Sharing his photos he wrote; 7 years today. Rest on Dad.

Sam Loco Efe was found dead in a hotel room Sunday morning. No one know the cause of his death. The death is suspected to be asthma as ventolin inhalers were found beside him in the room. The room door was forced open after he failed to come down after retiring to bed the previous night.

Efe died without fulfilling the dream of taking a deserved rest at his Abakaliki, Ebonyi State farm house, one of his close friends revealed.

A young mother who lost her husband decided to include him in her maternity photoshoot, so she had him edited into the photos to show he will always be a part of their small family.

Stephanie Maynetto-Jackson was married to 28-year-old Stuart Jackson and they were expecting their second child. Sadly, he died in a tragic motorcycle accident when Stephanie was just 18 weeks pregnant. The couple, both Army veterans, were just two weeks away from learning the sex of their baby before Stuart sadly passed away.

As the birth of her baby neared, Stephanie planned a maternity photoshoot, one that will include her late husband.

She told Metro.co.uk: “The shoot was honestly a very difficult day for me because those days make it seem a bit more real that Stuart is no longer physically with us.

“He loved taking photographs and documenting our journey. He did great both behind and in front of the camera. He was a natural and had a smile that could brighten any room. He definitely passed that along to both of our sons.

“I was inspired to do the shoot because I wanted our son to have maternity photos that would always remind him that Stuart and I both planned for him. We wanted to bring him into this world and he should know that he was loved from the very beginning. He won’t have memories with him but this was a way for him to cherish this time in our lives.”

The stunning pictures have now been shared all over the world, with many people praising her courage and strength.

Stephanie gave birth to her second son on 17 May. She called him Stuart II, SJ for short.

Nigerian singer Mayorkun since hitting the limelight with his hit singer Eleko back in 2016, has continued drop hits to the delight of his millions of fans across the globe.

The Sade crooner spoke with KOKO TV for an exclusive interview where he talked about his career, family, relationship and more.

Mayorkun is an entertainer, a graduate, a prospective accountant, a dreamer lol. I can be a lot of things in different types of situations.

KOKO: On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate the Nigerian music industry?

KOKO: What is your most embarrassing moment as an artiste?

When I planned a show for like nothing less than 6 months and few days to the show, My DJ lost his laptop and we had to get a new one but he wasn’t used to the laptop, this caused me to have several glitches on set while performing. I was looking more or less unprepared for that kind of big event which was really embarrassing.

KOKO: Tell us something about Mayorkun many people do not know?

Errr, I’m close to my mum. I have a lot of older friends.

KOKO: When are you planning to set up your own record label?

No set time in mind, only when the time is right. For now, I am just building my brand.

KOKO: If you could date any Nigerian female act, who would it be and why?

Errr….Simi or Eva Alordiah. No major reason, they are my type, lol.

KOKO: What’s your relationship with Davido like?

We family!

KOKO: Are you in a relationship at the moment?

No, I’m not cuurently dating. I used to but am single at the moment.

KOKO: Who was she?

She’s just a normal girl naa lol. The relationship ended a year ago.

KOKO: What’s your relationship with your dad like?

We are very cool. My dad is my guy. We don’t talk as much, but we are good.

KOKO: You have been in the industry for a while now, when should we be expecting your debut album?

Sometime in October this year

KOKO: What really happened during your concert in Ibadan a few weeks ago?

I wasn’t there when the drama happened, I was on stage when Dotun told me to announce that a doctor is needed backstage, which I did. About the condoms, apparently, there was a sex awareness program going on and people started toying with the condoms, blowing into balloons and stuff

KOKO: What was the doctor needed for?

Apparently, a drunk person passed out backstage, that was the info I got, not until I started hearing different stories later.

KOKO: A recent article suggested that a joint album with Dremo would be nice, what’s your thoughts on this?
I think we already have an album lol, considering the number of records we have together that are not yet out.

KOKO: Is there any artiste you’d love to work on a joint album with?

I’m down to work with anybody as long as the vibe is there.

