.

“For over three years, Kwankwaso has been in the Senate, he has not visited Kano Central, his senatorial district. He has not executed any tangible constituency project for his people.

“Since then, he has not been around and we have been here in Kano playing the game of politics the way it should be done. The good people of Kano are appreciating our modest achievements and they have expressed confidence in us.

“Senator Kwankwaso’s dream to get the PDP presidential ticket remains a tall one that can never see the light of the day because those he is going to meet there are familiar with his antics. They have not forgotten in a hurry the role he played in destroying the same PDP.

“I am surprised that Kwankawso is now talking about people like Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, a man he persecuted and betrayed in many occasions. I am surprised he is talking about the PDP, a party he destroyed and betrayed many of the chieftains who are still there today to pay him back with his own coin.”

Ganduje insisted that Kwankwaso was no longer relevant in Kano politics, pointing out that all his political structure had been completely dismantled.

He added that “Those who know him will understand that he is overrating himself and cannot be seen as a major contender in the 2019 presidential election. He is a usurper who wants power by all means. Here in Kano, the support for President Buhari and the APC is non-negotiable.”

PoliticsNigeria May Cease To Exist In 6 Months – Clarke by 3Ebisco(op): 10:55am On Jul 01, 2018
A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Robert Clarke (SAN) has said that Nigeria may cease to exist within the next six months unless there is a change in the system of governance.

According to him, there is no light at the end of the tunnel for the nation, looking at the looming implosion of several political parties ahead of the 2019 general elections.

He told Sun Newspaper in an interview: “We cannot continue with this system of government. Within the next six months, if we don’t sit to change the system of government this country will collapse. If we don’t sit down to change the system of governance that will move us forward, this country will collapse.

“There is no light at the end of the tunnel. When you are digging a tunnel, as you dig it and you are seeing a green light you know you are nearing the end, but here there is no light.

“We are going into a primary for all political parties, they will either sink or swim together after that primary.

“Go and write it down. I’m not a seer, I don’t see visions but I’m telling you that the primaries of all the political parties will be the demise of political parties in Nigeria because they are going to kill themselves.”

CrimeWhy We Kidnapped, Raped Old Women – Suspect by 3Ebisco(op): 11:17am On Jun 30, 2018
A suspected kidnapper, Nnamdi Ethelbert, Ogidi, has been arrested by detectives attached to the Anti-kidnapping Squad, Imo State Police Command.

Ogidi has a record of kidnapping elderly women.

The 34-year-old confessed to the police that he and his gang members who are currently at large have abducted several persons out of which 15 of them were elderly women.

Ogidi was arrested after he kidnapped a 74-year-old Regina Nkwocha, from Umuanyika, Ngorokpala Local Government Area of Imo state.

They had entered negotiation for N20million ransom when detectives busted their hideout at Umuaguma in Owerri west, Imo state on May 23, 2018. Ogidi was arrested while the other members of his gang escaped.

The Imo state Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi told Sun that the suspect, Ogidi popularly known as Bori and his gang members have been on the wanted list of the police over several cases of kidnapping.

The Police Commissioner explained that back in November 29, 2017, Ogidi and his gang kidnapped Adulphus Akagha aged 94; on May 7, 2018, they kidnapped 65 -year-old Dorothy Nkwo and demanded for N5million ransom.

She was later released after the family paid N500, 000.

He stated that Ogidi had successfully kidnapped Mrs. Nkwocha and was negotiating for a N20million ransom when detectives led by Supol Sani Ahmed stormed their hideout and rescued the victim.

At the police station, Ogidi confessed that he joined the gang of kidnappers five years ago. “I am from Imo State and after dropping out of senior secondary school, I learnt how to become a mechanic.

“Along the line, I met bad friends who initiated me into the deadly cult group known as Debam fraternity. Most of them were into one bad thing or the other, so it was easy for me to join a gang of kidnappers who are also members of the cult.

“We derive pleasure in kidnapping elderly women and while their family members will be running around for ransom, we will take turns to rape the women.

“Our hideout is at Egbema local government. We prefer elderly women because it is easier to control them and their family members are always in a hurry to pay for their release” he said.