KOKO: What are your fondest musical memories in your house? In your Neighbourhood r town?

In my house, it’s always morning devotion. In my neighbourhood, street carnival.

KOKO: Were you influenced by any old records and tapes? Which ones?

Listened to a lot of Juju, Fuji, gospel and hip-hop music. From the likes of Mega 99, Ebenezer Obey, Tope Alabi, Kwam 1 down to 2face, 9ice, Styl Plus, Davido, Wizkid and so on. Was in love with rap music too. Eminem and Royce 5’9. 9ice and Eminem were my favourites.

KOKO: Who are your favourite musicians? Groups? albums?

Davido and Wizkid. Favoruite groups, Nickleback, lady ANtebellum, Fun. Favourite albums, 9ice’s Gongo Aso and Tradition. Eminem’s Recovery, Davido’s OBO Genesis, Wizkid’s Superstar, Weeknd’s Beauty Behind The Madness, Drake’s If You Reading This, It’s Too Late and a whole lot of others.

Popular Nigerian female singer Chidinma in trouble with promoter Romaric Boco, aka Air Dubai, over an alleged breach of contract for a show in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

According to Sunday Scoop, Boco said after agreeing and collecting some money for the show, Chidinma signed another contract with some other persons for the same show and refused to refund him.

The promoter said:

“I have reported her to the Interpol in France, Benin and the Nigerian police. I paid her N800,000 in advance and also gave her manager, Rasheed, N200,000.”

In the contract letter, it was agreed that Air Dubai Entertainment would pay Chidinma N1.8m for her service to perform at Abidjan on Friday, July 27, 2018, at Mix Night Club.

The letter also stated:

“The total sum of N1.8m will be paid in two installments. The sum of N900,000 will be paid to Chidinma prior to signing the contract agreement and N900,000 will be pay to her at the Lagos airport when she is going for the show.”

When Sunday Scoop contacted Chidinma’s manager, Rasheed Ogunsanwo, he described Boco as a fraudster, insisting that all he said were blatant lies.

He added:

“The event was done and Chidinma performed at the show in Abidjan. I have videos and pictures of the show. The people, who contacted Boco to hire Chidinma for the show, asked for a refund when they discovered he wanted to scam them. But he ran away with the money they gave him. I was in the loop from the start. I can give you the promoters’ numbers.”

A First republic Minister of Aviation, Mbazulike Amaechi has described President Muhammadu Buhari as a dictator, calling on Nigerians to end dictatorship in 2019.

According to him, there was no difference between Buhari as military Head of State and Buhari as a democratic president.

The politician was quoted by Vanguard as saying that Buhari had violated all the rules of democracy, recalling that he was the only head of State to have overthrown a civilian government.

Amaechi said, “Nigeria is practicing dictatorship. Of all the military heads of state, it’s only Buhari that overthrew a democratic government.

“Other dictators overthrew military regimes. He is still a dictator. I have been saying it.

“He may have come in through a democratic regime but there is no difference between Buhari the dictator and Buhari the President.

“Whether he is wearing khaki or agbada, he is the same. Nigerians must fight to regain the country.

“Amongst all those who fought for the independence of Nigeria, I’m the only one still alive and I urge all the political parties to come together and eschew dictatorship in the country.

“We cannot continue like this because what is happening now has not happened in Nigeria before where institutions of democracy like the legislature and the judiciary are being trampled upon. It is not something to keep quiet about.

“It is something Nigerians should fight to stop because it is dictatorship.”

Flight passengers on a Ryanair holiday jet to Ibiza exited through an emergency chute after a passenger’s mobile phone battery exploded and caught light as it was about to take off.

Holidaymakers could be seen falling over each other in a bid to get away from the aircraft as quickly as they could after the inflatable slide was activated.

The drama happened around 5.30pm this afternoon at Barcelona’s El Prat Airport as the packed plane prepared to take off for Ibiza.

No-one needed medical attention although some passengers are said to have suffered slight burns as they slid down the emergency chute.

Footage taken by onlookers and other passengers who had already left the aircraft showed the moments of tension sparked by the plane filling up with smoke.

Travellers were taken to the airport’s Terminal One while they waited to board another plane and their luggage transferred to the new flight.

Firefighters were not called upon to deal with the incident.

The unnamed passenger whose mobile caught light is said to be from New Zealand. The device is thought to have been in a suitcase in the hold above his seat.

Olusegun Olaleye, a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly representing Ibadan North II state constituency, has left the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking at the Ward 11, Ibadan North Local Government, Olaleye described the switch of allegiance as “a return to Canaan, the promised land”.

According to The Nation, he was received by the PDP Chairman of the local government, Seun Adelore.

The lawmaker, who had on June 28 hinted at his decision to dump the APC, also explained that his decision was based on the “bastardisation of the ideals of Lam Adesina that he believed in, in the current APC in Oyo State.”

According to Olaleye, the leader of the PDP in the state, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, held the “ark of governance in the 2019 election in the state”, describing the PDP as a moving train which boasted of huge followers across the state and good leaders like Senator Ladoja, Chief Sarafadeen Alli and Senator Femi Lanlehin.

He urged the people of the state, particularly the constituency to get their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) so as to greatly determine who governs them in 2019.

Other state lawmakers who accompanied Olaleye to the event include Messrs. Ademola Ige, Fatai Adesina and Niyi Adeoye.

A former Ukrainian soldier was filmed setting himself on fire in protest after he was sacked from the army.

Dramatic footage broadcast on Ukrainian television showed Serhii Ulianov dousing himself in petrol before setting his army uniform alight. Flames covered him head to toe in seconds in the shocking protest outside the Ukrainian Defence Ministry headquarters in Kiev.

As witnesses were pulled away from desperately trying to jump in, another soldier managed to pull Ulianov to the ground to pat out the flames. Firefighters and other militiary officials jumped in to cover the ex-soldier, spraying him with a fire extinguisher.

According to reports in the country, servicemen were made aware of Ulianov’s plans and had managed to restrain him from his attempted self-immolation. But Ulianov managed to break free and ignite himself in seconds. One picture shows him hurling away a water bottle filled with clear liquid – believed to be the gasoline he used.

The new Juventus signing will not see the inside of a prison cell but must pay a hefty fine after coming to an agreement over evasion allegations.

Cristiano Ronaldo will accept a two-year prison sentence and a fine worth €19 million (£16.9m/$22.15m) after striking a deal with Spanish authorities over tax charges.

The ex-Real Madrid striker, now at Juventus, pleaded guilty to four charges of evasion between 2011 and 2014 worth a total of €14.7m.

According to EFE, that amount has been reduced in his guilty plea to €5.7m, although taking into account fines, interests and other cost the sum ascends to €19m.

The charges were initially denied by Ronaldo and his management company Gestifute, with the player answering tetchily whenever questioned over the matter.

After reports emerged that the Spanish government had rejected an initial offer to settle the case, Cristiano wrote on Instagram “Don’t try to spoil the beautiful moment I’m living through with fake news,” while on another occasion he insisted: “I do things the right way and I will continue to do so.”

As a first-time offender Ronaldo’s prison sentence will not be made effective, meaning that he will not spend time behind bars.

Under Spanish law, though, if the Portugal striker re-offends during the duration of the sentence he would then be open to a custodial sentence.

Ronaldo’s sentence still must be confirmed, which will occur when the star presents himself before Madrid’s Pozuelo de Alarcon court to hear the final verdict.

The charges and prospective sentence are almost identical to those initially handed down to Ronaldo’s great rival, Barcelona wizard Lionel Messi.

Messi and father Jorge had been sentenced to 21 and 15 months in prison respectively for tax fraud, having failed to pay some €4.1m owed on image rights.

But in July the pair saw their sentences commuted in return for the payment of additional fines.

Other footballers that have fallen foul of Spanish tax authorities in recent years include Manchester United’s Alexis Sanchez and former Argentina captain Javier Mascherano.