Ogidi begged all the elderly women that they had kidnapped to forgive him. “I know that we have made a lot of money from kidnapping but because of the trauma that those women who are old enough to be my mother went through, I am sincerely sorry. I still hope that the police will arrest the others because I cannot face the consequence of our action alone.”

@idehenkay, o

”Indeed a very sad day, a tragedy that could be avoided but some people care more about their pockets & how to stark money in their foreign bank accounts. God help our dear country & may the soul of the departed ones rest in peace#OtedolaBridge #NigerianLivesMatter.

@forgiv,”The tanker issue didn’t start today, it has happened in Mile 2, Iyana Ipaja, Festac, Ijanikin; the tanker fell off and set properties and vehicles ablaze. A few days ago at Ojuelegba, it happened, so this is not a religious matter. It is pure laxity.”

PoliticsCourt Grants Senator Omo-agege’s Plea Against Saraki, Senate by 3Ebisco(op): 9:23pm On Jun 28, 2018
The Federal High Court, Abuja, on Thursday, granted an application by Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege seeking to serve contempt proceedings on the Senate and the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, through newspaper publication.

Omo-Agege approached the court through an ex parte motion seeking to effect service of form 48 which is notice of contempt and form 49, notice of committal to prison on the respondents for refusing to accept personal service.

Omo-Agege’s counsel, Mr Alex Izinyon (SAN) told the court that since May when the court made an order nullifying his client’s suspension, the senate had yet to pay him his outstanding salaries, and allowances.

Izinyon told the court that they had difficulty serving the respondents particularly the senate president.

He said that the bailiff informed him that the security at the gate of the National Assembly denied him access to the complex.

Following Izinyon’s submissions, Justice Nnamdi Dimgba granted the order for substituted service through newspaper publication as prayed by the applicant.

The News Agency of Nigeria, (NAN) reports that the move by Omo-Agege is to enforce the May 10 judgment delivered by Justice Dimbga nullifying his suspension and ordering the senate to pay him his outstanding salaries and allowances.

NAN recalls that the court had nullified the suspension of Omo-Agege and declared it illegal on the grounds that the reason given by the Senate and the Senate President for suspending him was unconstitutional.

The court had consequently ordered the defendants to pay Omo-Agege any outstanding salaries or allowances which were due to him during the period of the suspension.

Politics2019: How PDP Will Defeat APC In Benue – Lawmaker, Ahubi by 3Ebisco(op): 1:08pm On Jun 27, 2018
As activities begin to gear up towards 2019 general elections, a member of the Benue House of Assembly, Hon. Egli Johnson Ahubi, has revealed some nuggets on how the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would sustain its reign in Benue South in 2019.

Despite the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state and at the national levels, the PDP proved its dominance in Benue South during 2015 general elections, by winning 10 out of 11 House of Assembly seats, while clearing the whole 4 seats for House of Representatives and the only senatorial seat.

To sustain such feat in 2019, Hon. Ahubi tasked the leadership of the PDP on internal democracy, urging them to provide level playing ground for aspirants vying for various positions in the party.

Ahubi who is a leading contender for the House of Representatives seat for Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency made the call in Otobi-Akpa (Otukpo) and Ochobo- Ohimini Local Government area respectively during his declaration to party executives at both local government and ward levels.

The aspirant who is currently representing Otukpo/Akpa State Constituency in the Benue State Assembly, said, “a level playing ground for all aspirants would not only give credence to the exercise but would also convince aspirants and their supporters to accept the outcomes of the forthcoming primaries”.

The parliamentarian further advised the party to steer from sharp practices in the electoral process, stressing that, “undue favouritism and imposition of candidates would hurt the spirit and the soul of the Peoples Democratic Party at the moment”.

He advised aspirants to shun abusive language capable of causing disharmony within the party, saying that the party needs all hands to be on deck after the primaries.

Hon. Ahubi leveraged on the opportunity to highlight some of his achievements as a member of the State Assembly. Since he began to swim in the murky water of politics, he recounted that he has made tremendous contributions to law making in plenary and oversight functions.

In providing uncommon representation and responsive leadership to his constituency, he said he has “provided agricultural inputs such as fertilizers and herbicides to farmers, graded some rural roads, constructed some culverts and drainages, gave scholarships to indigent pupils and students, paid medical bills of numerous distressed patients, provided grants to educational establishments and constructed health centres”.

In the same vein, he pointed out that he, “electrified several communities and provided electricity distribution transformers as lifelines to some communities”.

In the area of empowerment, Ahubi disclosed that he “distributed equipment to boost Small and Medium Scale Enterprises such as hair dryers, sewing machines, computers, motorbikes, grinding machines”.

To stem the tide of social vices among the youth in his constituency, the legislator said he organizes the annual Egli Unity Football tournament known as Egli Unity cup. The frontiers of the tournament, he explained, has been broadened to cover the entire Federal Constituency.

In curbing the current tide of insecurity in Otukpo Local Government Area, Ahubi said he procured and donated vehicles to support security operations, adding that he also built and donated security posts to the Vigilante in Otukpo/Akpa.

According to the legislator, intervening in the security matter, became imperative due to rising cases of cultism, kidnapping, armed robbery, insurgency and Fulani/Herdsmen conflicts.

A hallmark of the event was the donation of a gift of Peugeot 406 salon car to the Otukpo Local Government PDP chairman, Mr Abel Otobi to enhance party operations.

In their various responses, Chairman of Otukpo LGA Peoples Democratic Party and his Ohimini counterpart, Adakole Akatu thanked Hon. Ahubi for his kind gestures and wished him well in his political aspiration. They commended the lawmaker for his steadfastness and commitment to the party during its moment of trials.

He, however, assured his counterpart, Governor Lalong that Benue will continue to stand with the people of Plateau in prayers until the orgy of violence over the state and other parts of the Middle-Belt is brought to an end.

PoliticsNational Assembly Resumes Battle To Re-order 2019 Election Sequence by 3Ebisco(op): 11:58am On Jun 26, 2018
The National Assembly has asked the Appeal Court sitting in Abuja to set aside a Federal High Court judgement, which stated that it lacked the power to re-order the proposed sequence for the 2019 general elections.

Justice Ahmed Mohammed of an Abuja Division of the Federal High Court, had in his judgement in a suit filed by Accord Party against National Assembly, the Attorney-General of the Federation, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), held that the election timetable earlier released by the INEC could not be altered by the Legislature.

Accord Party filed the suit through Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, after both chambers of the National Assembly attempted to implement Section 58 of the Constitution, which allows the Legislature to override the decision of the President.

Among reliefs the Plaintiff sought before the court, which were granted, include “A declaration that the 3rd Defendant, is the only body and or institution constitutionally vested with the powers, vires, and duties to organise, undertake and supervise elections to the offices of the President and Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Governor and Deputy Governor of a State, membership of the Senate, the House of Representatives and the House of Assembly of each State of the Federation, including fixing or assigning dates of the said elections and sequence of same”.

However in its appeal, the NASS, which was the 1st Defendant at the lower court asked the appellate court to set aside the decision of Justice Mohammed, and dismiss in its entirety, the Plaintiff’s claims in the Originating Summons.

In the Notice of Appeal filed through its Lawyer, Mr. J.B Daudu, SAN, the NASS stated that the learned trial judge, erred in law when he assumed jurisdiction to entertain and determine the suit, when the purpose of passing the Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill 2018 into an Act.

NASS contended that the trial judge wrongly failed to appreciate that, until the Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill 2018 was passed into an Act by the exercise of the legislative power of the National Assembly to over-ride the veto or withholding of assent to the Bill by the President, the same remained inchoate and not capable of vesting a justiciable civil right or obligation on any person, including the Plaintiff.

The legislature further contended amongst others, that the lower court wrongly interpreted the provisions of Section 4(cool of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), so as to reach the conclusion that the Federal High Court was vested with jurisdiction to impugn a Bill perceived to be unconstitutional.

“The lower court was further in error, when it relied on the certificate of the Clerk of the National Assembly pursuant to the Acts Authentication Act on the Bill (Exh ‘A’), as proof that the Bill’s constitutionality could be challenged in a superior court of law.

“The learned trial judge erred in law, when he failed to appreciate that the Plaintiff’s suit (subject-matter of this Appeal), was not properly constituted and therefore, incompetent”, it stated.