At least six people have died at a mosque at Kawddi village, Zurmi local government area of Zamfara state and over eight people injured after gunmen attacked them around 8pm on Tuesday.

Muhammad Shehu, spokesman of the state police command, confirmed the incident. He said the gunmen invaded the village in large numbers and started shooting sporadically.

Situated in a thick forest and surrounded by rocks, Kwaddi village shares boundary with the Niger Republic, a terrain which the police spokesman said made it difficult for security operatives to respond swiftly to any distress call.

He, however, said security operatives had been deployed in the village to forestall further attacks and restore calm to the area.

Last week, three people were killed in a similar attack on five villages in Gidan Goga district of Maradun local government area of the state.

An aggrieved former employee almost succeeded in robbing his former boss with a toy gun in the commercial capital of Nigeria, Lagos State.

Detectives attached to the Lagos State Police Command have arrrested a driver identified as Solomon James, for allegedly attempting to rob his boss and r*pe his master’s wife.

The suspect was alleged to have stormed his master’s home, identified as Utachy Odim, on July 21 and tried to carry out the dastardly act.

According to the police, James stormed Odim’s residence at Ademola Akande Street, Omole Estate, Lagos and held him and members of his household hostage with a toy gun. Unfortunately, the petrified Odim didn’t know that the gun was a toy.

He also didn’t know that the man attempting to rob him was his aggrieved driver, James.

Before entering the apartment, James had cleverly masked his face with a woven material, so that Odim and other members of the household wouldn’t recognise him.

After James breached the security of the house, he ordered Odim to lie-face down, tied his hands behind his back and waved the gun threateningly in the victim’s frightened face.

Speaking on the matter, the state Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, said: “The suspect, after he gained access into the victim’s apartment, started ransacking the entire house.

“He later asked for the victim’s Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) card. He tried to transfer money with the ATM, but he didn’t succeed due to network failure. He became aggressive and asked the victim to surrender original documents of his car and the key, which he did.

“The suspect was also armed with condom; he persistently asked for the victim’s wife, fortunately, the woman was not available at that material time. He succeeded in robbing the victim N38,000, his car key and his ATM card.”

The commissioner explained that on receiving the information about the robbery, he directed police operatives to the scene of the crime.

He said: “As soon as the suspect noticed police presence, he jumped the fence to escape, but was arrested. The items so far robbed were recovered from him. During interrogation, it was discovered that the suspect was the complainant’s domestic driver, whose appointment was terminated two months ago.”

Narrating his own story, James said: “I worked for Utachy Odim as his driver. While discussing my payment, I said I would like to be collecting N80,000 monthly, but he disagreed, saying that he would rather preferred to be paying me daily.

We agreed that anytime I rendered my services to him as his driver, he would pay me N5,000. We both agreed on this. I have now worked with him for about three months.

“I know that Odim has a car rental business. I promised to bring customers to him, but it would be based on commission paid on every customer I bring. He agreed to this proposal.

“I had since brought eight customers to him, but he refused to give me my commission. I got angry and decided to teach him a lesson.

“It was a vendetta for me. I went to his house last Friday about 8p.m. It was while I was knocking at the gate that I discovered it was unlocked. I made my way into the compound.

“When I got into the compound, I masked my face so that people wouldn’t recognise me. I already know the way into the house because I had worked three months for him. I made my way into the house through the kitchen.

“The first person I saw was the house help. She screamed when she sighted me, and then ran in the direction of the sitting room. I went after her and there I saw my boss seated. I pointed my toy gun at him, just to scare him.

“I asked him for his ATM card, so that I could make a quick transfer for some money, which I believed I had earned through customers that I brought to him.

“Unfortunately, the network was bad and the transfer couldn’t go through. I got angry and became scared that I could get caught. I asked him to give me his car keys and hand over the original documents of the car to me. He did as I requested.”

Asked why he came to the operation with a condom, asking for Odim’s wife, James said: “I repeatedly asked for his wife because I wanted to let the woman know what her husband had been doing behind her back.

Former Governor of Jigawa State and a presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sule Lamido, has taken a swipe at the current All Progressives Congress (APC) administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari, describing it as visionless and directionless.

Lamido stated this on a Thursday while in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, to solicit for support from members of his party towards his presidential ambition.

He also questioned the competence of President Buhari to govern the country, wondering if Buhari was really in charge of Nigeria.

He said the 16 years of the PDP government which the current administration was trying hard to demonise were far better than the current government, which is a ‘virus of evil far worse than what took place in the PDP’.

According to him, “They said in 16 years of PDP it was only corruption, stealing and killing. Today, we have a party of angels led by President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr. Saint! It’s up to us to reflect on this.

“It’s a two-page history. You can be the judge. Are we healthier now? Are we more united, richer and secure? Therefore, the APC is a virus of evil. It will destroy Nigeria. It’s an angry party set up to demonise and blackmail us using religion.

“Today, the APC is a party of liars from top to bottom. Nigeria is under siege. If a government has no focus; a government doesn’t know who is in charge, whether it’s Buhari or his Chief of Staff, we don’t know. Then where are we heading?

“Buhari said he knows the people who are killing and causing crisis everywhere, yet he can’t arrest them. His first job is to preserve lives.”

With regards to siege on Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Lamido said “The Inspector-General of Police (IG) yesterday went and blocked the house of the Senate president for 10 hours, his house was under siege, but the IG said he wasn’t aware.

“Who is in charge? Buhari doesn’t know, the IG doesn’t know, maybe it is Sule Lamido. This is a government without vision, no focus, incompetent, divisive and evil. Nigeria belongs to all of us. Today, you see the impunity in government.

“The level of theft in NNPC is unheard of. They loot and raid and suck us like leeches. I didn’t come to beg, I came to demand. Nigeria can only be saved by PDP. Only PDP has the capacity, and ahead of us is a big task.

“Go to Zamfara State, brothers killing brothers. We are killing one another in Sokoto, Zamfara, Taraba, Benue States.As a party which shares a common view, we must save Nigeria. This task is for all of us,” he said.

In his comments, the Bayelsa State Governor, Seriaki Dickson, extolled Lamido, who was later received by a large crowd of party faithful at the party secretariat.

He urged Nigerians to have confidence in the PDP and save the country from the APC-led government.

One of the world’s deadliest terrorist sect, ISIS have threatened to behead the founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg.

Deadly terrorist group, ISIS, have made a new claim, insisting that they have hacked Facebook. They have also threatened to behead Mark Zuckerberg in a vile new poster, The Sun UK reports.

The terror organisation publicised images edited to feature Zuckerberg in an orange jumpsuit and beheaded.

The poster includes the message “go to hell Mark”, and is part of a campaign dubbed #OpTheWorld.

Sixgill, an online cybersecurity firm, revealed the threats to the Daily Star – as ISIS appears to ramp up their hacking operations.

A number of other websites have been targeted – some successfully – according to Sixgill.

The so-called United Cyber Caliphate (UCC) recently came together as several pro-ISIS hacking groups.

And their activities increased since May, reports from Sixgill say, with East Asian government websites forced offline by their efforts.

The hacker’s latest propaganda calls for other groups to target Facebook.

In one particular grotesque image Zuckerberg appears beheaded, with a red “hacked” message.

The group has also shared screenshots which claim to be of hacked Facebook pages.

Sixgill told Daily Star Online: “We assume that ISIS is targeting Facebook to retaliate against its measures to censor pro-ISIS content and groups, and on more general level because Facebook is seen as a Western symbol.”

The leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has warned the Presidency and the Nigeria Police not to do anything capable of threatening the survival of democracy in Nigeria.

Reacting to the invasion of the official residences of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, CAN warned the presidency to desist from using the Nigeria Police to pull down democratic institutions built at a great price, including loss of lives and imprisonment of many patriots.

CAN spokesman, Bayo Oladeji, in a statement on Tuesday, expressed concerns over the poor handling of police’s invitation to Saraki, over the infamous Offa robbery saga that led to the death of no fewer than 30 people.

The Christian umbrella body condemned in strong terms the way and manner the Police were deployed in subjecting the leadership of the National Assembly to needless embarrassment and harassment.

CAN said: “The ongoing action of the Police is a siege against democracy. CAN notes with every sense of responsibility that the only difference between democracy and dictatorship is the presence or absence of the National Assembly.

“As stakeholders in the survival of the Nigerian democracy, we have no choice but to speak out against unfolding political imbroglio that is capable of not portraying Nigeria in good standing in the comity of nations.

“We caution the Police against being used to threaten democracy. CAN needs to remind the Nigeria Police that once a suspect has been invited to any of its offices, the best international practice is to exercise patience until the invitee fails to honour such an invitation.

“We are shocked, disappointed and alarmed at the aborted moves by the Police to stop both the Senate President and his deputy, from attending Tuesday’s proceedings for whatever reasons.

“We urge the Presidency to avoid any action that could threaten the democracy of our nation. The Nigeria Police are supposed to be neutral in order to ensure the survival of democracy.

“We call on both leadership of the National Assembly and the Presidency to stop acting in a manner that constitutes international disgrace and embarrassment. It is needless to remind the legislative and executive arms of government to work in synergy for the interest of our nation’s democracy.

“CAN calls on Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and other professional bodies, like the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), among others, to remain vigilant in rescuing democracy from forces that are hell-bent in derailing it.

“We appeal to all security agencies to stop being involved in partisan politics. Nigerians must realise that leadership goes around and comes around, but our country will continue to remain. CAN calls on all service chiefs, including the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Kpotun Idris, not to destroy our democratic institutions through needless partisanship.”

Amaju Pinnick, the embattled factional Chairman of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has confirmed his return to office.

Pinnck has been restored to office following a directive from the Federal Government which ejected Chris Giwa from office on Monday.

The General Secretary of NFF, Muhammed Sanusi spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, from his office in Abuja on Monday.

“I am back to my office to assume my legal responsibilities with a clearance from the government,” he said.

Also a source who spoke on condition of anonymity told NAN that the NFF President would also resume his post after his assignments abroad.

“I can assure you that the president will also resume his duties soon,” he said.

NAN reports that the seemingly unending leadership crisis of the NFF took a new turn on July 2, when the Chris Giwa’s faction took over the glass house secretariat of the NFF citing a court judgment.

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung had earlier ordered that the NFF should comply with the Supreme Court judgment that overturned the Sept. 30, 2014 election of NFF president, Amaju Pinnick.

The court also ordered that the status quo be maintained at the Glass House.

Dalung said the directive followed a written notification by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice requesting the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports to ensure compliance.

Former Nigerian Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon (rtd) on Saturday visited Benue state Governor Samuel Ortom in Makurd, the State capital.

The Elder Statesman visited the state to commiserate with the government and people of the Benue over the killings in the state which he feared was taking a religious dimension.

Speaking to journalists at the Government House in Makurdi, Gen. Gowon expressed disappointment over the handling of security situation in the country, calling for immediate questioning of the leaders of Miyetti Allah.

He, however, commended Governor Ortom and the Benue State government for the way the issue was being handled.

He said “I think security agencies should invite and question the leadership of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore who had earlier threatened to unleash violence on Benue State.

“I was out of the country when two priests and 17 worshipers were killed in a church in the state during a morning mass. I extend my condolences to the government and people of the state.

“I am sad and worried at the religious dimension the killings is assuming, the authorities should redouble their effort to deal with the security situation because if that is not done, the country could descend into a religious war, with no one coming out victorious.

“For us to survive as a nation; we must learn to live together as one regardless of ethnicity or religion.”

Welcoming the elder statesman, Governor Ortom, represented by his Deputy, Engr Benson Abounu thanked him for coming to commiserate with them and lending his voice for the federal government to take decisive actions to end the violence.

He disclosed that though the killings have reduced due to the change of tactics by the military who upgraded their operation in the state from “exercise cat race” to “operation whirl stroke,” the threat is not over yet as killings still go on in many places.”

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Sen. Ighoyota Amori, has spoken on the rumoured plans by a former governor of Delta State, Emmanuel Uduaghan to decamp to the All Progressives Congress, APC, from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Amori told the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, in Abuja, that the party stakeholders were aware of Uduaghan’s plan to decamp and had begun talks with him.

He said that the leaders were reaching out to Uduaghan to jettison the idea, adding that he was being reminded that whatever his grievances may be, he should remember the “good nights’’ he had in PDP.

He also reacted to recent Supreme Court judgement which cleared Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, of wrongdoing in the false declaration of assets charges against him.

Amori said Saraki had every cause to celebrate.

Speaking on Uduaghan, he said, “All we are saying is that all the issues being raised can be addressed. When he was the governor, he addressed issues, so he should remain in the `family’ for the issues to be addressed.’’

Amori said further, “From the day Saraki emerged as the Senate President, they have subjected him to all sorts of undemocratic treatments, kicking him from one court to the other.

“In fact, they have even labelled him an armed robber, not only him but also his state governor.

“This is a man who was born with silver spoon, a man who was governor for eight years, to now become an armed robber in Offa, Kwara state. Don’t you think that is funny?

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) on Wednesday night met in Abuja.

They discussed mattersarising from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) deadlock, minimum wage, among other issues.

The FAAC monthly meeting is the forum where money is shared among the federal, states and local governments.

Also on the meeting agenda was presentation by the Chief Executive Officer of EduMarshals, on replicating EduMarshals education project at the state level.

The Postmaster General was also expected to make presentation at the meeting on the effort of the Nigerian Postal Service in maximising revenue potential through electronic stamp solution, digital addressing system and addressing verification system.

The governors were also briefed by World Bank Country Director, Dr Rachid Benmessaoud, on the States Fiscal Transparency and Accountability Sustainability (FSTAS).

Meanwhile, State Commissioners of Finance, who are key stakeholders in the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) are seeking to stop the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) from collecting and remitting royalties into the Federation Account.

This followed recurring conflicts over figures the corporation has been declaring in recent months.

Suspected political thugs, Tuesday, launched an attack on the convoy of former Deputy Governor (Operations) of Central Bank of Nigeria, Chief Adebayo Adelabu in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Adelabu, who recently resigned from the apex bank to join the gubernatorial race in the state, DAILY POST reports, was at the Ibadan North West Local Government chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for his sensitization tour.

The attack, DAILY POST reports, occurred barely few minutes after Adelabu left the venue of the meeting at Inanlende area of Ibadan.

Though the cause of the attack has not been revealed, it was gathered that his entry into the gubernatorial race had become a source of headache for others aspirants under the platform of the APC.

A source at the scene told DAILY POST that many people were injured during the attack.

He added that several cars and buses, including those in the convoy of Adelabu and others belongings to commercial drivers who ply the Mokola-Ayeye Road were also damaged while the attack lasted.

However, all efforts made by DAILY POST to get reactions from Adelabu or any of his aides proved abortive as of the time of filing this report.

The Deputy National Chairman (North) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. Lawal Shu’aibu has invited Sen George Akume and Gov Samuel Ortom to Abuja for an urgent meeting.

The duo are the main actors in the tussle for leadership of the Benue chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The invitation followed Ortom’s announcement that he is no longer with the ruling party.

Ortom made the declaration at the banquet hall of the Government House in Makurdi, the state capital on Monday.

He spoke while swearing in the newly appointed Special Adviser on Local Government and Cheftaincy Affairs, Jerome Torshimbe.

Ortom’s Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, quoted the governor as saying that, “As for party, I’ve been given the red card and I’m now outside the pitch.

“So, if I have been given the red card and I’m standing outside, that means I’m a free man.”

But a competent source told NAN in Abuja that the urgent meeting had become necessary.

The meeting is expected to hold today and the party is expected to brief the public on the outcome.
